The Rebooted "Keep Hope Alive" (that the rights can revert back to Marvel) Thread - Part 10

I hope so.

I'm pissed. He must be going nuclear.

A good studio also trusts their directors to do their jobs and they wouldn't have hired Simon Kinberg if they all felt the same way as you do.

Evidence supporting the hypothesis that Fox is "a good studio"?
:sly:

And it feels clear to me that this is being done out of spite. They literally just don't want Marvel to have the rights back

You know, we've talked about this scenario before.
Let's do what we said we'd do, perversely enjoy the internet armageddon headed towards FOX.

Of course, I won't be able to enjoy it until I've gotten over the news, which won't be for some time.

Fox, give it up. You already tried the 'kid-friendly' thing in 2005. It didn't work then it won't work now.

I just can't handle it.

There are literally lifelong F4 fans even here among this forum that will probably never get to see a proper movie of their favourite characters because of these *****ebags.

How does this make any sense at all.

I'm gonna reserve my rage for when or if this rumour is confirmed.

Looks like I was right. I like this news!

A) It's a rumor and B) If it ever gets made I am sure that "The Fantastikids Fun Time Smile Film" will do as well as FFINO, which so many non-FF fans loved up until the time it made it to theaters and they fled like rats when it crashed and burned.

That being said. ...If this is true I put the blame 100% on Disney and Marvel. FOX can't control themselves when it comes to making bad decisions with the FF. It is Disney's responsibility to prevent it, including REFUSING TO SIGN OFF ON ANY X-MEN TV DEALS UNLESS THERE IS A COMMITMENT TO EARLY RELEASE OF THE FF.

I've been a huge fan of the MCU for the last 10 years, but the shine is coming off with the lack of connectivity between TV and film, losing the Inhumans movie and the possibility of no FF in Phase 4.

For the time being treat it as a rumor. We can all get suitably infuriated should it be confirmed.

Until then it's a waste if energy, imo.

OH, FOR **** SAKE!!!!

That settles it, we must rallie together and send Kinberg's directorial debut to hell so this can follow as a result. Enough, Fox! ENOUGH!!!

Before everyone gets all emotional, it's a rumor from Bleeding Cool. Bleeding Cool is often hit and miss with these types of reports.

Second of all, just because Fox is thinking of this idea doesn't necessarily mean it will happen or happen this way either.

Agreed

Exactly, it could be just one of many pitches the source heard, an intentional leak to pressure marvel into a deal, or just complete BS. Like most rumors you've read about movies that turned out to be completely false but have forgotten by the time the actual movie came out.

I will say this. Sounds better than a "dark and gritty" fantastic four.

Don't worry. If they get this one wrong this time, they'll go dark and gritty again on the next go round. :o

Haters gonna hate!!!

We've gone through this before, with the FOX First loyalists flooding these boards before FFINO and then skulking into the shadows once it was released. You've got enough to worry about with Writer/Director/Producer Simon Kinberg's Dark Phoenix.

They can't possibly be serious? They do know that the fanboy venom will be mind blowing right? If they try to announce this at SDCC they will be booed out of Hall H. There will be boycotts, campaigns, petitions, revolution...there will be revolution!!!!!!!

Don't forget: FOX also tried to make a Daredevil film to hold the rights but it became such a mess that the rights reverted to marvel
