The Reboot Joker

Long shot here, but I think Jonny Lee Miller would make a solid Joker. I think he has to chops to pull off a pretty intense portrayal.

Or we'll go with the flavor of the week: Michael Pitt.

Lazy choice, but how about Andrew Scott?

But I think it's too soon, even if it'll be 8 years by the time the movie comes out.

8 years was enough time to go from Clooney to Bale, and Schumacher to Nolan. As great as Ledger was, I don't think audiences are averse to a newcomer coming along. Especially if he's great in his own right.

People love that Joker.

^ To me, Joker as henchman (or puppetmaster) would be more interesting if they show him again. Fluctuating between both would also be nice :)

We've seen him as a fantastical terrorist in Batman 89 and as a rogue mobster in TDK. Let's see him step back and allow himself to not take center stage. Until his compulsions stand in his way ;)

I think they are. Ledger won a damn Academy Award for his portrayal, and the film already has an uphill battle with Batman appearing in this film since the Nolan trilogy just ended. We don't need WB biting off more than they can chew, if they haven't already that is, and Joker should probably be the primary antagonist if he is to make a reappearance on-screen. If they don't put most of their efforts into reintroducing the character in a glorious fashion, the GA won't rally behind it and they'll crash and burn. I think they should wait until Bats has his own solo series again.

Willem Dafoe is like 105 years old.

It's nearly a 20 year age gap between the two, that's even more than Keaton and Nicholson. There are plenty of talented 40 year olds in the appropriate talent range to play the character.

I've no desire to see a 60 year old Joker.

I think they would need an A-list actor so that the GA can feel more comfortable with someone taking up the mantle after Heath.

If the DCCU, particularly BvS and Justice League, is not well-received, I think they will have great difficulty getting an A-list talent for the role. Affleck's name may draw actor appeal though.

I don't think an A-list name is needed at all. The hype train started for Ledger well before release, with the various trailer and promo material. And he was following the gargantuan footsteps of Jack Nicholson.

If the next actor who steps in the role is as brilliant as he should be, the material will speak for itself and get people talking.

terrorism
ˈtɛrərɪzəm/
noun
noun: terrorism
the unofficial or unauthorized use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims.

Nicholson's Joker was not a terrorist.

Tilda Swinton.

Am I the only one around here who really wants to see The Ventriloquist in a movie? I think he'd make an awesome film villain.

I'm sure I saw this around here somewhere...but thinking about his acting style, his voice, and his presence, he would be a very good fit:

Especially in the below picture, he's almost the spitting image of the Joker from the AA and AC games:

Then again :)

But there's also this:

I'd be happy with either. I love Willem Dafoe.

David Bowie is a very inspired, interesting choice.

Shia LaBeouf for The Joker? C'mon now.

Adrien Brody is a pretty cool suggestion though.

Like I said, not liking the choice was part of my point. Hell, I don't even like it lol.

I just really don't think Snyder will cast an obvious choice like Brody. It's a major character and Brody just isn't inspired enough of a casting choice to really get people talking. WB is going to want to replicate the fervor that Ledger's casting created. They'd be crazy not to. So much free publicity.

Shia's life is like an origin story for a crazy person right now haha.

Tilda Swinton.

I honestly believe this could happen.

Tilda Swinton would be amazing for the androgynous looking Joker. Does anyone remember thr Powerpuff Girls, I imagine it being like Him from that.
