Dude do you have any idea how meaningless a retcon of Wanda & Pietro's origins is? They've been the orphan children of the Maximoffs, children of WW2 supers Miss America & the Whizzer, orphans raised by the High Evolutionary and A talking cow, children of Magneto, and children of a retcon "original" Scarlet Witch. The Magneto origin will come back because it's the only one that makes good drama.

Yep, good drama, and IF Quicksilver happens to come back I'd be fine with a bit of retconning to officially link those 3 characters together.

But they also left out Gwen, Jameson and changed many of his peers like Flash, MJ, Ned etc. They changed Aunt May and made her hot. I thought Homecoming was awesome but I don't want that treatment for X-Men.

Gwen Stacy doesn’t even appear until Peter goes to college in the 616 universe. Though in the Ultimates they do have Gwen be part of his supporting cast in high school.

And Jameson needs to appear in the MCU ASAP.

I want Gary Oldman to play him!

MC - Erik is not the only X-Men villain. They can get good drama out of someone like Nathienal Essex just as easily considering his backstory. And Magneto may be changed from WW2, especially if the first X-Men isn't out until 2022 let alone if he's not in that movie (which he likely won't be) you're looking at 2024-2025 for X-Men 2 a WW2 Magneto would be close to 90 years old

Yes. But it almost doesn’t matter since we’re now at a point now where it really will be a done deal. Any company wanting to do any competing bids for Fox should’ve done it before today now it’s virtually impossible for this deal not to happen after this shareholder vote.

Although I hated Pietro being killed off by Whedon, who always needs to hit his tropes, I don't want the Twins to be related to Magneto in the MCU. That was an '80s retcon that I disliked in the comics so I'd prefer they keep it out. Let Magneto be Lorna Dane's pretend father if he needs offspring.

It's probably best if Magneto sits out a few movies, anyway. He's a bit tired after starring in almost every X-film since 2000. Give some other villains a chance (not Apocalypse!) and bring Maggie back as a real menace, not a frenemy, later on.

I would love to see Polaris introduced and that connection coudl be done naturally.

Yes Magneto definitely needs a break. I think it would be huge for him to turn up in an already very successful X-Men franchise a few films down the line. They could mention him and start building him up before that.

I guarantee any X-Men or F4 movie that gets released by Marvel will gross considerably more than any Fox produced film did. At this point with the MCU's astonishing success with the general non-comic filmgoers just seeing the MCU logo and Disney logo combined with references and cameos by other MCU characters will excite anyone who enjoys these types of movies. Whenever and however Dark Phoenix is released and no matter how bad it is an official MCU reboot will reset the general audiences excitement for the franchise.

Unpopular Opinion: I’m still glad Dark Phoenix is being released in theaters. I want to say goodbye to the Fox X-series on the big screen. I root for it to be good all while knowing it most likely won’t be.

It just hit me that we can finally have an epic Silver Surfer solo film. The Lee/Buscema series from the '60s is one of my favorite comics of all time. Seeing him surf the spaceways on the silver screen has been a dream of mine since childhood and now it can come true.
