There's no secrets when it comes to seeing faces and stuff.

I see every CBM as an"alternate universe/comic reboot"adaption and that's why I don't have a problem with changes being made except depending on what exactly those changes are and how it's played out on film

Same here, really. I'd like to see a definitive Batman adaptation that strictly follows the source material, but at this point, it'd be a near impossible feat since the idea of what a definitive Batman movie should be varies from person to person. There's almost a century of mythology and interpretations to draw from now, whereas something like Watchmen is comprised of a handful of issues with a beginning, middle, and end.

Unless, as I've said before, a filmmaker attempts to adapt a singular Batman run like Hush or The Long Halloween...but again, even an adaptation like that wouldn't be considered "definitive" to all Batman fans.

Really trying to milk that joke dry, huh?

Lmfao! Trav is totally Lloyd Christmas. The biggest pest on the forum.

This is pretty much how I see it too.

I thought that was the biggest foul in the series.....then again the Vicki reveal was gawdawful

I think people are forgetting that Vicki figured out who Bruce was. She knew when she left the Gotham Globe after seeing the old papers with Knox that Bruce was Batman. I'd imagine that she went to Wayne Manor and demanded that Alfred take her to Bruce. Alfred clearly caved. And also, Alfred made it evident throughout the film that he didn't want Bruce to end up dead. I think he let Vicki into the batcave in an attempt to save Bruce's life. To me, all this is pretty obvious to pick up on as you watch the film. You may see it another way. :cwink:

So you're saying Vicki saw faces and stuff? You may be onto something there.

:hmm

I'm not sure if Vicky knew, but surely she wanted some serious explanation from Bruce. And Alfred spent the movie trying to make Bruce accept Vicky in his life by revealing his identity to her. So when Bruce failed at it (at Vicky's apartment) and Vicky went there, Alfred simply concluded what Bruce had started.

In a sense, yes, but almost everyone seems to broadly agree on what is the core of the mythos and of the individual characters. It is probably for that reason that all but the dangerously insane love BTAS.

As I said, I personally find that pointless. Given that comics are sequential words and pictures, there is really nothing left to adapt or fill in when transposing a particular comic onto screen. It's better just to revisit the comic in question.

I never did mind it, but secret identities are revealed a lot in comic book movies anyway. The thing is, Vicki kinda figured it out on her own and Bruce was about to tell her at the apartment anyway. To me, there's no harm done unless Alfred starts telling every single person Bruce dates. :oldrazz:

It just seemed out of character for Alfred to just let her in like that.(But I guess no more so than him walking out on Bruce in TDKR) Anyway,to their credit they seemed to acknowledge how bad it was in Returns.

To be honest,I think in many ways,Returns is better than 89.They didn't saddle Bats with a "Revenge" plot.(keeping the killing at least within "manageable" levels)Keaton seems more comfortable in this one.Having found his groove,it's a shame he didn't get to do the third. The Catwoman character wasn't exactly the adaptation I'd have liked, but Pfeiffer made it her own.I even liked the "Burton-esq" circus freaks/bizarre world to an extent.

My biggest problem is with The Penguin being so bastardized. It's no refection on De Vito, who was born to play the role. But I think if you could edit roughly half of his scenes,I think it makes for a better picture.

Bruce obviously knew it was her.

I mean, with that weird looking mouth, who couldn't?!

They didn't acknowledged how bad it was. they just acknowledged it.

Many times Alfred has gone against Bruce's will because to some extent, Alfred has to take care of him, protecting him even from himself.

The more i think about it, i guess i dont mind Alfred letting her in the cave, he has his moments where he really tries to do what's best for Bruce even if he doesn't like it. My problem is the fact that Vicki has like zero reaction to the cave or him being Batman.

Vicki's first reaction might have happened off-screen when Alfred told her. Then again. Basinger is not a very good actress.
