Yeah I really cant see a world where the X-Men dont get a reboot. Dark Phoenix is pretty much DOA and if the recent leaked reddit spoilers are to be believed it seems like they will need to finally wipe the slate clean. Half the actors have reached the end of their contracts the Wolverine character wil be retired for a while, and frankly they cant keep doing these dumb period pieces anymore. The main X-Men franchise is going to be rebooted one or another no matter who gets it.In such a scenario, I would want Comcast/Universal to do a complete reboot on the X-Men. i'm beyond tired of the current universe. So even if Comcast gets it, I hope they wipe the slate clean and keep Deadpool\X-Force
Now that you mention it, a big difference between FF and Incredibles from a purely marketing standpoint is that the FF has great potential for renewal and (if done well) can easily sustain many installments (maybe even across different mediums) over the next decade, while for Incredibles, Pixar waited 14 years to make 1 follow-up.Even if Disney doesnt get Fantastic Four theyll always have the Incredibles(which is actually more popular than the FF on film).
The Incredibles 2 is the only Fantastic Four movie not made by Marvel that Im looking forward to.
Very excited for it next week. May need the Incredibles 2 to help me get over the reality of Comcast preventing the First Family from coming home.
You guys think that if the Disney / Fox deal was successful Deadpool would still be the same? With Ryan Reynolds? Secondary characters would most probably be recasted, though.
I hope you dont run out of fingernails to bite on out of nervousness cuz the wait for the decision is gonna be a heart-stopper.2 days.

Which ever way it rolls, it's going to be interesting to read the judge's reasoning behind his decision. I will be a little surprised if the judge doesn't cite past behaviors of AT&T's market abuse as examples of the deal being bad for consumers. Either way, I think the DOJ will appeal should AT&T prevail.Eh, Im going with the assumption the deal will be approved and then well go from there.. if the deal isnt approved, great! If it is, oh well, thats what I was exoecting, lets get on with it.

I expect Disney to prevail in the end for Fox. The pressure is building on Roberts to not go down this path, and if he does there will probably be detrimental effects to Comcast.
More litigation, and for AT&T that is bad. The DOJ will likely seek an injunction barring the sale be completed while the issue is further litigated. So, in essence "approved", but still held up.And what happens in the event of a DOJ appeal? Will the deal be 'approved' if there's still pending legal action?
And what about the highly likely situation in which the judge approves a large part of the deal, but requires they re-work certain elements? Will that be considered an "approval"?
With Comcast's bid hanging on an approval, things could get interesting from the perspective of a likely somewhat ambiguous situation by the end of day Tuesday.
Roberts entry isnt a ploy to frustrate Iger or drive up the price of the assets, according to people close to him. Instead, Roberts wants Foxs cable channels National Geographic, FX and regional sports networks along with Foxs expanding operations in India and Latin America.
Principle assets, but clearly getting the other pieces that Disney wants would also be something he wants to accomplish.
As I expected, Kabletown does have an interest in the Marvel properties. Makes sense though, if Comcast wants to create a streaming service that can rival its competitors then the Marvel assets are very alluring additions. Granted, its not the biggest reasons for Comcast going after Fox again but the Marvel assets at the very least are still viewed as the icing on the cake should they nab Fox from the Mouse. The WSJ did an article on Star India, a media conglomerate which is valued at over $14B. This seems to be a great fit for the Mouse given its placement in a growing market, a huge customer base and ownership of a mobile streaming service, Hotstar. My guess is Iger would pick this asset over Sky if he had to choose.

But if Comcast acquired Fox and the Marvel characters, could we really do that anymore? It would probably be the furthest away it has ever been.

I hadn't really considered that possibility but if Comcast took X-Men seriously and had a clean slate it could still work out well. Glad you mentioned it.In such a scenario, I would want Comcast/Universal to do a complete reboot on the X-Men. i'm beyond tired of the current universe.
