Haha. How long ago did they predict this one?

It's unbelievable.

You'd think Disney would just go for X-Men and FF, but they end up with the whole damn company.

It's like going to Target for a few things then you wind up spending your whole check.

Damn, that is crazy. Or maybe Iger is a huge Simpsons fan and wanted to make the show right. ;)

Is Trump a Simpsons fan too? It predicted he would be president.

They can also predict Super Bowl commercials:

If people didn't follow this thread, and weren't interested in business either, would they even know that Disney is acquiring Fox and that there's this bidding war going on?

Does the average comic fan know about all of this?

Or what about the average viewer who isn't necessarily a Marvel fan but watches comic book movies every now and then?

I bet people in this thread probably know more about the Disney-Fox-Comcast deal than the average person.

They aren't going to shelve Deadpool films. The last one made a ton of money and they are still profitable. I think X-Force and Deadpool 3 will still happen. You can debate if they are really part of the MCU or not. I don't see Deadpool ever showing up in a MCU anyway. He doesn't work as a PG13 character.
That's pretty much what I believe will happen.

Heh, I remember that. Maybe Disney should celebrate the acquisition of Fox by finally putting The Simpsons out of its misery.

Okay, now the question is: Should Marvel release Dark Phoenix and New Mutants movies?

Even though both are already completed, I don't think it's a good idea; MCU needs to separate itself as far away from the Fox X-Men continuity as possible, and distribute them under the banner of Marvel Studios will only confuse the GA like the new Joker movie will from WB. I think both movies should be shelved, and in a few years, Kevin Feige can start making new X-Men movies that are part of MCU.

Mind If I plug a little thread for that discussion?

They won't put the Marvel Studios banner on Dark Phoenix. Once released, it will get the same banner at beginning that all X-Men films have gotten.

I just remembered how really awkward the press for Dark Phoenix is going to be(assuming they release it in theaters).

It's going to be so awkward for the cast who will soon be replaced with new actors for the MCU answering questions.

just wanted to say. I'm from Asia and a huge crazy fan. was wishing for this since maybe Avengers (2012). Guys congratulations. :)

Well they won't answer it like that. They'll just say they hope they can be in the MCU and would love to star alongside Iron Man, Spider-Man etc.

If it's like Simon Kinberg's Fant4stic, the cast won't even show up for the premiere. :funny:

Didn't more than one of the leads say months later they still hadn't seen it yet?

I posted that Variety link on a running text thread with my buddies and one of them, who enjoys the MCU, but doesn't live and die with it like we do, responded to it like this

"Interesting. This ties in nicely with Disney's earlier 20th Century Fox deal."

Apparently he thought 20CF and 21CF were different entities lol.

I think its safe to that very few are paying as much attention to this as the regular posters on this thread.

I'm telling you, until the day comes that damn travesty actually opens worldwide, I'm not losing hope that it might be decapitated and buried.
