If that's what floats your boat, sure. I always thought Hulk shouldn't look too much like Banner. The first concept art for TIH was the perfect look for Hulk. The fact that Angs Hulk looked so much like Eric Bana was what alot of ppl had gripes with, as did i.

The rendering looks great; it's the face i have an issue with, but like i said, maybe that shot is a mid transformation shot.

I don't want to spark this up anymore than I already have in the past, but IMO, it only makes sense, and SOME, not all, but some, artists have portrayed it that way. It's a transformation, it's not as if the Hulk has his own skeleton that magically appears and than disappears.

It's the same skull, elongated, same jaw, protruding, same brow, more brutish. Hell, even Bixby looked somewhat like Lou Ferrigno in between transformations wearing the makeup, but I digress...

I'm ok with either direction . As Doc Sampson says , it does complete the transformation to have Mark's face , so it was a good call on that one.

I guess I thought that Banner should be unassuming, so as far as I'm concerned, Ruffalo nailed it. I really want to see Bruce Banner as a skilled scientist in a movie. That's something I did think was missing from Ang Lee's Hulk and TIH, even though I really, really loved TIH far more than the first version. That's just me though.

That's the kind of personality I want Banner to have in this. Hopefully they also focus on his scientific ability..should complement/conflict well with Stark. Also I prefer when the Hulk resembles Banner in some way. It helps with the emotional connection with Hulk for anyone who knows Banner.

There's simply not enough, at least for me, to draw any sort of conclusion in terms of how the Hulk looks. It does seem that Banner isn't in this as much as we might have thought however, relegating him even further as just some dude we're waiting to transform, not caring or worrying about him as an individual in his own right. Hope I'm wrong...

You're probably right. And it's all natural when you mix a dozen of important characters in one movie, you're probably not going to have enough time to develop anything properly. Giving the Ruffalo's Banner/Hulk character his first shot in this movie is some big disservice. But for me the whole idea of Avengers as a movie is like thinking 'So I love pizza, strawberry ice-cream and pork chops with apple sauce so I'll put all of that in a mincer and eat it for it'll be the best meal ever done.'

Anyways, Hulk looked good to me.

He never has in the comic. Why should the movies go out of there way to do this?

I mean, he is only an extension of Banner, only bigger, greener and a slight attitude. t:

To say that would be to say that a nuclear bomb is just an extension of a sparkler. They do not resemble one another at all.

I guess some wanted the Hulk from TIH?

I think what we wanted was consistency.

And for what it's worth, while very quick and short, I think the Hulk looks AWESOME in the trailer!!

And this is why Rhythm and Hues can't compare to Weta or ILM. The level of detail and the way the captured 'angry' Hulk looks so much more real than glassy eyed Hulk in the other shot.

I know it's very early but that shot alone look like the most realistic representation of Hulk so far and I'm saying that as a lover of both previous Hulk films.
