Alright, everyone- I'm off to bed for tonight. Hopefully after we get some sleep tonight (if we even can that is- looking at you, Willie!), we'll all wake up to a world that is on the precipice of having a fully-realized Marvel Cinematic Universe!

So the 27th arrived and everyone went to sleep? We have "The World's Greatest Comic Magazine" characters back in the fold!!!

Have you seen the leaked Sony emails? They thought they could get $5 billion from Disney for the Spidey rights (after paying around $25 million way back when...), or that they could quickly build up to a Sinister Six film that would predictably make $2 billion worldwide.
They're pretty delusional about Spidey. I'd be surprised if Sony even divests their whole studio division at fair market value. :csad:

Yeah. Things were pretty batty.

The sale of Sky may not even be needed. Sony is interested in buying Endemol. Post acquisition, Disney will own 50% of that. Endemol has been valued at 4B

https://variety.com/2018/tv/news/endemol-shine-banks-evaluate-sale-1202851854/

Just like the 39% of Sky from Disney to the 30% of Hulu from Comcast + Marvel rights + cash, a similar deal could be reached with Sony for 50% of Endemol for SM movie rights + cash.

Wow. That is great insight. The more I think of it, I think the “Spidey-endgame” will involve this in some way.

So the acquisition of Fox could really kill 3 birds with one stone as far as Disney are concerned when it come to the Marvel rights:

1) Gain all of the Marvel Fox rights back
2) Use the 39% of Sky to get the Universal Marvel rights back
3) Use the 50% of Endemol to get the Sony Marvel rights back

It is very likely tomorrow can be the domino that eventually causes a cascade of actions that indeed lead us to witness the above “3 bird assassination plot” achieved, IMO.

Some of you really underestimate Spider-Man. And the brand. Like it or not he is the face of marvel and they moved the whole roster of movies to fit him in. He makes bank. Sony for some reason want to create a universe and think they can do this villains who don’t work without the character. They are a terrible studio for Spider-Man and they shouldn’t have him. Avi Arad is a hack who kept spidey from joining and I guess this venomverse was his silly idea to hold on to whatever control he had.
Sadly I want the venom movie to not do well but I like the venom design. I just think Sony are idiots who don’t know the character and struck out long ago.

Nobody seemed to care about the amazing verse. I remember when spiderman went on stage at comic con in 2013 . Nobody clapped. But people went crazy for Loki . Yea the brand was being damaged

It’s sad. But hey. I just don’t trust them and I was hype for asm2

I can see Disney getting the full rights in 2-3 years. Maybe even sooner. They will revisit the deal in fall 2019 after far from home and evaluate how things have been going. If venom flops and gets bad reviews Disney could make a move on the full rights.

Today is the day.....

We've been waiting for.

Today is the day...

We've been dreaming for...

Today is the day when...

HOPE WILL BE REWARDED!!!

I also seem to remember reading a "leak" of the spidey summit that happened back in january 2015 and it said Marvel could get the rights back in 2020 for 2 billion dollars.

I remember that offer having bizarre conditions like "Make Amazing Spider-Man part of the MCU", and in the same breath planning a live action Spider-verse film where Garfield teamed up with Tobey and a Sinister Six film that would make $2 billion each.

The big day is finally here!

Keep an eye on the official Fantastic Four and X-Men movie pages.

When they kept wiped clean, it's on :woot: :woot: :woot:

If only it had been 10 am GMT. That would've been 1 hour and 40 minutes ago and we would've known by now!

Today's the day...tick tock...years of telling people that one day the F4 and the Xmen will come home to the MCU is FINALLY over...the official time will be a great time to remember

It is at 10am EST, correct?

Im guessing at minimum the merger will be confirmed as official by the trades.thats about it. Ideally we would all like some news on the marvel stuff but i doubt it.
