I didn't like the "flat head" Hulk either, everyone else seems to love it but I never did.

Consider me one of those who didn't like it either. FrankenHulk was never a favorite.

What is this "flat head" Hulk of which you guys are speaking?

so I read on another site that del Toro was going to realize the Hulk for the T.V. show in a fashion similar to what he use for Hellboy - this sounds like prosthetics to me - and could look great if done right - which HB was!

And if the way the Hulk looked in Avengers #1 is what is being considered the "flat head" look - then that IS the way he should look - that is the classic - proper look for the Hulk
~nuff said~

Probably not my favorite look for Hulk, but I don't mind the flat head look as much as others seem to.

I just recently watched Hellboy II: The Golden Army, and I have to say if the television show looks anything like that movie, it will be a visual masterpiece.

I didn't mind this look:

It looks very 60-ish and almost Cold War-ish. It gives him a feel of these early Universal monsters too.

If that's the case, then it might end up looking better than Hulk in the Avengers. They should consider using the same techniques as Del Toro if his Hulk looks more realistic.

I understand fans love of the Savage Hulk. However, how can you expect a character as abused as the Savage Hulk to remain childlike and innocent forever. He may have started out niave and childlike but children learn and their personalities change in response to their environment. The Hulk's environment has never been the most nurturing.

I think Green Scar is a natural evolution for a character that is constantly feared, mistrusted and abused. Should it be his personality in the Avengers?

I would like to see at least some cunningand growth in the character but I think full blown Green Scar would miss the mark. Maybe down the road.

Hence the reason I said "everyone else seems to love it".

I wouldn't say I love it. I wouldn't want that look for a movie, or perhaps anything other than an early Hulk incarnation before his look evolves to something with which we are more familiar. I prefer classic Sal Buscema Hulk myself.

Not a fan of that look

He doesn't look particularly strong in the original drawings, either. His body looks like that of a large man with very big hands and feet, but the bulging mass (which is an absolute necessity) isn't there.

here is some cool artwork i found by an artist named Damir Martin. cool combination of the two movie Hulks. The face is a little stange with the veins but a great piece of art none the less.

^ It looks like an elderly man with wrinkles and man boobs has turned into the Hulk. Why does he have shaven armpits and what are those pock marks on his biceps?

Hulk's face does look pretty wierd in that picture, but he did capture the savagery that Hulk use whenever he fights.

Overall that look is pretty cool, but I agree about the chest. It doesn't look quite right, like he does have a set of flat moobs going.

Change the face and get rid of the moobs and that'll be excellent.
