For me it's not going to be fun because Dark Phoenix could do major damage to the X-Brand and Jean as a character
The damage can't possibly be any worse than the damage done to the brand after The Last Stand or Wolverine: Origins and the X-Men franchise recovered after that. If Dark Phoenix is Fan4stic level bad(I don't think it will be but you never know) then all Marvel will do is wait long enough for audiences to wash the bad taste that movie left in their mouth's and start from scratch. Whatever happens with Dark Phoenix, at the end of the day, the X-brand will not be irrevocably damaged beyond repair. Marvel/Disney will still see enormous potential in the property and would want to do their version on it.

The first person is someone who accurately summarized the entire plot of Justice League on reddit before the movie came out. He's someone who has access to tons of test screenings and is in contact with others who do other test screenings so I'd say he's reliable.

The second dude I assume is also one of the folks who's been to the test screenings for the film.

So apparently Fox are now trying to threaten legal action against anyone who bad mouths the movie

A lot of hollywood studios do that to youtubers. Threaten the ones that bash a film with copyright infringement if they use their images. I know lionsgate did it to mr h for one of their films.

Yeah, they probably have all the test-screeners sign a non-disclosure agreement, so saying anything would be a violation of that agreement. ... but I'm sure they don't make any threats if someone is saying good things.:cwink:

And to be completely fair, they're still doing reshoots, so the final film is likely to be very different than what people have already seen.

... but it seems Kinberg is doing the reshoots, so it's still not going to be good.:yuk:

Thought some here may get a kick out of the latest HISHE vid.

With the reveal of how the Skrulls will look in Captain Marvel, people on twitter are starting to hope for the Fantastic Family.
The more people who clamour for the FF the better.

Also, Captain Marvel's suit is perfect and gets me excited for how Marvel would do the FF.

I wonder what Dark Phoenix’s rendition of the Skrulls will look like(assuming they’re still in the film). A reminder to those not in the know: Marvel and Fox currently share the rights to the Skrulls — for example, if I’m not mistaken, Fox owns the rights to the Super-Skrulls while Marvel/Disney owns the rights to the regular shape-shifting ones. I could be wrong on the details, but I do know for sure Fox has partial rights to the Skrulls.

I think if there were skrull elements to the aliens in Dark Pheonix then probably those reshoots are scrubbing any trace of skrulls.

I just saw the photos and was coming in here to comment. It's so bittersweet. On one hand, it's great to see the characters from FF comic books coming to life... again (not just the Skrulls, but Ronan the Accuser) , but so frustrating to still be waiting for the FF.

... and I just have a bad feeling that all Marvel's mojo will be used up by the time they get around to doing FF.

I'm sure they'll be very "grounded" :funny:

I sort of suspect they'll have "shape-shifters" but they won't call them Skrulls and they won't look like Skrulls.

Weren't there reports that Jessica Chastain was playing a Skrull in Dark Whatever? She looked pretty much how you'd expect a Fox-Men alien to look: bland, drab, human.

That little bit of gossip about MCU Doom stung a little. He could be Trump personified with the right style.

And Dark Phoenix is still a thing? Oh.

That photo is why I feel bad for the cast. I think Fox was genuinely trying. I was hyped for the F4 to meet the xmen.
Unfortunately that was probably never going to happen. It's believed talk of a crossover film was just a marketing ploy to get X-men fans invested in Fant4stic. Since the X rights and the F4 rights were different contract negotiated at different times there was nothing saying they could do a crossover, they would need Marvel to sign off on it. Though Marvel could just "sure go for it" I don't think they were ever even approached for it.

It will be a damn shame not to have the FF soon when we're getting the Skrulls. The FF and the Skrulls seem like they go hand in hand, particularly K'lirt the Super Skrull. That would be something to see him take on the power of the Fantastic Four. What would really be great though is to see him do it once against the Avengers with their powers, and then show up again and do the same thing with the FF. I like when a villain fights one hero and then later on becomes a villain for another hero. That was what was so great about Dr Doom.

Looking at it in a positive light, it might be a good thing the Skrulls are making their MCU debut before the FF. That way they are an established set of characters. We'll all know what they are about, so that when the Super Skrull is introduced in an FF movie they don't have to explain how he's any different from the rest of the species. It will be apparent to everybody in the audience without having to explain what a baseline Skrull is about.
Also, having tried an invasion of Earth in the 90s and failed, sets them up for having to go through the process of creating their own super soldiers in order to accomplish their goal.

I think they were alluding to people like Kim Jong Un or Putin, not our President...regardless, we had bigger threats during the 60s when Lee and Kirby came up with Doom and it wasn't a problem then, it shouldn't be one now...Doom MUST have Latveria at his command...period! No room for negotiations...no changing...that is a YUUUUGE part of his character and background

I agree. Let Doom be Doom. Not going to lie, if that nugget about Doom in the MCU is true (that he cannot rule his own country), then it dampens my FF enthusiasm drastically. But, at this stage I take that with a grain of salt. It's way too far out to know anything.

Couldn't have phrased it better Spider Fan....it did scare me briefly but it is soooo far away let us hope that the F4 are the F4 and Doom is Doom...PERIOD
