SO Thor would stand at about his chest.... seems about right, heck I think the Destoryer was taller then the Hulk....

any word on that things official movie height????

Not that i've seen. Looked to be closer to 15-18 ft or so. It was about twice as tall as Hemsworth I think.

I wonder what kind of a one on one confrontation we should expect between Loki and the Hulk? I'm assuming that Loki had encountered him in some way already based on his lines in the D23 Expo and that it happened before he was "captured" by SHIELD>

I think that Loki will mess with Banner's mind and make him hulk out, then use him to create carnage. That's for the first encounter. After that I'd bet that Hulk wises up a bit and goes hard at Loki whenever he sees him.

The Destroyer was 9 feet tall as well, according to Kenneth Branaugh in an interview for Thor.

I'm kind of shocked that, of the people who went to D23, no one has come forward to say if Hulk looks more like the new assembled photo or the comic con poster. There are significant differences between the two images, and the close-up in the footage last weekend is our only link to knowing exactly what Hulk looks like. Was the shot that tight where nothing could be confirmed?

I would've said The Destroyer was taller than 9 feet.

Destroyer was close to two stories tall.

Bottom line the Hulk was thicker but squatter then the Destroyer

The Destoryer was definitly taller and leaner...

Could have swore that the Destroyer looked more than 14 ft or so tall.

the destroyer looks at least 12ft. tall in those images.

I hope we get some cameos from other villains like the Destroyer (doesn't have to be Thor villains necessarily) who aren't the main villain but will feature in some way in the Avengers.

Was just thinking about it...

What if that last Hulk out in TIH was actually Loki taking control and not necessarily Banner finally gaining any control of the change.

That smile that Norton gave always seemed a little evil/devilish too me. Would make for an interesting twist to how it has been percieved for a while.

Anyway just my randomly wondering of the afternoon.

I like this idea better than Banner being in control. The whole idea of him hulking out is that he reaches a point where he's no longer in control, emotionally...that's what Hulk is all about.

But if he doesn't have at least a minimal amount of control when he's the Hulk he will be more of a danger to the team and the public than an ally. Whedon is going to have to find some balance between the raging, uncontrolled Hulk and a Banner-in-charge version or it won't work. I am sure that he managed that, however.

Hulk can be heroic without Banner being in control.

Agreed; I mean if the Hulk is to be portrayed as more hero than menace in this film, along with what Tom said about the end having a scene where Loki is on the ground looking at the Avengers, with the Hulk, being a part of them, then that must mean that he's learned to maintain some form of control.

I don't want Hulk to be less ripped than the average bodybuilder though. That would seem a bit lame if he was standing next to one.

But they only look that way for their contests because they've just been pumping iron before going on stage to pose. Hulk shouldn't look like that. I'm not saying he shouldn't be ripped, but he shouldn't look like someone who is about to go on stage. Bodybuilders the rest of the time don't look exactly the same as when in competition mode.

Hulk should be ripped like the TIH version, but his torso, hips, and thighs should be wider as with the Ang Version. That is where explosive power comes from. TIH version of the Hulk had the bodybuilder "V" torso, which looks nice but doesn't suggest maximum lifting power.

The way Romita drew him in WWH was a nice blend of definition and functional mass.

I wonder if we'll get to see Erik Selvig and Bruce Banner interact with each other in this film?

Hulk is a raging force, but some of Banner's personality traits are present in Hulk, like his compassion for innocent life, etc....that should be enough.

Whenever there are instances of banner controlling Hulk, i get the Men In Black alien vibe, with the tiny alien riding inside the head of the human/android...

That would be cool with me

Banner doesn't really need to be in control. Hulk is a very simplistic character when it comes to his actions. You bug him, he smashes. You act indifferent or don't insult or attack him, he can either ignore or consider you a friend.
