I don't think letting the FF wait is a bad thing. Give them time to get it right. Plus with Skrulls now in play and the FF rights back they can do Super Skrull when they do a FF film.

Doom being neutered doesn't change my anticipation for the FF (much), but it would be a huge fail for the MCU in general.

To have Doom and not use him properly would be damn shame.

But I trust Marvel's track record far more than I trust somebody posting on the internet that they heard something.

While I've seen some mixed reaction to the look of the Skrulls, they look like Skrulls to me. Just seeing Skrulls is cool. I can't even imagine what it will be like the first time we get an image of Doom.:D

Again, I would more entertain that conversation once we got something credible. But hypothetically, if Doom was drastically changed like that, it would tell me Marvel/Disney don't understand him, so why should I have faith that the FF wouldn't be in a similar position?

But again, I don't really entertain this notion as I don't think thatt report is credible at this point.

I don't understand what our political climate has to do with Doom being a sovereign leader of a foreign country.

Yeah, Victor is pretty much a better dressed Putin running a country with a smaller geographical footprint. The idea of a foreign dictator causing havoc throughout the world whilst enjoying diplomatic immunity is pretty easy to swallow.

I'm not taking that Doom rumor seriously. They haven't even got the rights back yet, they aren't making decisions on it to the point where it can be leaked.
Also, they would have to make Doom a monarch to separate him from the horrible previous version that were too scared to make him the dictator he is.

Latveria is a part of Doom and to get rid of that would remove most of what makes the character who they are. You might as well not make Reed a scientist.

Kevin Feige isn't thinking about the Fox-licensed Marvel characters in any serious capacity until the deal is closed. This report is bogus and is about as real as the tooth fairy.

The writers of Infinity War would beg to differ with this report.

Eh, I need to see more but I kind of wish they went the CGI/Mo-Cap route instead of going with prosthetics for the Skrulls. Hulk is another green-skinned Marvel character that looks great(most of the time) with CGI so I was wishing they would do the same with the Skrulls. Granted, perhaps in the final film they will look much better and will actually look menacing but as of right now I'm not very impressed.

That's a very good point. Who should we trust more, them or some vague rumor on the internet?

You all are correct...just even the slightest scare of not seeing Doom done justice worries me because we always assumed Marvel would do him justice and if they fail, then there is no hope left...they are the endgame for those characters...

Honestly I am a little nervous because they have done some questionable things with villains. But they do seem to be getting better on that front.

For the villains that really deserved to be treated in epic and grand fashion, they've delivered imo. Aside from the earlier days of the mcu, I think winter soldier, dormamu(I know very short lived but look at the inherent potential), killmonger, loki, and thanos were all treated seriously. Dr. Doom is the biggest villain in comic book history. Feige knew they had to deliver with thanos. We've been waiting longer than 10 years to get the Dr. Doom (and FF for that matter) we deserve. And everyone at marvel knows this.

They went for the twist with Mandarin and IMO it backfired. At least they threw it out there that its a legit Mandarin some where.

Fox left so much on the table with Doom it shouldnt be to hard to adapt him properly. And they know how the fans feel.

Personally, I'd take the LotR orcs over the Black Order any day of the week. The problem with the CM Skrulls is the design itself... it just isn't good.

Now that’s more like it!

What are you guys talking about? The Skrulls look like Skrulls.

And I too and happy it’s practical makeup. As good as the moCap has been getting, it’s still not at the level of the real thing.

The Skrulls looked pretty much what I would expect them to look like. They look like the Skrulls. They are green. They are bald. They have the right ears. That's the Skrulls.

I'd only change the shade of green on the Skrulls. Something that they can do in post.

I agree. Long, pointy ears, check. Green, check. Oversized textured chin, check. I might make the shade of green a little darker, but other than that, they look fine to me. I'm not going to get hung up on the shade of green or other minor details.

They're not going to look exactly like the comics because they're real, three dimensional things rather than simple drawings, and different artists have drawn them differently.

Agreed. Though this happens pretty much every time we see a comic character adapted on screen for the first time. And if the movie ends up being good, no one cares. The perms-white debate for Ledger’s Joker ran for nearly a year straight. Constant debate, when the movie was great, nobody cared anymore.

I personally was never a huge fan of the TDK Batsuit, but it was a great film and it worked well enough.

The Skrulls look like their comic counterpart. We could debate small things, sure, but as you say, there is always a level of artistic interpretation.

I wonder if they’ll keep the actors voices or if they’ll jazz it up a bit to sound more reptilian? Could help make it creepier when they transform into another human

I do think the Skrulls would have benefited more from being motion capture like Corvus Glaive. You can get the unnatural face shape without worrying about prosthetics conforming to the human face

It's not really that unnatural a shape. Maybe a longer and bigger chin. They could've gotten Jay Leno for something like that. :o

But seriously though, Star Trek aliens have had faces that haven't been completely conforming to the human face. I'm fine with all the Star Trek aliens.

I just hope these Skrulls don't sound like the new Klingons from Star Trek Discovery who always are incomprehensible because they sound like their false teeth are too big for their mouth.

I hope there is at least some difference between the voices when they are in their Skrull and human form.

In an EW interview Ben Mendelsohn said the Skrulls have an Australian accent (Ben's an Aussie) but he speaks 'Murican when impersonating a SHIELD officer.

Oh right, thanks for that. Good to know. And a bit weird lol.
