edit: also, ILM/WETA/Whoever , working on the visual effects gives me even more hope. his split second in the trailer blew me away. I love all of the avengers, excited for cap mostly but maaaaan, i hope and pray that the hulk is done RIGHT.

When I read this I instantly thought of the NyCC scene that was shown where Banner exclaimed "STOP LYING TO ME!!!" when widow confronted him.

But was that Banner or was that a supressed rage monster???

When I really think about it; it kind of make sense to have Bruce Banner portrayed as someone who’s actively trying to help out people instead of constantly trying to find a means to cure himself of the Hulk disease given the fact that the Hulk is scheduled to be portrayed as a heroic figure, far more than he was in the last two films in the Avengers. Whereas in TIH, the Hulk was portrayed as more of a liability at first and wasn’t shown in a complete heroic light till his confrontation with the Abomination.

On a side note; anyone else find the irony in the idea that if Fury assigned Widow to specifically watch over Banner, let alone if rumors/theories are true that they develop something for each other, that it’s somewhat counterproductive if they’re trying to suppress the Hulk at first considering that as far as we’ve seen, Banner can’t get too “excited” otherwise he’ll turn into the Hulk, and if you’ve seen BW, you’ll find that getting excited is something that most men would find hard NOT TO DO when seeing her. =P

Sounds like a good character development, though I don't understand how Hawkeye's arrow is supposed to pierce the skin of HULK, unless he has some Adamantium-tipped arrows.

The most concerning thing to me is the look of HULK. If he is built like suggested and similar to the concept art we should be good. ILM taking back the HULK, I hope they find a good balance between TIH and their original incantation of the HULK (which had too big a head). Not as thin and cut as TIH, but maybe a bit more bulk, without appearing pudgy. If he is shorter than nine-feet, it better not be much! HULK is supposed to tower over people... And if would make sense if S.H.I.E.L.D. has issued Banner a pair of pants that are able to withstand his transformation.

I'm thinking that in regards to the arrows, it's not meant to pierce his skin, but that it emits a heavy and powerful sleeping gas that knocks him out, perhaps when he's at his weakest.

They are pulling the whole Hawkeye using adamantium tipped tranq arrows thing from The Ultimates. I guess they have to have some way of dealing with him if he goes on a Hulk rampage, so I think it will work on screen.

I'm hoping Hulk get's shot with those arrows while he's locked in combat with Thor, that way Hulk's rampage can be stopped with out either of them having to be "defeated".

Yeah and I pray that it ends in a stalemate so both characters can look good, Hawkeye intervening with tranq arrows are a perfect way for it to end without either of them losing.

If that's the case, then Hulk will be vulnerble to a villain smart enough to use high impact adamantium tip ammunition.

One thing I did like about ultimate Hulk (maybe the only thing) was how his body would adapt to different situations. I know regular Hulk has this ability somewhat but the ultimate Hulk's was far more advanced. Now, if Hawkeye can pierce the Hulk's skin the first time with adamantium tipped arrows I think it'll be really cool to see him try again another time and the arrow just bouncing off then seeing the look of wtf on his face.

I still think the arrow hawkeye uses could just be an arrow that releases knockout gas, if it isn't one that pierces his skin.

^Well if that happens once again I will be dissapointed, no arrow, no matter what it does, should be able to stop The Hulk, especially in full rampage mode, this has been thing that they are doing that has really dissapointed me thusfar.

we'll have to wait and see, I believe joss will have a unique way of individualizing each avenger, and hulk's should be special.

Seriously, that's the holy grail of on screen awesomeness IMO. Seeing those two duke it out would be a dream come true.
I have a feeling we'll be seeing all the Avengers tackle the Hulk as a group.

Nothing so far. But seeing as how heroes fighting heroes has always been a mainstay of Marvel comics since the 60s, and we saw a brief glimpse of Thor v Captain America in the trailer, I say it's more than likely.

Well there was a tweet a few months ago that confirmed a scene where Hulk throws part of a car at Thor during a fight between them.

^Thank God, was starting to worry that we werent going to get a fight between them, I mean Thor vs Cap should be good but lets face it, Cap wouldnt last long in a proper fight with Thor, at least with Hulk and Thor we can get a nice long slugfest.

Yeah, hopefully Hulk doesn't flatten Thor this time around and they both get shown respect by standing toe to toe with each other.
