Lee is playing himself. For 50 years he was editor of marvel which made him "the one above all".
On his decision galactus the living tribunal eternity and spiderman could have been killed he helped create some of marvels most iconic characters. And when the one above all appeared in the ff he gave permission to give him jack kirby's face. The only person that could chose the one above all's appearance is the one above all and that was stan lee and that is who he is playing in all the films.

My theory is the title will be [BLACKOUT]Infinity Gauntlet, where Wars is about the fight over the stones which ends with Thanos successfully assembling the the gauntlet in a "Oh ****" moment[/BLACKOUT]

If F4 were going to appear in Infinity war I think we'd hear a lot more about it through leaks. No way something that big wouldn't get out by now. If there is a deal, I'm betting it's to let the contract expire. I wouldn't be expecting and F4 characters to show up anytime until after the expiration date.

Marvel was able to hide the Shawarna post credits scene, the original GOTG (Stallone/Yeoh/Cyrus/et al) in Vol 2, the Spider-Man deal (if it wasn't for the hackers leaking the emails), Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther, Benedict as Doctor Strange, Kingpin in DD season 2, and so many more instances where they have been super secretive and people don't find out until the movie/Netflix show premiered.

I am quite confident that Marvel ie Feige will be tight lipped on Fantastic Four coming home so as not to steal any thunder away from their upcoming projects...as well as to save the reveal to STEAL ANY THUNDER from any upcoming DCEU announcements (Marvel Studios tends to make big announcements right after DC/WB for some reason).

The attraction has Disney easter eggs in addition to the Marvel and MCU ones, so the ocean artifact could be a reference to a Disney franchise such as The Little Mermaid, Atlantis: The Lost Empire or Captain Nemo.

While it would be great to have Namor in the MCU, it just adds to the long list of characters who debuted (in Namor's case the modern resurection) in the FF and are now being featured in the MCU while the FF are stuck at *&^%$^%$# Fox:

Black Panther
Ronan, The Accuser
The Inhumans
Adam Warlock
Klaw
Watchers
Maybe Namor

And I'm sure others.

Holy ****!! Has anyone seen these quotes on New Mutants?

"Held in a secret facility against their will, five new mutants have to battle the dangers of their powers, as well as the sins of their past. They aren’t out to save the world — they’re just trying to save themselves."

"We are making a full-fledged horror movie set within the X-Men universe. There are no costumes. There are no supervillains. We’re trying to do something very, very different."

Leave it to Fox to be different by trying THE EXACT SAME FORMULA THAT JUST BOMBED MISERABLY!!

:funny:

If it wasn't Fox, I'd almost feel sorry for them.

They forgot the body horror bit. :o

Although they did get it right about being held at a secret facility against their will. That's what it was with the cast of FFINO. :o

Legion is fantastic so will give it a go.

What is it they are copying (don't watch everything cb related).

Yeah when i read that i immediately thought fant4stic. Which when you think about it, fox loves to stick their characters in underground facilities and in wooded areas. Like its in almost all of their superhero movies.

Well, chances are you yourself weren't going to see or be into it either way, let's be honest. Also, Josh Boone is no Josh Trank, but sure, bonafide failure from the start. Though...you'd probably prefer that.

My lack of interest in any crap Fox wants to fling against the wall has nothing to do with how freakin' funny those quotes are in the context of Fant4stic. :funny:

Now that you mentioned it Willie... :funny:

That being said it actually makes sense with this property.

It seems to match the Fox formula (which works sometimes and doesn't work other times), but it is completely recognizable as the Fox formula despite claims that it is "very, very different" and that's part of what I find funny.

"Held in a secret facility against their will (Like Wolverine, Deadpool, Fant4stic, Legion), five new mutants have to battle the dangers of their powers, as well as the sins of their past (Like Wolverine, Deadpool, Legion). They aren’t out to save the world — they’re just trying to save themselves (Like Wolverine, Deadpool, Legion, Fant4stic)."

"We are making a full-fledged horror movie set within the X-Men universe. There are no costumes (Like Wolverine, Legion, Fant4stic,
Chronicle
). There are no supervillains. We’re trying to do something very, very different."

Secret facilities are cheap set pieces. They can be a ****ing warehouse anywhere. And have like the first half of your movie there and you're saving pennies.

And saving money is also part of the Fox formula.:cwink:

Lol that's pretty accurate.

Again, though, they always had them, but never used them until now? And when they did end up using them, they served a (non-)purpose that could have been filled in any other film? Further, Gunn heard the fan theory and liked it... for Guardians 2, but not the first one? (Perhaps the first Guardians predates the
Lee-as-Uatu
theory, though; if someone could verify this, I'd appreciate it.) They only theories I can come up with to explain this is that Gunn, while in the process of developing the first film, never got word of said theory (if by being made aware by Marvel Studios, then at least his own "research"- after all, it only takes a few mouse clicks to find these ideas), or that Gunn, changed his mind from disliking the theory to liking it? What made him change his mind? Also, I can buy Gunn liking the theory, but what I don't think I can buy is that none of the other directors heard this fan theory and liked it. After all, if they did, surely one of them would have filmed it, or at least made plans about it, which we would later hear about.... Well, I think I've taken this theory as far as I can; again, it's still fun to speculate, though. As I sit here wondering about all of this, I'm reminded of something that one of my old professors once told me: I'm forgetting that people don't always think or act as rationally as I might expect them to.

I'm not entirely sure why you feel you need a theory to explain any of this. It's all very straight forward. It's a fun thing that Gunn put in the movie. That's it.

Marvel, yes. Fox, I'm not quite sure. And there were a bunch of rumors that a Spider-man deal was being discussed, the hack just confirmed it. I just feel like we'd hear at least one reputable website with a source say something. But who knows.

Tony Stark: It's a new technique to filmmaking, we're making a horror superhero movie.
Happy Hogan: It's called saving money, there's nothing new about it.

:p

Didn't Josh Trank say Fant4stic would be a body horror David Cronenberg movie?

He also said that a year prior to release he had a fantastic version of that film :o

I'm just saying calling it a horror movie isn't exactly a new thing.

Yes. If those quotes (with slightly modified wording) had come out during the production of Fant4stic, it wouldn't have even been slightly incongruous. It would have fit perfectly with everything else we were hearing.
