This is incredible! Phenomenal job, man!

A lot of you have some great costumes so I could use some help! My friend recently was diagnosed with cancer and due to his chemo, he lost his hair. He's been a good sport about it and recently started joking that he would make a great Bane now. Although he said it as a joke I know he's a Batman fan so I've been on the hunt for a near movie quality mask for him as a surprise. I've been blown off my Roids on here, on his email, and on his new username on this site, so I figured I'd look for help elsewhere. If ANYONE can help me find somewhere to get a high quality mask like the ones that Roids makes for my friend (which I really didn't think would be this difficult) please contact me on here. I'm not at all looking for a handout and I'll pay just like everyone else would... Thanks everyone!

To my knowledge, the one Roids offered was the only one that had actual tubing. All others are sculpted onto the mask. Jbrown offers Bane masks (theres a thread on this forum for them) and there are also some available on Ebay from various sellers. Be wary of recast items though.

This is gonna be little bit of a venting post but I'm pretty sure everyone here can understand my frustration.

One of my friends posted a picture of all of us at the premiere with me in costume on Facebook and another one of his friends who I don't know decided he wanted one up everybody. Now let me just say I don't think my costume is the best one out there by any means far from it actually but I do feel mine was the best at my theater. Well this guy says the Bane at his theater was better because he was bigger and had a more accurate costume because this guy "made his whole costume". So I see a picture and the entire costume is from Costumebase. Except the mask. That was made by a guy on YouTube who clearly was not the guy in the picture. And I tried explaining to him that this guy did not make his costume and it was bought and I even provided a link to it and he said I was wrong and I didn't know what I was talking about and this guy put more effort to his costume because my jacket wasn't "brown or fluffy enough" (I did the black military jacket version). He also said the vest had "metal plates" Haha what? So this guy really pissed me off to say the least. He then proceeded to say that I didn't put enough effort into my costume and this guy "tried harder".

Well that's it. I'm sure everyone here can sympathize with having someone trying to one-up you and trying to put down your costume that you worked extremely hard on and researched a lot and acting very condescending towards you about a topic that they know nothing about. Probably the most frustrating part is this guy didn't even make the costume, it was someone he took a picture with. Ok sorry about that now I'm done.

I've been costuming my whole life. It's just a fun hobby. Different people have different levels of doing this hobby. Some go for 100% screen accuracy. Some go after "close enough". Others like doing original takes. It's all good. Do what you want to do and what vision looks good for you.

In the end, we're just guys playing dress up. Period.

Having said that, I want to say that everyone on here has done a great job on their various looks.

Well thanks for that man. Even though almost every comment I've gotten was overwhelmingly positive (made the front page of the batman section of reddit after my friend posted a picture of me) it only takes a few negative ones to kind of crawl under your skin and make you second guess yourself but oh well. Thinking back to the my experience at my theater does snap me back into shape though.

Totally empathise. The rent-a-cop security guards at my local cinema were the most annoying. It's only a costume on the opening day.

Some people questioned why my friend and I went dressed considering the tragedy in the US, were both stayed off FB and twitter and avoided all news two days prior to the opening night/day. If we'd known we wouldn't have bothered to avoid upsetting people.

They isn't as many conventions in the UK, so there isn't always an opportunity to cosplay.

alot of theaters already have a no mask policy, unless you call in advance or speak to someone in advance. but dont let one brain dead waste of flesh ruin yours, or anyones good intentions by dressing up for people to enjoy seeing you as a great character.
(ps, the ignorant murderer, wasnt dressed like the joker, he was wearing swat style gear with dyed red ronald mcdonald hair)
also, does anyone know if that piece of **** murderer was a member of these forums?

Yeah that's the thing. I've been on eBay and seen all of the cheap rubbery and misshapen or poorly painted masks. I've been to every fan site I could find and all anyone was saying was "Roids has the best" or "BaneHardy is identical" no matter where I go. I've gone to people who make movie replicas for a living and they either have the tubes molded in or they just don't even want to attempt making that mask. If I'm going to get him this mask, it's going to be the best quality I can find (I think he's earned that much) so I won't settle, I'll just keep looking. I appreciate your reply though!

Some HD shots from my local Game who asked me to appear in their magazine. The image quality really brings out the best in costume.

It was great fun, but I'm hoping to find a UK cosplayer with a great take on Batman now!

No hate at all actually just stating facts about the forums, I wouldn't want someone taking advantage of the rules is all. also thats twice you have used the bullying term if I am not mistaken you might be trying to get me banned just like Roids. Hmmm coincidence or..... not

Hey I'm sorry I just need some help with trying to form my bane costume that's all. I didn't intend on starting any fights. I'm new here as well.

Well anyone looking at making a replica mask should definitely invest in "The Art and the Making of The Dark Knight Trilogy". Has the most detailed shots of the mask and goes into details about how they went about making it along with details about how it works (ie the magnets on the side of the mask that allow it to be removed easier.)

Thank you BRead WArrior I will definitely be picking it up

Even if you're not making a mask still pick it up lol. It's an incredible read and a must have for any bat fan. It has a bunch never before seen behind the scenes pictures. The ones that caught my attention the most were the ones with Heath... Really bittersweet.

were can i get one of these books you speak of bread warrior also does it discuss how to create a scarecrow mask. cause that mask was beyond legit!
