I don't mean any insult by this, but this is definitely the first time that I've watched comic book TV Series where like most of the female characters were like bi-sexual.lol
Changing with the times I guess.
Gotham certainly earns its TV14 rating at least in terms of sexual situations

I guess; but it just feels like they're doing so for the heck of it.

Fish I can understand but I don't see why they had to do so for Barbara.

I don't necessarily think Fish is bisexual, just determined enough to be gay for pay.

It's hemorrhaging viewers at the minute. Down another 10.000 :(

I wouldn't call being down a ratings point (remember the demos are the most important thing in the US) as hemorrhaging.

As long as it stays above a 2.0 this season... FOX will almost certainly renew it for a second season.

It has been getting less viewers each week though.
It's a little concerning.

If it can maintain what it has now, it should be fine.

To be fair, Liza (the singer) was probably just desperate to get the job, and Fish could've just been impressed with how well she did. So it probably wasn't sexual for either of them.

And we still don't really know how far Barbara's relationship with Montoya actually went (Was it just a few dates? Did they see any other women before or since? There's a lot of grey area there), so that technically leaves Montoya as the only confirmed non-heterosexual on the show.

Man it's fun being a nitpicky know-it-all :oldrazz:

'Gotham' Draws Strong U.K. Debut Ratings for Viacom's Channel 5
2:20 AM PST 10/14/2014 by Georg Szalai

The show, which has earned a full-season order at Fox, outperformed the competition on Britain's Channel 4 and BBC Two

Britain's Channel 5, recently acquired by Viacom, on Monday night drew strong ratings for the U.K. premiere of new Fox hit show Gotham, according to overnight data.

It drew a combined 2.1 million viewers in the 9 p.m. time slot and an immediate replay for a share of 9.3 percent of people watching TV at the time in Britain. Ratings consultancy Attentional said that put its U.K. audience above that of Channel 4 (1.9 million viewers for documentary show 24 Hours in Police Custody) and BBC Two (900,000 viewers for documentary series The Kitchen).

Channel 5 said that excluding a second airing on the Channel 5+1 network right after the premiere, Gotham drew an average audience of 1.7 million, for a share of 7.8 percent. Year-to-date, Channel 5 has averaged 1.3 million viewers in the time slot, or 1.5 million when including the +1 audience, according to a spokeswoman.

"[Gotham] may well gain from a lot of viewing of recordings over the next seven days, so the final figure could be considerably higher," Attentional said in a blog post. The ratings are close to what Channel 5 hit shows draw for their season launches.

Fox on Monday said that it has given its fall breakout show a back order for an additional six episodes, bringing its freshman season to a full 22 episodes amid strong ratings in its first weeks.

Oct. 14, 2:45 a.m. Updated with more information on Channel 4 and BBC Two shows.

Since Fish rubbed out Falcone's girlfriend in the previous episode I assume Liza is intended to replace the girl and simultaneously act as Fish's mole. Fish's "seduce me" line was meant to discover if Liza and the other candidate would be capable of seducing Falcone. That's how I interpreted the scene, anyway.

I thought Falcone's girl was just mugged and not killed?

This is not unusual for a successful new show's first season. Very strong, front-loaded start - ratings will dip and potentially level out - has the potential to build back an even stronger audiences as more episodes air, word of mouth continues to spread, people who haven't had the chance to see it will start from episode 1 and catch up, etc.

The thing that worries me though is that the word of mouth on this show has been VERY mixed. I mean my best friend whos also a hardcore comic fan like me just watched the Balloonman episode and thought it was absolutely ridiculous. Hes not sure if hes gonna continue watching now. This show doesnt have that wide acclaim that Arrow/ Flash/ The Walking Dead have. I dont hear people saying "You HAVE to watch this!" like i do with those other shows. This slightly worries me because I can see signs of an AWESOME dark gritty police drama but they need to get their act together and decide what it wants to be. They've got two great lead characters, great visual tone and atmosphere just....we just need more scary, menacing antagonists and less....Balloonman.

The first two episodes only aired here on Sunday night, but everyone (literally) I've spoken to about it was really surprised how good it was and are looking forward to more.

I'll admit, though, the preview for the next episode with the guy being raised by the balloons had me raising my eyebrow...

I think they should attempt a full on Court of Owls storyline, with the maze and everything, just using a younger Bruce and a younger Lincoln March.

Bruce's investigation of the murder of his parents would cause him to cross paths with the Court of Owls. The producers confirmed that they would introduce them if a second season gets made

Why the heck haven't Selina and Bruce interacted yet? Where going into our 5th episode of the season. You would've at least expect a few scenes by now.

I wasn't a big fan of this weeks ep, the assassin's gimmick made no sense. Interested to see how the Arkham stuff develops, visually they kept it classic. Cobblepot remains the highlight, but damn! he's a serial killer at this point with that amount of bodies he's dropped.

The stuff with Barbara and Gordon is contrived, she wants him to tell her things he is obligated to keep to himself, and she was once a Lesbian but now isn't?....ok.

I wonder if the girl Fish hired will become a character we are familiar with.

That's actually not uncommon in real life. Sexual orientation is a lot more fluid than you might think. Cracked did an article on this recently: http://www.cracked.com/article_21644_6-outdated-myths-everyone-still-believes-about-homosexuality.html

Forgive me if I'm being obnoxious about this. I'm on a bit of "gender/sexual politics" obsession lately. Hopefully I'll be over it soon.

Yeah, I was actually hoping that Bruce and Selina would have crossed paths with each other by now.

Bruce, like Barbara, has been mainly stuck in one specific location for the majority of their time in the series (thus far).

I want to see Bruce actually sneak out of the house and explore Gotham, maybe run into some trouble and this is where we see Selina actually encountering him and helping him out.

Most fans don't know what they want to see... some don't want to see pre-Joker villain (Jack Napier), others don't want to see selina acting as Cat, some don't want to see young Bruce acting like he wants to be Batman.

Then there are some who are just not interested in what Gordon is doing. I mean... show runners just can't please everyone.

I, for one, really love the show. It has a strong identity, both visually and in terms of contents, with both a serious and really comic booky approach, and it has some interesting characters arcs. I hope it gets renewed.

I don't know if I can say I love the show yet, but I certainly loved the first two episodes. I hope that keeps up.

I really love the show, and it is a genuine shame that some people don't get it ane are tuning out.

I think everybody was expecting that hard hitting, gritty realism of the Nolan movies. And once they see all the odd things, which is more Batman than anything else, they get put off. You can tolerate a crazy clown in a purple suit...a Mad Hatter inspired from AIW, but not something like a Balloonman? Is that really such a giant leap from what we get in the comics?

People just don't know what to make of it and it's a shame. It's not the producers fault. It's people still riding on Nolan's coattails.
