Here it is. And Masterson was just an architect. He was weaker than regular Thor and had practically no experience to boot.

Seriously? Thor said "It's Hammer Time!"? Also, "Hasta-La-Vista baby!"? Who the heck wrote that? XD

:wow: I can't believe you just said that!!! Hulk beat the living Hell out of Galdiator when they fouhgt. Galdiator was loosing so bad he tryed to grab hulk and fly him into space to sufficate him and when he did that Hulk Thunder Claped his Head.

That doesn't mean much, apart from the writer ignoring or forgetting that Gladiator is FTL and can explode planets with punches. Happens all the time in comics. It's why Black Panther put Silver Surfer in an arm bar, instead of the Surfer just going intangible or making BP think he was a house cat. :D

Seriously, if you went by the characters consistent power levels, Gladiator could hit Hulk with a 1000 planet busting punches before Hulk even realised he was in a fight. He's basically Pre-Crisis Superman, which is ridiculous levels of power. But, it would make for a boring fight and Hulk is more popular than Gladiator.

It's called plot induced stupidity.

It wasn't Eric Masterson, a normal guy, speaking, so it's understandable.
Btw, Thor beat Gladiator badly in their second fight during Jurgens run.

I think the comics say different then you do...and i'm inclined to believe them over your opinion.

also, does anybody else think that Gladiator is like Marvel's way of putting Supes to shame by basically having a superman like character that gets beat up by various marvel characters

I know i'm gonna get a lot of flak for this but....i'm willin to bet there will be a rematch between hulk and zeus in future which may surprise the god of lightning

It's not my opinion. It's a fact that Gladiator is FTL, as proven on multiple occasions. He's basically a flying Wally West with the strength of Pre-Crisis Superman.

But when he fights more popular characters, the writer ignores this fact because 1. it would make the fight really boring and 2. he's not popular enough to make chumps out of the likes of Hulk and Thor.

You can't take everything in the comics at face value. I mean really, do you think it's good writing and makes sense that Black Panther can defeat the Silver Surfer?

Sorry, but Hulk has no place fighting a Skyfather. They're in another level.

well, the Imperial Guard was lifted from the Legion of Super Heroes, which I guess makes Gladiator their Superman.

No one has a place fighting a Skyfather. Apart from other Skyfathers or cosmic heavyweights.

I'd like to see another fight between them, but Zeus destroys Hulk every time. Zeus is not only a god, but he's one of the Skyfathers. I don't even see the Green Scar being able to beat Zeus.

and yet it DID happen and he is still alive. I think that says something. Two things to take away from that. The writers are saying that Hulk can withstand almost anything in the universe; including fighting with THE top god on Olympus. Also, from a purely marketing standpoint Hulk would crush Zeus in less than 1 issue. Hulk is a brand name; zeus not at all

Beat Zeus? No. But not take as bad of a beating and probably make Zeus limp back to Olympus? Yeah, Green Scar could do that.

Honestly, people sometimes don't get the exact idea of how powerful a skyfather is. We're talking about gods, with immeasurable powers, and who, specially in their domains (Asgard in the case of Odin) are basically omnipotent. The same could be said about other mystical entities (Dormammu in the Dark dimension, Mephisto in his Hell, etc). No matter what incarnation of the Hulk we're talking here; it's not even a fight.

The fact that Hulk survived says that Hulk is more popular. The in story reason could be Zeus was holding back. I mean this is a being who could just dump Hulk into another dimension for all of eternity if he wanted. Or drain the Gamma from him, reverting him to plain old Bruce Banner and squish him like a bug.

But again, that would make for a boring fight and Hulk is more popular :D

Yeah, it's just that Zeus promised he would give him a fist fight only.

When a god fights a mortal, they basically are trying to teach them some humility or a lesson. They could kill them easily, but they drag it out and let them live it down because they're just...a-holes. Zeus knew the reason Hulk was there, he wasn't gonna kill him for that. But the fact that Hulk had the gall to actually challenge him, that was the issue.

I wonder how Juggernaut would do against Zeus? Marko is the Avatar of a god, so how would he hold up against the king of the gods?

How do you know he could "drain the gamma" from hulk....and your first point is exactly what i'm saying. Hulk is the character we read comics for, not zeus; therefore Hulk will eventually win in a fight between them. Hulk has been shown in the past to lose a battle with what seems to be a more powerful entity from time to time but when push comes to shove he WILL overcome any obstacle: I mean this is the whole point of his abilities: they are limitless...gamma is the most powerful energy in the universe btw

The funny thing is if the writers did want to write a story with Hulk beating a top tier god, they most likely would have hulk go though some type of trail where he acquires some special weapon and Armor that would put them on par with them.

People seem to forget that any writer can write anything into a comic. You may not want Hulk to do anything like that but It could happen. :cwink:

I mean Thor became just as powerful as Odin at one point didn't he.

Gladiator is now where near as powerful as PC Supes, who could destroy whole solar systems with a sneeze, drag whole Galaxies worth of planets, fly across the universe in seconds.
