He's more in vein of Daniel RPK or Jeremy Conrad. Plus he has actually worked within 20th Century Fox. So I'm not going to dismiss this guy. A Weapon X prequel set in the MCU could be amazing

Just speaking in general here, and not specifically about Disney/Fox, but is licensing rights to a third party always a bad idea? And if you do licence rights, what is a reasonable time period?

With your books you've written, do you still own the copyright to that or have you assigned that to a publisher? Or, if you still own them, have you licensed your rights to them? Would you ever consider doing that? Or, having seen the situation here with Marvel and Fox and how long it's taken for them to get the rights back, is that something you'd never consider?
Normally a novelist keeps copyright of thier creations and licensing to a 3rd party after publication is both essential and potentially very lucrative for them if they want a film or TV adaptation done from their work.

With comic books it has been a rather different story for creators. For the big 2 the publisher owns the copyrights, and DC didnt need to licence out anything after Warner bought them. Marvel however were in no position to make movies when they licenced out anything they could back in the 90's.

Although licencing out made perfect sense back then Marvel made terrible deals. From the puny cut of the box office to the in perpetuity clauses, they got hosed big time.

Very funny to think they'll be at the drawing board starting early planning on the X-Men while Kinberg is doing press calling Dark Phoenix a new beginning lmao.
Poor fella

At least he got to direct an actual big franchise Hollywood movie, that’s more than I bet he ever expected would happen.

Watch in the coming years the MCU is gonna stand for Mutant Cinematic Universe. You literally could just craft the X-Men and their millions of characters as the MCU by itself (eventhough we know it won’t happen like that).

I really hope they call the first one Uncanny.

It would be smart for them to do it. To distance themselves from the Fox movies

Here's to another 30 years of Feige at the helm (please :O).

Highly irrational thinking on my part but for Feige to say they’re gonna start crafting ideas for X-Men/F4 next summer, I think Storm really will be in Black Panther 2.

Rogue/Mystique for CM2. That would really be so much fun.

Imagine what this place would be like if we got news like that!

Marvel need to get those Universal rights for solo Hulk and Namor films. Yes, they can put them in group films, but imagine having a solo Hulk film so that it can be the perfect place for MCU Wolverine to debut. It's not quite the same having Hulk guest starring in a Wolverine film as it is having Wolverine guest starring in a Hulk film.

How so? His contract is ending with End Game.

Writing an article with a dumb headline saying "Marvel FANS ARE FREAKING OUT" over a handful of tweets. OK, a few people tweeted about it means everyone is freaking out? It's hot garbage.

Look none of these actors are going to stay on forever. It's something everyone has to come to grips with at some point.

I’m not so sure Marvel will be that interested in doing a Namor film after Aquaman has proven to be so successful. They can have him cameo in FF & Avengers films, sure, but it’s unlikely they will do a Namor film at this point even if they did get back the full rights.

It’s kind of like if Warners Bros was trying to do an Atom movie after Marvel has already done Ant-Man.

It would be ideal to get full rights there as well. It might take some skill to do Namor properly in a post-Aquaman world.

Yeah, I mean perpetuity is excessive. They should have made it 25 years or so.

Oh yeah, I just mentioned that straight after you lol. Aquaman has made too much of a splash to do a Namor right now IMO. Of course I'd love to get Namor into the MCU but someone with more vision than me will have to figure out the best way to do it now that Aquaman is all over the place.

I just want Norman Osborn in the MCU. He should have been a main player in the MCU and he could have easily played the "Tony Stark" role of Phase 4. Oscorp becoming the new Stark Industries.

I would have loved to see that. It's a shame the Spidey rights are still a bit complicated.

Not giving Michael Keaton the role of Norman Osborn is the only real misfire I think the MCU made.
