The Rebooted "Keep Hope Alive" (that the rights can revert back to Marvel) Thread - Part 10

Does anyone think this rumor is to gauge whether FOX should pull ahead with another FF film? Like the fact that there's a reaction (even if its negative) means that there's interest in the Fantastic Four, which means that they can milk this franchise for all its worth (even though Fant4stic bombed hard)?

Dear God. All I want to see before I die is a good Fantastic Four movie. Is that too much to ask for?

Yes. Yes it is - God.

I would say that any fan who actually cares about the FF understands that after three awful FOX films the First Family's best possible home is in the MCU. Those that don't know what F followed by another F is shorthand for and have pledged loyalty to FOX Studios regardless of the quality of their output would feel otherwise.

Anybody that is talking about boycotting other films to spite Fox is lying up the @$$.
They're not making another F4 film, but y'all still going to see Caesar or Deadpool (or don't but they'll still make money without you).

Deadpool is the only one I'm interested in. They deserve all the credit in the world there. I have no desire to see any more Fox-Marvel films, especially Dark Phoenix which will make BvS look like a freaking masterpiece.

Gunn and Feigi have said that there are no plans for Fantastic Four. This rumor makes that claim even more believable.

If Fox really is going to try once again, I do think that making a kid friendly movie that focuses on Franklin and Valeria is their best option. Or at least the option least likely to fail.

"IF" this is true, I will do something I've said I'd never do in the past. I WILL boycott every, single Fox SH movie. I loved Deadpool, but will NOT pay a penny to see DP2.

Go ahead and throw your hit or miss $#!t up against the wall. You won't see a penny from me.

No. IF this is true, I am not lying, but, yes, they'll still make money without me. They just won't make "my" money.

BTW, the fact that you say "or don't" concedes that you know some of us aren't lying.

What about if Fox has the genius idea of, "hey GOTG made a ****load of money, more than any SH movie we ever made....and it was all because of Baby Groot, so I present to you Baby Thing!"?

I actually Fox to try it, for the lulz alone. Sorry everyone :(

I thought they had a Baby Thing in Fant4stic.... I don't think it was operational.

Yes it is. I understand your feelings, but you can't buck your hopes on life to getting a good FF movie :)

Then you don't deserve to be called a comic book fan. if your hate for Marvel outweights the common sense of the 4 going into the most likely place to make a good movie out of them then you are a biased fanatic.

That wasn't a baby thing. That was more like Fox's sperm couldn't even fertilise the egg because it kept shooting blanks. :o

That's depressing.

I wonder if the majority of Fox loyalists are actual comic book fans, going against these characters' interests.

Just visualize this with whatever asshat runs Fox in Pascal's place, blathering on about their baby FF plans. :loco:

OMG! That's what this stupid premise feels like: A Spy Kids movie. And I don't even like Spy Kids! Honestly, if FOX couldn't get the audience to like the main characters in Fant4stic, what makes them think they'll get us to care about their two children?

it's literally the idea of the first Spy Kids movie, Kids parents go missing and hey get their parents friends to help them find the parents.

They hit a home run with Deadpool and Logan, and most of their X-Men movies are decent.

I don't know how they continue to f*** up The Fantastic Four so horribly time and time again.

So just because they hit 2 homeruns does that make them a good cmb studio? Fox has 7 well-received marvel films and 8 critically panned ones! They are less than 50% on their success rate!!!!! Who is surprised that they can't nail the 4?

People need to undestand that track records are everything in this business. Even an awful basketball plaayer can make a couple of good games. That doesn't make him a good player.

Who said they're a good comic book movie studio? I said lately they had two great CBM movies, so you'd think they're starting to get it together with their other properties, but with this news it's clear that they're not.

On paper, it's a really good idea for Fox to push forward with a family friendly FF.

Tonal diversity is important in the comic book genre. They already have an R rated hero in Deadpool. The Xmen serve as the classic comic book characters for the average film goer.

Purely from a business perspective, Fox would be stupid to give up the FF and there rouges gallery. Doom, Galactus, Silver Surfer etc.

Now the question is, can they successfully execute the plan? If they get the right creative team, I would be on board.

Like i said, a player that does 2 good games back to back is still not considered a good player. You judge someone from the sum of his work, not their latest attempts.

No, they can't execute their plan and i don't care if it's stupid or not. The rights should be with Marvel and everyone included Fox knows that. Period.

My ideal scenario if this doesn't go back to Marvel is a 60s period piece directed by Brad Bird. I don't know if that would fit with Marvel's plans but obviously Marvel getting the rights back either way would be preferable to most.
