You still haven't explained to me how this was good apart from it being"Deadpooly". I don't care if it was comic accurate or absurd. The story was whack.

Taking a bad Frank Miller story and making it "Frank Millery" doesn't add anything.

The majority of the Deadpool characters are stereotype so Reynolds can bounce off them and tell gags. From Weasel to Negasonic to Dopinder even Cable with his not so subtle Terminator homages. The character work in this franchise is weak as hell.

It's a solid character study for a guy who can't die yet wants to die because his lover died and is doing everything he can to live on OR make the bitter end worth it. The first one lacked how pitiful Wade can be and the level of creativity & parody wasn't up to par with what I prefer for DP.
The fun of these movies is getting to see him interact with so many characters, making this franchise (particularly the 2nd) a quintessential template for modern superhero solos. Just change the tone and location depending on the hero.

The character work reminds me of what Raimi showed off, thus making DP the obvious Spider-Man of 2010s.

If Fox was going to include F4 in Deadpool 2 doesn't that prove without a doubt they own the rights? Why would constantin ever go for that? It clearly got far enough to get concept art so they were serious and Its based on miles teller.

What is this fixation with constantin?

They're to F4 what Universal is to Hulk.

No I understand what the relationship is. I just wonder why he's still bringing them up lol the constantin thing should be dead and buried until proven otherwise. Lol

Artist Alexander Lozano just revelead that Tim Miller wanted the FF to appear in Deadpool 2.

The Thing looks good. The others, not so much.

With some tweaking theses can all look like really good costumes imo. And they make sense in terms of them being exploring style suits. The fant4stic costumes were awful but these with right alterations could be something I wouldn't mind having.

I brought it up because certain users here seem convinced that Constantin are still involved in the deal but I won't name names or point fingers.

FOX wouldn't have been able to even start concept art on having F4 in deadpool 2 if constantin was still involved this is finally proof that Fox have 100% ownership and can do whatever they want with f4. It also explains the doom and silver surfer movies in dev.

Okay I think most of us here and understand that, its generally something that's no longer in question.

We dodged the bullet of the Trank cast coming back but I really like that Thing design. Maybe Miller can be kept in mind for MCU F4

I doubt the cast would have done it anyway. This feels like it would have been a contract obligation thing. Since I'm sure this cast would have signed on for at least a trilogy.

The Thing design in Fant4stic is way better. Their costumes there look really interesting and not at all goofy. I can't wait to see this movie 10 times!

Willie! You're becoming a FFINO defender! :argh: :oldrazz:

People saying Constantin owns the production rights to the FF is like when people say James Cameron (Lightstorm) did not transfer the Avatar rights to Fox in 2005. They basically have no idea what they are talking about.

The Thing wearing pants in that artwork suggests that he either regrew his dick or his sense of dignity. Or both. :funny:

Someone told him to put some on so that we either couldn't see that he was missing one or that he now had one.

Nothing of what you said makes him interesting to mmend this is certainly not the esponse the movie got. vanessa was friidged so Wde can have a motive and that motive was completely selfish in the end. There is no insight of what Wade really is. Is he a psycho, a hero someone who tries to find a puprose? The movies can't decide.

All the characters are so one-dimensional it's not even funny anymore. We are supposed o care about his relationship with the kid and i couldn't give a rat's a&& whether he lived or died and i don't know many people that did. Oh and the action from the oo-director of John Wick was seriously subpar but that's not the main point.

Reynolds and co focused on what worked in the first without making the effort to add anything else. The franchise has gotten grating after only two movies.

This is certainly not the response the movie got.

...but that's not the main point.

I'm assuming this is the main point.

I can maybe see underlined's argument if you're implying the various review aggregate sites don't mark a significant score difference or at all between the two.
That's the statistical response the movie got.
If not, well obviously that's not visibly and literally the case with more plot, more characters, more factions, more locations, larger scope, more over-the-top and larger in scale vfx scenes, more cinematic cinematography and camerawork, more variety of gags, etc.

This 2-movie franchise itself is still one of the most successful solo superhero series ever made on the most cost-effective budgets.

Those.of you who were around when Disney bougnt marvel. Was there this much uncertainty before everything was confirmed?

Or was the buyout pretty much instant? This period of limbo surrounding the Fox deal sucks.

its like finding out what your getting for xmas early but you cant open it till xmas day.

It was pretty instant. You have to remember that Disney buying Marvel or Lucasfilm is significantly smaller in scope than Disney buying Fox. Because Disney is buying a huge portion of a corporation juggernaut and there's a ton of rules for anti-trust or gaining a monopoly on the market that comes into play. If it was just Disney buy 21st Century Fox (a relatively smaller piece of the Fox deal) it probably would be over and done with by now.

You just have to keep in perspective of everything outside of just superhero film rights which have massive implications for the global economy that need to be dealt with.

Disney should've bought 21st century Fox and the rest of Fox separately. Then we'd have had FF by now.

The problem is I think Murdoch gave Disney a all or nothing ultimatum he didnt want to split it up as it would mean less money. i agree tho all Disney really needed was 21CF.

21CF may have been all Disney actually wanted. But were forced to buy all the extra addons or not at all. I could see Disney divesting more assets following the closure of the deal it could be how they get quicker approval.

Theyll have to divest Sky if comcast wins that. They could sell some of the more r rated IP like Alien to lionsgate or paramount.

Personaly I think Fox Searchlight should be spun off. But they can sign a deal with Disney where all their stuff is exclusive to the Streaming service. Following a theatrical release. i dont want searchlight to become a straight to streaming studio. It would be an insult.

i think theyll be asked to divest more than the RSNs

Speaking of Comcast, hasn't the deadline expired for when Fox has to make an offer for Sky? Wasn't it yesterday? I think they may have backed off after all
