The Official Bane Costume Thread - Part 1

I appreciate that. Even though I went to school for this stuff it doesn't get easier, and this is by bar the most challenging piece I've done.

WB's twitter just put out a picture of RDMaul at SDCC in his Bane attire. Cool stuff

Also..just realized I still have to get boots lol. I'll just get some cheap army looking ones for £5 in town.

Hey Banez. I've bought one of these suckers with the intention of modding. I think it's a reasonable base to work off. I'll be adding suede, painting and weathering where appropriate. Will post before and after shots in the coming weeks.

Hey guys, just some input to save some of the budgeters who cant afford the pants from banepants but want screen accuracy.

I apologize if anyone's already mentioned it, I've been following the thread for a while for input on my bane costume and haven't seen anyone say it.

But if you buy some cheap cargo pants with the side pouch pockets, just unstitch them and sew (or glue) them back on where they are on the movie version. I bought $30 cargo pants and did that and now just need knee pads ($20 to $30) and they will look pretty close to as accurate as the banepants ones, not quite as accurate, but this is for the budgeters who still want close to screen accuracy. I can't find the right knee pads, just kind of similar ones. but those front pouch pockets really make the pants stand out as unique, cause they don't sell any that way.

Just thought I'd try to help some people save some $.

p.s. I died khaki cargo pants with Rit fabric dye (one pouch of dye and in the washing machine) and they came out the exact charcoal grey as the banepants ones. But the khaki threading (cause it's a different material that's non dyeable) stays khaki. if anyone doesn't mind that go for it, and heads up to anyone with the same idea.

I'll try to post pics of my pants soon so people can see how close to screen accurate they can look. Crunch time! Premier is next week!
Hope this helps someone!

I ordered one and here's how things are looking for premiere night. I might do some light modding before Wednesday.

NOTE: The shoulder straps aren't tied down in this shot, they will be tighter when I have additional help to secure them.

Jezza looking good bro

Are you going to the european premier in London on Wednesday?

Peace

Sweet man thanks. Hey it looks mad. Good fit!

Yeh TR regarding weathering, I'm no expert but I'll probably use a variety of greys/darks and different brushing techniques. Hey might even dirty it up a bit too

Was looking at buying the vest from the same seller on ebay.

I'm not too sure fella, this is dependent on how long it takes to get ready and get to London (coming from Surrey). I also have to depend on my orange jumpsuit wearing Selina, provided it all comes through in time.

As for more pictures of the vest

I also wouldn't mind a bit of advice on this. I decided to test out a small area of the belt that can't be seen to modify the colour (using brown boot polish) as I think the main belt is the one area that seems inaccurate as the colour is too bright. I'm just wondering if people think it would look good across the whole belt, as I'm a little unsure

Looks good Jezza btw. Can't wait to see it weathered. I haven't worked on mine yet.

i made this scarecrow mask for a friend of mine, and he ran into a really awesome looking Bane this weekend at SDCC, is this Bane anyone here?
