Thor's mother is an elder god (Jord) and his father is an Asgardian sky father, so yeah he's a full god.

Actually there both powerhouses and strength isn't the only factor in being a powerhouse, Thor's vast array of large scale weather controlling abilities makes him just as much as a powerhouse as Hulk.

I understand your Asgardian comment, I was making the statement there is only one God...

I love Thor, but you aren't suggesting he is as strong as HULK are you? The weather thing is a cool advantage, but lightning I could only see making HULK angrier. I would say Thunder Clap vs. Whirlwind canceling each other out. Thor would have to use his brain to have any chance against HULK IMO. Let's not forget the advantage of HULK's endurance as well. It is unlimited, just as his strength.

Point is this; Thor is used to smashing over ice giants and whatnot on a regular basis, so you think he will be expecting any more from a jade giant? I think not... plus Thor wields a hefty ego with that hammer. I love what they've done with Thor and Chris Hemsworth, but I think it would be bad judgment on the part of Joss Whedon to have HULK defeated by anyone, other than a strategic attack.

That being said though and as much as we'd like to see this happen, I'm more anxious to see what they do as a team... Who could pose a challenge to those two, let alone the four of them, and the assistance of S.H.I.E.L.D.??? Loki better have some pretty stunning help! The Avengers brain trust + tech + heavy hitters looks pretty tough to me...

Dude I never said his was strong as Hulk, but they're ALOT closer in strength than what's been shown in the media not to mention they STALEMATED each other in a grabbling contest that lasted an hour.

Hulks beat Thor several times in the comics just as Thor's beaten him several times in the comics, they're equals in my books.

Thor is as strong as base level Hulk. But obviously Hulk's strength increases as he gets angrier, whereas Thor's stays at the same level. Unless he goes into Warriors Madness.

Well he's actually stronger than base level Hulk and what people fail to realize is that strength is only one aspect of a battle.

Being stronger than someone does not guarantee you a victory, strongest doesn't always equal "winner".

That's what I said... No disagreement there, nor do I want to disrespect Thor, he's awesome! The fact that HULK never grows weary is his biggest advantage.

As I said as well, I'm more about what they do as a team... It isn't going to make or break the movie if they have a brawl. I'd like to see HULK have to save the hellicarrier or some crazy feat like that!

I think some people misunderstood the point of this discussion, it's about both character's being on the same playing field not about Thor > Hulk or Hulk > Thor.

As I said as well, I'm more about what they do as a team... It isn't going to make or break the movie if they have a brawl. I'd like to see HULK have to save the hellicarrier or some crazy feat like that!

Now that's what I'm the most excited about seeing, I've always wanted to see a proper Thor/Hulk team up instead of them always having to fight.

I think it would make more sense if Thor caught the Heli-Carrier though since he can fly and all, but it would be awesome if there was a scene where Hulk stops an entire builing from falling (plus a building is much heavier than the Heli-Carrier).

The latest report is that in the next trailer, Thor and Hulk are shown striking eachother at the same time in slo mo. It sounds like Hulk gets a face full of Mjolnir, and Thor gets a Gamma powered right cross on the chin.

Whedon is a comic book geek like the rest of us, so I think he'll make the moment when Hulk and Thor throw down pretty kick ass. I hope so anyway.

It would be so cool to see on how they filmed a fight between Thor and Hulk given the fact that Mark Fuffalo is portraying the Hulk this time around with a motion capture suit, so it'd be pretty interesting to see some behind the scenes footage of how they'd look filming it.lol
