Honestly, I expected Fantastic Four and Doctor Doom to end up back with Marvel anyway. Obviously this deal expedites that process, but after Fant4stic I always assumed it was a done deal. No way Fox touched the property again in a seven-year window after that debacle.

X-Men is honestly the big shocker here. Never would have thought those characters would go back.

I wouldn't be for this. I am fine with the Disney deal to buy FOX, but I don't want Disney to buy like, every studio and have no competition. Even the MCU needs competition, and DC gives them that.

On a meta level I hope this X-Men announcement on Sunday at Comic Con gives us a way to redo Wanda's "No More Mutants" spell.

No need to. Thanos is a purple alien with a weird chin.
Brolin can play Cable AND Thanos in the same movie if they want to, other characters can chalk it up to coincidence if they sort of look alike. Hell, Deadpool would come up with several jokes about it.

The general consensus is yes, they can use him in an ensemble film without permission. The same way they can use Hulk, as long as it's not a Hulk movie.

Hopefully by this time next year, Disney and Comcast will have worked out a deal for everything and there will be one less significant barrier to Namor appearing on the big screen.

Eh, I don't care what Iger said, he was just trying to get people excited. The day Feige himself comes out and explicitly states "yes, I'm taking Reynolds' Deadpool with all his baggage and dumping him into my cinematic universe", that's when I'll concede that I was wrong.

With Aquaman already exploring that world, I would prefer to see homeless amnesiac Namor finding out his once glorious kingdom was destroyed by surface dwellers. And being displeased. IMPERIUS REX!

Competition is a good thing, which would not be the same if both DC and Marvel are under the same parent company.
