But the Hulk is six guys wider. No BB player is that big. If you make Hulk too big it becomes about his height (Giant-Man) & not his strength. Just look at the last two movies a 15' Hulk was like King Kong & In TIH they had to make the Abombination even bigger to emphasize more strength. Hulk needs to interact with the Avengers he needs to fit inside buildings. The Hulk was never a giant creature. Since Ang Lee's movie the Artists have gone wild to compete with that failed version.

I read on Darkhorizons that Hulk will be about 9ft tall, about the same as the Hulk in TIH....

Are they going to have hulk as himself for most of the movie or will they have banner instead for when they are having their meetings and such because in the avengers cartoon you barely see banner. I know it could be lots of money if they have him as hulk for majority of the movie

Why would the Hulk be in the meetings? He's all about rage and mashing things, not strategizing....

I'm just happy ILM's getting another crack at the Hulk. I think their work on Ang Lee's film was pretty fantastic, with some slight flaws in certain shots. I think, for photorealism, ILM's Hulk was better than what they did in the Incredible Hulk.

Still, that was almost 9 years ago and before they did the ridiculous job of Davey Jones.

I'm very, very interested to see how ILM will come at the Hulk this time. Should be interesting.

Yes, rendering wise, ILM's Hulk was superior to the Hulk in TIH. Pity too, the Hulk's design from TIH would have been fantastic under ILM's care...too bad.

Yes, it would. What they did get right with the version in the '08 film was the color and the size but he was never photoreal, except for the one shot of him holding Betty in the flames. That's as close as they got.

That's how they have him in the new cartoon, sitting in on the meetings when he's not feeling bored to just be on his own. He can have his calm moments, but the doubled edged sword is that you still have to walk on eggshells when talking to or about him in danger of setting him off again.

If continuity with TIH is mostly maintained, it's not likely we're going to get a Hulk that will sit in a meeting. That's what Banner will be for. Hulk will come out when Banner is pissed/stressed, and won't say a lot except the HULK SMASH type catchphrases.

I think the size doesn't even matter. Even the smaller Hulk in the new Avengers cartoon break floors and doors even though he fits through anything. He's just a dick like that.

My take on Hulk's height is that it just wouldn't seem right if any human was almost as tall as him. So personally I'd prefer 8ft something as opposed to 7ft something. That way, even a very tall human man (6"5 for example) will be dwarfed by him.

Marvel's take on the Hulk's height is that his height isn't what's intimidating--it's his mass. The Hulk was listed as 7 feet tall for the vast majority of his existence. It's not that he's taller than a human can be, it's that he's got more mass than any human (and most superheroes):

Yeah, that bust is a pretty good interpretation of how big he would be in comparison to someone else.

I think he looked pretty photoreal in the cave scene also.

RE: Banner/Hulk's cabin.

Just speculation here, but I'm guessing this scene is early in the film. SHIELD attempting to take in Banner, who's just starting to get control of the transformation, but because of SHIELD, he loses control and Thor is called in. There won't be a definitive winner, as Banner may regain control.

Fury brings him in, to help him control the transformations. He's partnered up with Hawkeye and Widow with orders to take Banner out if he starts to change and lose control.

Filmwise -- this gives Whedon an excuse NOT to have a lot of CGI Hulk to save budget.

Storywise -- Banner's arc will be about control. He'll fight to keep from changing into the Hulk throughout the film (again to save the budget but it also doubles storywise). By the third act, we'll likely get a scene like Ultimates/EMH where Hulk saves the day but loses control. Or Loki will manipulate Banner into becoming the Hulk and lashing out of control until Banner regains control of the Hulk.

In that leaked script page, Widow was keeping tabs on Banner and seemed sorry -- either wanting to avoid shooting him or because she felt sorry and couldn't bring herself to shoot him. (if memory serves correctly)

I'm aware of that and have no qualms with how Marvel did it, like I said it's my personal opinion and preference - I'd like him taller rather than smaller.

I hope Feige/Marvel's re-casting of Banner doesn't give them the excuse they need to tinker with the continuity of TIH. They're keeping the continuity of all the other films in tact, TIH should be no different.

You've evidently never read the first three issues of the Avengers comics? or many Hulk comics?

It depends on the incarnation. In Hulk's earliest days he certainly did use strategy. Gray Hulk/Mr.Fixit, Gravage/Green Scar and Merged Hulk all use strategy in fighting and sometimes even plan their attacks with others. Only the Savage and Mindless Hulk lack that type of patience or mind, but even Savage Hulk has been involve in planning, read some Defenders comics and you'll see for yourself that Savage Hulk too can be involved...though he mostly never follows through...LOL.

That's how they have him in the new cartoon, sitting in on the meetings when he's not feeling bored to just be on his own. He can have his calm moments, but the doubled edged sword is that you still have to walk on eggshells when talking to or about him in danger of setting him off again.

That's right. This is the Gravage/Green Scar Hulk who is pretty much like his comic book counterpart.

I'd like to see ruffalo negotiating with hulk for control, speaking through dark, blurry reflections. I believe that would be an efficient way to convey the power struggle and display a little bit of hulks personality.

I think there are many ways to show Hulk and Banner fighting for control. I actually liked both surreal scenes in Ang's Hulk with Hulk behind the door in Banner's mind and also, Hulk in the mirror scene. In the television show, they did a scene with Banner in the desert and Hulk locked in a vault trying to break loose, another scene with Hulk caged reaching trying to grab hold of Banner. The only thing missing in the scenes was dialogue between the two.

Hulk should be fighting Banner and Banner fighting Hulk.

I think it'd be cool to see banner excusing himself to go speak with hulk lol. Or even seeing banner trying to convince hulk to help the others.
