Sorry to be a bit of a party pooper but we're not out of the clear yet guys. There's still the matter of the shareholder vote on July 27th and a third party can still make a play for the Fox assets. I'll save my celebration until after the Shareholder vote has been cast.

This was expected.

Expected, yes, but this makes it official.:woot:

Now we don't even have to wait for the vote. All that's left are administrative details.

Feige may have to still wait a bit before really taking active steps, but he knows he's getting the rights, so he can make sure his plans from now on are based on the idea that he'll have all the rights in a relatively short time-frame.:woot:

Are the Fox shareholders really going to vote for Comcast and against Disney now that Comcast has dropped out of the race?

HA!

SNIKT’S COMING HOME, BUB! I am so filled with joy right now I could just.... just..........

JEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!

I don't think there's any reason to worry on these details.

After Disney was forced to up their bid, the current bid puts them at close to twice what the stock was worth when this whole thing started. A vote against the deal would be a vote to cut the value of your stock in half (and you'd be stuck with stock in a company that doesn't even want to continue).

As for other parties, nobody has expressed any interest, and if anybody is interested, they should have spoken long ago. You don't bid on a company out of nowhere days before a vote to close the bid that's already on the table and approved by the DOJ. Comcast had at least communicated their interest and actually bid, so there was a chance they could have made another bid. But even in that case, if they really intended to make a serious bid, they should have communicated that interest.

I am hoping this clears in time for them to add maybe some Surfer and Galactus easter eggs at least into GotG3 (if not maybe put Surfer in the movie) I've had a feeling that would be the first movie in the slate we could see easter eggs or feel changes from the deal. I still think it may be late to do anything outside of a credits tease or something for A4, but GotG3...def is time!

No more years of hurt! No more need for dreaming!

Coming next Friday this will officially become the most legendary thread in the history of CBM threads ever!

Even Kevin Feige is happy about the news!

So good to hear it from Comcast’s mouth.

I am going to make my bold prediction official: I think Silver Surfer will be in Guardians 3!

Post-credits, maybe. I don't want Gunn to shoehorn a character for the sake of it. Vol 3 script is done.

He can easily add a small role for Surfer and Galctus in Com 3. If the deal closes by December, he'll have enough time.

Movie won't shoot until early next year. Plenty of time to make additions. Further, the script may be done, but it likely is an early draft. It likely isn't final at this stage anyway. Also, I do believe Gunn has expressed interest in using him in the past.

That must suck for you. After all, by your own admission in the X-men forum "COMCAST WAS THE GOOD GUY HERE". Did i get this right?

One of the most hated companies right now where everyone from consumers to other companies and analysts pretty much loathe was the good guy as long as Marvel wouldn't get the rights. Am i right?

True, but this thread has been legendary in my eyes for at least three years now lol.

About damn time Comcast stopped. They gave me anxiety every time they pushed the bid. I need my X-men movie!!!
