Just drop it. It's the 5th time you are repeating the same thing. It's almost like you relish spreading negativity and Doomsday scenarios.

Iger and Horn had Feige's back against a billionaire mongul CEO of Marvel Etnertainemtn. For all intents and purposes Feige was small fish compared to Ike yet both Horn and Iger supported him. Id don't think Kevin is forgetting this anytime soon. He has put up with much worse and the MCU is his child. There is no rift.

Listen chum, I've been on these board since they started and fought in the Great Fant4stic Wars of 2015. I'll be damned if I'm going to let a wet-behind-the-ears newbie tell me what I can and cannot post. You don't want to read about my legitimate concerns? You want to keep pretending everything's sunshine and peppermints when the Studio President goes radio silent after one of his key contributors gets sh**canned by his boss? Block me.

We could talk about Iger skipping the Shareholder meeting and how that likely means no new statements :csad:

Well he could make a statement from while he's on vacation. He should give us an Instagram story. Iger sitting somewhere tropical, sipping ice tea and announcing that Disney owns Fox now.

Listen here hot-head. I have been on those thread since Spider-man 3 first Venom image. I have changed over 7 names and avatars due to my job. I have been reading comics for over 30 years. I have waited for Marvel Studios to get those rights for years and i WONT LET ANYONE rain on this parade because of insecurity over something trivial.

If you don't want me on your back then stop repeating the same thing like sa broken record each time derailing the conversation.

'This is a major event': Experts are anticipating the biggest sports media bidding war in 30 years if Disney lands Fox

Industry experts predict the probable sale of these RSNs — which offer local sports broadcasts for teams like the Atlanta Braves and Los Angeles Clippers — sets the stage for another bidding frenzy of some very attractive assets.

"This is a major event," Lee Berkhe, CEO of LHB Sports, Entertainment & Media, Inc., told Business Insider. "Trades and sales [of sports networks] are few and far between," Berkhe said, adding that he can't remember a sale of this magnitude in the past 30 years.

The sports media industry experts that Business Insider spoke with said to expect interest from the following groups of potential buyers:

  • Cable telecoms like AT&T, Charter, Comcast
  • Big media companies like CBS or Viacom
  • Broadcast companies who already own sports networks, like Sinclair Broadcast Group
  • Private equity firms which would look to monetize the RSN assets
  • Foreign entities like the UK-based Eleven Sports
  • Companies committed to investing in their OTT platforms, like Amazon and YouTube
  • Discovery Communications
  • Individual sports teams; MSG Networks is an example of a group of professional teams that already own a sports network

Hopefully some of these will buy them quickly.

But if Disney is anticipating a bidding war, that means they might not want to sell them off too quickly. It could be a long, drawn-out process if it's between two giants and Disney is hard-pressed as to whom to sell to.

I want it all over more quickly, but as far as Disney are concerned, they'll want the best price on these rather than the quickest sales. So that could easily take them up to or beyond the 90 days.

Methinks some of you are overstating the impact of Gunn's departure. And even if it's a big blow, they'll regroup. This is a billion-dollar franchise run by a billion-dollar studio. It will work itself out.

Some means the same two people who keep derailing the thread.

The sail of the RSNs will happen after the deal closes so I don't think we have anything to worry about

Isn't the DOJ approval dependent on them selling off these assets? Or is it just at least trying to sell them off, and not necessarily succeeding?

I see they mention Comcast as one of the potential buyers, along with AT&T.

Aaaanyway, about that ticking clock. Muties and dysfunctional super families and all that

Not as I understand it.
The merger is approved. The offload is a condition that has to be met after the fact, and with a deadline. If they don't meet the deadline there are fines, but it doesn't negate the approval.

The fact that Horn, who has never made a Marvel Studios personnel announcement,
It's simple corporate context. Anyone who has ever worked for a large corporation knows this. When a matter of any negative significance happens in one division, and the parent company wants to speak to it in a way that also applies to the rest of the organization, the higher position is the one who makes the announcement.

Case in point. Lucasfilm is another division that has had employees engaging in a war of words in a variety of things with people on social media.

Having Horn not only speak to the firing but emphasize the values of the company is a message to all of Disney's film divisions. Horn never having to ever have said anything before is actually a credit to Feige, but in this particular situation Executive management felt that a message needed to be spoke to the whole company, hence Horn. It's really nothing beyond that, regardless of Feige's feelings.

This is correct. The DOJ has approved it. The only way they would withdraw approval is if in the 11th hour, Disney decided to go back on its decision to sell the RSN's. Which is simply not going to happen.

The deal has already been approved by the the DOJ. The sale of the RSNs is a condition Disney agreed to post finalization

I wouldn't get too hung up on it. In business terms, 90 days is a long time for a highly prized asset to be up for sale. Even if for some reason the sales had to go over 90 days, they can demonstrate to the DOJ that any holdups are do to a bidding war, etc. As long as they can show good faith in selling them off, the DOJ would likely be more than happy to work out extensions, etc.

In terms of Iger going on vacation on the 27th and not producing a statement, well maybe he's already prepared one which will be posted somewhere. He doesn't have to be there in person for it to go up.

If it is all as good as done, then he may have felt confident to write something already. I don't know if he has to be interviewed at all by any journalists. Maybe he'll film an interview tomorrow evening or in the morning before he leaves for vacation?

I am hoping Feige will have a statement soon too about getting the properties back.

All this means for Disney is they are about to make a lot of money.

I wouldn't expect many statements of any significance on Friday. This is big step, but not the final one. When the deal closes is when you will hear from everyone. The most I would expect to hear from Iger, is where they stand with International approvals.

I know Feige can't legally talk about MCU X-Men films but I really hope we can get an idea of what he wants to do. The only thing left post meeting is for Disney to close the transaction. Its all but final. And hopefully it's done sooner than December although I may be getting ahead myself

In the coming days/weeks, if we see him with either a X-Men or Fantastic Four shirt on, that'd be a nice little gesture.

I have an idea! It's called "stop Jeph Loeb from making X-Men shows before I use them, on a Perlmutter budget, and saying #ItsAllConnected" :oldrazz:
