The Rebooted "Keep Hope Alive" (that the rights can revert back to Marvel) Thread - - - - - Part 14

I really hope that when we do get the announcement, there'll be some actual details to the report, and not just "Yup. Disney bought 20th Century Fox... 'kay bye!". I guess after seventeen years, though, I know I'll be ecstatic either way. Beggars can't be choosers!
Quite a few publications are slowly hinting at a few deals. The Guardian's bit from above is one. When Disney's previous deals were announced, the financial terms were disclosed (stock+cash, etc).

Iger will probably have a few things to say given the sheer size of the buyout. This will be Disney's biggest ever, so there is no way they will stay quiet on it. Meanwhile, I've been looking a bit more into the Sky deal a bit. This could be a monumental moment for Disney if/when they get the full company for that.

I agree with all of this. Especially the "K bye" which made me chuckle.

I want all the juicy details as well.

Hope was kept alive. In a only a couple of hours, hope will be rewarded.

The band is back together. At long last.

It won't be a couple of hours. 2 hours from now is only about 8pm EST of today, which isn't even the same day that the stock market opens tomorrow.

It's not over until that big green guy in the middle, along with his family, and that blue/red guy next to him, along with his family, are 100% back home.

That said, don't count your chickens before they hatch :)

Well it certainly shouldn't be renamed either. Even if all the rights were back, it should still keep it's original name just as a reminder of where we've come.

Who is going to announce the deal? Just the Murdochs? What about Disney and Marvel? Will they have anything to say?

I want a big announcement or press release on the Marvel website, or maybe a whole interview or panel.

Oh, that hasn't been forgotten. This is just such a massive step that it cannot be understated. SO many possibilities are now available to make other deals to get the remaining rights back.

Sony will have to know that they are an island now with a giant bullseye on them.

Hulk is already halfway back. Just need the distribution rights. Namor too. It is all a matter of time.

I know I am getting ahead of myself, but after holding back so much since the original story broke, I just need to let some of this excitement out.

True. But it's already a great victory and a huge step towards a complete MCU!

X-men were always the longest shot. I think with them likely finding their way back to Marvel is a good sign the others like Hulk, Namor, and Spider-man aren't too far behind. Especially Hulk and Spider-man who are already incorporated into the MCU.

It's the associated Hulk and Spider-Man characters that are the issue. I want to see She-Hulk, Spider-Woman and all of Hulk and Spidey's rogues gallery.

I don't want to see Silver and Black. I prefer a proper MCU Black Cat.

And Sony Venom just keeps building more traction.

On the upside they each have a foot in the door already. With as many properties that Disney is getting from Fox, they can find some way to work out something with Universal.

Sony is caught in the trap of having to be associated with the MCU. The more exposure Spider-Man has within it, the more impossible it will be for them to pull him out without suffering serious blowback.

And Sony Venom just keeps building more traction.
I'm confident that they will find a way to screw it up.

All it takes is one bomb to put those plans into halt and they'll come crawling back to Feige.

If I get up at midday, I won't have to wait any time at all for the announcement. :o

Why don't you post some of the posts of the people who were so negative during our trying times. "Marvel will never get the rights back any time soon"..........things like that. There is one poster here that comes here regularly that was a constant negative Nancy.

So, hypothetically, on the off-chance we get an announcement:sly:

... will we get an FF section, or will we just have to overtake the Marvel section with threads anticipating an FF film?

Aren’t sections made after a movie is announced?

It took us forever to get a Runaways section even when that series was in production.

There isn't an FF movie even in production at the moment. I would still like to discuss them properly in separate threads though.

This thread should be stickied at the top of the forum.

Let's do both! :awesome:
