IT IS NOT CAP'S SHIELD!

It's just a glowy circular desk Tony has.

Cap's shield is red, BRIGHT red. To suggest that this is a microscopic little cameo for Captain America is absurd.

You're all looking too hard.

That's what I saw also. I saw the movie today and knew there would be a scene with the sheild,so I payed special attention and when I saw it in the theater. It wasn't the shield,if anyone who saw the movie looked close enough,the star wasn't attached. It was slightly above the desk,a optical illusion the scene shot shows it too. Look at the star,it's raised above. The shield it's self looks to be a small transparent dome with a blue and white circle on it.

I think the shield is just for the comic nerds. Something extra for everyone.
I doubt it will mix in at all with the plot. At most he is a collector. And a super hero shield would be expensive.
Most of all its just some Avengers foreshadowing.

That's what I thought. Those who read the comic would know what it is,it's just for fun. A gag.

Looks awesome, but it'll probably be as hard to find as the War Machine figure (haven't found it yet).

I feel like it was a teaser image. But I don't know if he ever actually donned the armor... yet....

In case there is any doubt left, ABSOLUTELY that is Cap's shield as confirmed by an ILM employee on another board. He mentions that there are many easter eggs but that is the biggest.

Link to post? It's really easy to make things up, so you'll forgive me if I doubt it without proof. I really think this is just reaching big time. I don't see it looking much like Cap's shield. It doesn't even have the red in it.

I see what you're saying, but it looks like a reflection to me. I'd like to believe (just call me Mulder), but I'm not yet convinced. It'll be great to get the DVD or a really good quality bootleg to find out for sure. I wouldn't put it past them to include this, as they've done with the other "Easter Eggs", but I remain partially unconvinced.

Also confirmed was the rumored Captain America shield that is visible in Iron Man, saying it was meant more as an easter egg and doesn’t have anything more to do with the each other.

I love spot the difference competitions. I hope it wasn't just a gag though. Tony being the inventor of Cap's shield would be really cool, IMO, but would make the post-credits scene confusing though.

The guy at Marvel said it was only added in for s*its and giggles. There's really no reason for it other than to give us something to oooh and ahhh over.

It's confirmed that it is Caps shield.

Feige also confirmed that it was definitely the Captain America shield that was seen in IRON MAN on Tony Stark's work-station as he's removing his suit for the first time. It's just an Easter Egg and probably won't have anything to do with the Capt. America story.
