Iger and Murdoch avoiding the meeting is a good thing it means the shareholders vote without any influence. Basically letting the deal speak for itself.

I have an idea! It's called "stop Jeph Loeb from making X-Men shows before I use them, on a Perlmutter budget, and saying #ItsAllConnected" :oldrazz:

I mean, Feige will get first dibs on the X-Men. As for the tv side of things - Maybe a Generation X show

I wouldn't expect many statements of any significance on Friday. This is big step, but not the final one. When the deal closes is when you will hear from everyone. The most I would expect to hear from Iger, is where they stand with International approvals.

The last hour or so, I've had a growing sense of trepidation this might be true. I would definitely like a statement about international approvals, since I've been sort of curious about this, or even better, a projected closing date, as some have suggested.

Maybe the trades will do that for us. The projected closing date I mean

Hopefully the international approvals won't be some long, drawn out process. Why should they take so long? Couldn't they be fast-tracked through to be done as quickly as possible?

Iger mentioned in an interview a few months ago he had already been talking with international regulators.

It's partly the number of markets requiring approval. Some operate quicker than others.

Which markets? Is China one of them?

If they want to see the FF and X-Men in the MCU as soon as possible, they'll hurry it up.

I think this is one of the real reasons why Avengers 4 doesn't have a title. Not that I think that any of the characters will appear but the A in Avengers does look a lot like a 4. But I'm super sure we will get some teaser of the X-men, Galactus, Doom, or the F4 at the end credits. Phase 4 will belong to the F4.

The X-Men will not become part of the MCU.
Once the merger go through, Walt Disney Company will keep Fox Studios as a separate entity from Walt Disney Studios, meaning all licensing contracts will stay in place.
Keven Fiege and Marvel Studios won’t be able to get they hands on the X-Men, even though they will have the same parent company.
Right now WD Studios, Marvel Studios, Pixar and Lucasfilms are all do specialise productions.
Disney wants a conventional studio with a more broad appear, in other words Disney wants a studio that is not specialise in a narrow theme. A studio that will make a variety of films like action, scifi, horror, drama, comedies and R rated movies.
So Deadpool fans, you have nothing to be worried about, you’ll still get your R rated Deadpool.

I hope this post is trolling...

Dude, Bob Iger...the guy who actually is in charge of this stuff said the X-Men will be integrated into the MCU. I trust him a lot more than you.

Once the deal closes, Disney will own the new entity and any licenses will become meaningless. Disney will be able to use whatever characters they choose however they choose.

They may decide to still make some films (like Deadpool) under the Fox banner, but if so, that will be purely by choice and Feige will likely have a large say in that strategy. The license will effectively cease to exist the moment the deal closes.

Bob Iger is wrong, you guys

He’s only the CEO of The Walt Disney Company

What could he possibly know?

The X-Men not joining the MCU after the Fox deal closes has as much as a chance of happening as Simon Kinberg’s imaginary Fan4stic sequel ever getting greenlit.

We need all the FFINO’ers to come back for one last ride

I will not be satisfied until I hear at least one more insightful comment about a fantastic four movie not being made without the approval of Constantin films
