Till this day I believe Marvel not having rights to all their main Characters(FF, Spidey,Xmen)was the best thing to ever happen to Marvel Studios. The ultimate blessing in disguise. It made them really invest, and take care what these lower characters stood for.

It really was. I mean you have the most random people now shouting “Wakanda Forever!” And making Thanos a household name. Black Panther, Cap, Iron Man are the new Batman, Superman and other common knowledge heroes now.

Having X-Men and the 4 back is just icing on the cake.

it will be sad if this crossover doesn't happen. The disappointment if Spider-Man leaves the MCU just as the F4 come home would be real.

It would truly be a shame. Spidey is the heart of the Marvel Universe. I know it's wrong but I was hoping Venom wouldn't do so well. Venom being a box-office smash is the worst thing that could have ever happened to MCU Spider-Man

I agree. It makes the grand return of the missing pieces all the more rewarding too.

There's room for both. One of the things I love about the MCU is the fact that all of the heroes' looks evolve from film to film. We're gonna get a variety of Storm looks in the MCU.

Sometimes I wonder if the franchise would have been better off if Singer/Kinberg said goodbye to X-Men and Vaughn was allowed to make a true sequel to First Class.
Matthew Vaughn Wanted to Make a Different 'X-Men' Movie Before 'Days of Future Past'

This is very depressing to read. It's clear Vaughn felt like Singer was entitled to return to the franchise as did Fox.

One thing I know for certain, Kitty should have kept her role in DOFP instead of being swapped out for Wolverine. Ellen Page could have totally carried DOFP and it would have been refreshingly different to have her be the lead of an X-Men movie
Yes, getting a variety of looks for Storm over a large number of different films would be ideal.

Wolverine is obviously a great character but Fox wanted him to be every character. They gave us DofP with him taking Kitty's role and the Dark Phoenix story with him taking Scott's role. This was even after having the spotlight in X1 and 2.

Yeah, we need to see that. Sony have made Spider-Verse recently and hopefully this is a sign that they might start making better decisions.

Maybe we'll finally get to see Nightcrawler team up with Leprechauns :P

But In all seriousness, I want to see the Brood (MCU version of Xenomorph), Savage Land/Sauron, Shi'ar, Charles/Lilandra, Eric the Red and the Imperial Guard explored in the X-Men movies. It's time to stop trying to make the X-Men grounded to tell the same stories over and over again about Magneto and human vs mutant. The X-Men were NEVER grounded in reality. Marvel needs to tap into the side of the X-Men that will truly differentiate it from the Fox movies.
Yes, time for some of the more out-there stuff to make it onto screen. These things seem so much more possible in the more developed MCU.

The lack of understanding about what to do with any character not named Wolverine, Magneto, Charles or Mystique has always been the Achilles' Heel of these movies, even the really good ones like Logan and X2. The X-Men have some fantastic characters who could be real breakouts if done correctly, and it seems like Fox only just realized this at the very end of their tenure with the license (what with them trying and failing to get that Gambit spin-off off the ground multiple times).

That's an area I hope Marvel improves on.
I hope we start seeing some of the other characters truly break out after their introduction in the MCU. There's so much potential being introduced into a universe that is already so developed.

Unpopular opinion here:
For the most part, i do not want the rights going to disney.

The Spiderman movies made by Sony, the ones made by Sam Raimi, were for the most part good, the Amazing ones were not "amazing" at all (except that Green Goblin/Gwen Stacy scene, that was awesome) and Homecoming was the worst Spiderman movie of them all (and the sequel does not look much better)

The Fantastic Four movies were not good (The one with the Silver Surfer had its moments) and they were just like an mcu movie, if they were part of it they would have been praised, but in this case i do want them to be part of the mcu, the Human Torch and The Thing have the personality of "witty quips" that disney likes so much in Marvel, but they will probably go overboard with the humor sadly.

Now, the X-Men franchise, THAT is the one that i dont want nowhere near disney/Marvel.
All of the movies from that saga have been from good to awesome (okay the Wolverine trilogy was not very good, but whatever) and i highly doubt that we are gonna get actual good X-Men movies from the mcu, the reason being that what makes the X-Men movies good is the tone, it is serious, dramatic, tragic, and the mcu does not dare to go "full Marvel" yet, they always have to put some out of place joke or dissapointing villains or third act.

They are never gonna make something like X2 or DOFP.

Even Infinity War, the best mcu movie and a pretty good movie overall, struggled between serious and "fun" at times, and the quality of the mcu overall has been pretty inconsistent: we can get a Winter Soldier, an Infinity War, or we can get a Thor Ragnarok or an Iron Man 3, is pretty random.

I dont get at all that mentality of "any superhero/marvel movie that is not part of the mcu is bad", that is not true at all, there are even people wanting Dark Phoenix to bomb at the box office or not even released at all, and say that is gonna be an awful movie already (and some people say that Apocalypse is a bad movie, i mean WTF is literally a comic book movie)

I am gonna put a quick example and then end this already endless wall of text: Doctor Strange is an awesome movie, really good Marvel story, however it has a lot of jokes that are 100% out of place and do not fit with the tone of the movie at all, is like after reading the finished script a producer came and said "that is nice, now put some jokes here here and there".
Because of that the movie does not reach the quality it should, the jokes are so bad and so forced and used to kill the tension the serious moments or the characters, that bring the whole movie down.
And this happens in pretty much every mcu movie, and it never happened in the X-Men movies (that i can remember).

Short version: If the mcu can fix its tonal inconsistencies, i would love to see all characters in the mcu, it would be mind blowing to have a group shot like in comic books with 50 characters and all the stories happening in the same place, but as it stands today, no thanks.
We got BP and IW that they were good serious movies and even those had some awfully out of place jokes shoe horned in them, and then Antman and the Wasp which was just embarrasing, and Captain Marvel and Avengers Endgame look good, they look serious, but i cannot help but fear that at some point they are gonna have a "invisible Drax" kind of bad forced joke in there at some point.

If the mcu can stop going overboard with the humor, it really would be best for everyone, the audience and the quality of the movies themselves.

Thank you for your testimony.

So? It’s not like they are popular then that of xmen or ff. I mean marvel just handles the brand well
Correct me if I'm wrong, gotg has made more at the box office than any xmen film.

Whatever they do with X-Men, just for the love of God, keep Storm with long white hair.

That Halle Berry short bob, 80s mohawk shxt is played out.
I may be biased, but I have this feeling that MCU storm is going to be huge, maybe one of the most popular character going forward.

Not just marvel studios, its the best thing to happen to superhero films. Without this trend we would never have gotten dead pool, venom and aqua man.

I agree. It helped them build up their other brands and characters. 11 years ago, Iron Man was not as popular as he is now.

Also we got to see films for a lot of characters who were never really showcased before or never showcased well.

If not the FF for Phase 4, then how about for Phase 5 along with Spider-Man?

I wonder since all of the South American regulation hurdles are just with television if the films division can move forward after the new year? Since the deal is pretty much set, new leadership is taking over, and they'll definitely meet regulation requirements eventually so there's no reason for Fox to hold on to Xmen any longer.

I don't mind having radio silence on this but I want a huge announcement at SDCC at the latest.

The timing of the characters returning is perfect as well. Just as their other top characters are winding down you get a great revival of the classics all of which are primed for reintroduction.

Also a Spidey/F4 crossover needs to happen. I'm thinking Spider-man-in the Baxter Building-Die Hard. Nuff said.

I hope all this talk of the Eternals (especially an end credit sequence with them) is actually a ruse for the FF or X-Men. Maybe it's a bit like Captain America: Serpent Society compared to Captain America: Civil War.

That one just sounded like they were going to make a sequel to The Winter Soldier considering where it left off yet decided on Avengers 2.5 instead.

The conspiracy theorist in me believes that. I don't think they would officially confirm an Eternal film just to hide development for X-men/F4. The Serpent Society thing was just a logo made a few days before the phase 3 announcement, very different circumstances. Though it may be the most epic bait and switch ever if the theory is true.

I don't see Eternals secretly being an FF film. Especially when it sort of fits in with the whole MCU is going Cosmic thing and fills a lot of voids left by GotG3.

I wonder if we'd ever get a proper solo Captain America film again. I bet the casual film goer who can't keep up with all the MCU films probably remembers Civil War as an Avengers film rather than a Captain America film. If you can't remember the name of it but the scene of the airport battle sticks in your mind, what would you immediately think as a casual fan when you remember all these Avengers heroes? An Avengers film!

And if there were some sort of game show quiz where casual contestants had to name the MCU film from a series of clips and they saw that airport battle, it's highly likely they would just say "Avengers". Why would they they think "Captain America"?

Civil War is no doubt a Captain America film. Character quantity means little, it is about what the movie is about. Cap is firmly the driving force and and the obvious protagonist of Civil War. Iron Man is an antagonist. The other Avengers are supporting characters.

I've endlessly debated this with people though and don't feel like doing it again, lol.

You have an African woman with a huge power set, a cool look and a member of the Xmen. There’s a lot of potential right there alone. That’s why I was keen for her to be introduced in Black Panther 2 or 3. She gets to stand on her own for a bit before the Xmen. Like T’Challa or Peter in Civil War

Her origin had nothing to do with black panther. Are you saying she should be in his film because she is black and african? Bit like saying captain britain should turn up in the black widow film because they are both white european.

Ororo and T'Challa have a long history in the comics. She was worshipped as an African Goddess in Kenya by tribespeople. Both Ororo and T'Challa come from royalty and Black Panther was one of the biggest Marvel films ever made. It makes perfect sense to spearhead the X-Men's introduction into the MCU by introducing one of Marvel's most iconic female heroes in one of their biggest franchises which can strongly establish her African roots.
