The Avengers The Official 'Hulk in Avengers' thread. - Part 10

Maybe would prefer to see a few scales on the top layer but otherwise, it would be a massive improvement on the design using in TIH. Plus, the mutation you describe would take, what, 1 or 2 lines of exposition to the audience to explain?

Perfect. No fuss, no muss.

 That would be pretty much perfect, plus Roth could still do the voice, maybe have Abom taunting Hulk more for his lack of intelligence like he does in the comics as opposed to the taunts he threw in TIH.

Yup, why not?

Also, we might get a glimpse of the MCU Vault. Still cant beleive no movie has featured that place yet

OMG the Hulk is Unstoppable!!!!

Someone should make a edit teaser of that scene with tony and loki talking and as Tony says "we have a hulk", it skips to hulk garbing loki and throwing him around and says "puny god" then back to Tony and he smiles.

Marvel's Official YouTube page uploaded a deleted sceen from the movie!!! Banner's have a conversation with the janitor about whether he's a big guy that shrinks or a little guy that grows.

If Cobie Smulders wasn't Maria Hill in the Avengers, she could've been Betty Ross. She's a bit similar to Jennifer Connelly. Of course, Betty could really be played by any other actresses. I don't know why they would waste Wonder Woman types on her.

Cool. I wish they'd kept it in. Nice nod to the Banner/Hulk dynamic. Also it was kind of weird how Banner just showed up in the middle of the invasion, this scene sets it up.

lol I love this poster by Matthew Ferguson Of Hulk smashing Loki

Just watched The Avengers Blu-Ray and then watched my Blu-Ray of The Incredible Hulk.

It will be my greatest regret of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that Norton was recast. I love Norton AND Ruffalo's take on the character - I just wish we had ONE Bruce Banner in the series -- it's a terrible shame things didn't work out....

Same for Terrance Howard as Rhodey and Maggie Gyllenhaal from the Dark Knight Trilogy.

Would have been nice....

HOPEFULLY what this did was give the Marvel execs motivation to not foul up again.

It worked this time -- Mark is fantastic -- but don't take that chance again. It sadly almost moves The Incredible Hulk to the edge of the continuity, and that's a shame as it is one of the BEST films in the MCU Franchise.

I do agree that despite how much I personally prefer Mark over Edward's performance and characterization of the character, that it is difficult to deal with the fact that despite by all accounts, Mark's Bruce is supposed to be the same one that experienced the events that we saw in "TIH". It would have really helped if we could have gotten one character from the TIH film to star in a minor role in "The Avengers" alongside Mark's Bruce. I mean, one could easily say that they just erased TIH out of the MCU's continuity. I mean you could go into "The Avengers" without having seen TIH and still understand on what's going on with Bruce Banner and get equally invested in him as opposed to the other solo films.

If anything, I'd add more to that and say that it's hard to really picture films like "Iron Man 1" and "TIH" into the continuity of the MCU since unlike "Iron Man 2", "Thor", and "Captain America:TFA", Iron Man 1 and TIH had a very different tone for me personally; I mean those two films felt like they could really take place in our world, whereas the latter three had a more fantasy feel to it in some cases.

The only problem with wishing the recast never happened is that I VASTLY prefer Ruffalo in the role, so if there were one version of Banner I would wish out of existence for the sake of continuity, it would be Norton's.

Krishnamurti Costa, aka "Antropus" is the CG artist who worked on the Hulk over at ILM, his work is the best in the biz.

Hulk – beautifully modeled by Gio Nakpil, I was in charge of all fine detail work, including detail transfer from actual scans to conform to both Ruffalo’s Digital Double and the Hulk model. I also created a vast ZBrush skin brush library that I later used to texture both characters’ full bodies, including pores, wrinkles, veins etc. I also did custom ZBrush work on the three biggest close-up shots involving the Hulk in this movie (custom displacement maps for custom facial expressions).

Here's an interview with Gio Nakpil.

Was Banner/Hulk aware that something was wrong & trying to warn Black Widow to "Run For Your Life" before he started chasing after her? Although watching the scene with subtitles all that popped up was "Your Life!" so was unsure what Hulk was really trying to say.

Your life, then he probably wanted to say, is in danger!

Although he'd turned into the Hulk, the impression I got was that glance was actually Banner, seemingly both fearful and apologetic for what was about to happen.

Here's a theory I have to why the Hulk attacked Black Widow and was out to wreck havoc on everything! It's because he was being suppressed by Banner for so long, that whole year, and Hulk wanted out! When he got out he reeked havoc on everything like a crazed animal breaking out of it's cage hell bent on destroying everything! As to why he was different later on is because he was passed all that.

I wish they thought to cast Ruffalo back in 2008 in TIH. Then we could've gotten one solo film with him as well. In fact, what I would like to be erased out of existence is Ang Lee's Hulk, but combine the best bits of that (eg the desert fight) with TIH and have Ruffalo play the part. We could've had a real blockbuster in 2008 with all those elements instead of TIH being dragged down by 2003 Hulk.

Better yet, I wish that they had released "TIH" AFTER Iron Man 2, during when they had a better plan on how the remaining MCU films would fit into place when leading up to "The Avengers".

If "The Incredible Hulk" had been planned/prepared/released after MS had formulated a better draft of their MCU timeline and events, along with having secured Mark for several films and having used him for the first film, then the Hulk film would feel more connected to the entire franchise/build up and not feel like the odd one out.

Heck, I mean with the film having had issues between Norton and the studio, along with not knowing fully on how the events of the film would play out in general with the other films, and having had it release near "The Dark Knight", yeah, the film really didn't have much of a chance.

It is a shame that we had to have a recast for Bruce Banner, shame things couldnt be worked out with Norton but Ruffalo was great, hope he gets to headline his own Hulk movie some day.

Even though I think Norton is the best Banner, 2003 had the best Hulk in terms of looks:

The only thing I'll say is that after finally owning the 2003 HULK and watching it several times. I really like it. I personally like The Avengers Hulk better than the other 2 movies in terms of looks. I hope Hulk in A2 is a little more menacing and more out of control though.
