It makes no sense to me that they are seriously thinking about Eternals over other characters.
It kind of does because of Thanos but I get your point. They really should introduce the X-men and Fantastic Four. Imagine the reaction of seeing the claws of Wolverine after End Game or the Silver Surfer heralding the arrival of Galactus.

Same could (and was) said about Guardians of the Galaxy.

When Marvel did the Guardians, they didn't suddenly come into possession of hundreds of characters in a huge historic deal like the Disney-Fox one.

They should be focused on the New Avengers. Since Endgame is the swansong of the Phase 1 actors, doesn't it make sense to focus on the legacy of the Avengers franchise? New Avengers was amazing. Bringing in Namor, founding the Illuminati, maybe doing a 'West Coast Avengers' show on Disney+

Not even taking into account the X-Men and Fantastic Four. I'd love to see a Nova movie about Richard Rider expanding the Nova Corps mythology.

Getting the real Nova in the MCU should be no problem now that Gunn is out of the picture.

Eternals should be the last thing on their mind right now in my opinion.

They should definitely be doing Nova or Nova Corp in the next phases. Eternals just makes no sense to me, especially since they kicked Inhumans out of the MCU and put it to TV.

And look, I'm not saying an Eternals movie could never be good. I just think it's an odd choice. Even when they did Guardians of the Galaxy, I thought it was a great idea because the setting could make it like a Marvel Star Wars, and it was clearly inspired by the excellent DnA run of GotG.

My point is simply that Feige & co will have already mapped out a broad post endgame plan. They will have been working on that before we even heard rumours of the Fox deal. As things stand, before the deal is done at any rate, the Eternals are a part of that.

And I remember fans being puzzled about the Guardians getting a film, but they were always intended to become a major part of the Thanos story and it all worked out great. I'd trust Feige knows how to use the Eternals well for whatever he has in mind for the post Endgame MCU.

That being said we have seen nothing is set in stone as plans were changed to accommodate Spider-Man. I'm not sure they would tank the Eternals plans (whatever they might be) but they might bump them back a bit to allow for the bigger name homecomers to get an introduction.

The biggest twist would be if Eternals ends up being a place holder for a Fox property. Anything is possible. I mean look at what happened with Captain America 3 and the title troll. Serpent Society was a place holder for Civil War. The Fox deal was announced over a year ago now. Who know's what they got up to behind the scenes during 2018. Feige claims they haven't started working on anything but hes not going to reveal publicly if he had that would put the deal at risk. Even if Eternals isn't a place holder and it actually happens I'm curious enough about it that i'll give it a chance. Plus they could still use it to introduce the mutant gene in the MCU.

The Nova corps could be for Marvel what Green Lantern is to DC. There is so much potential with that property, going full on Space Sci-Fi would fit nicely into Feige's plans for an expanded Cosmic universe.

To tell you the truth, I wish we were still getting Inhumans over the Eternals. It's a shame that Feige didn't see the potential in the property and damned it to Marvel TV where it could have never been done justice on budget. Done right, the Inhumans could be Disney's Game of Thrones.

I'm gonna give Eternals a chance but I just don't get how that property Is taking precedence over more important stuff. I've been an avid Marvel comics reader for 20 years since I got into comics in the late 90s and I've never even heard of the Eternals.

I would've rather seen the Inhumans instead of the Eternals too. Their characters are more interesting and more tied to the rest of the Marvel Universe, especially the Fantastic Four.

As one era closes, another begins.

I spent the night watching Avengers: Infinity War for the second time since seeing it in the theater, and for the second time I was blown away by how Marvel Studios created such an enormous, amazing universe. But even more than that, I was blown away by the fact that we have seen in the past decade only a fraction of the magnificence of this world. This is only the start of the journey for you and me- the best is perhaps yet to come. For today is the last time we change the calendars without a nigh-complete Marvel Cinematic Universe.

This is just the beginning.

Youve only seen it twice? Think I must have seen it well over 15 times. Can top Kevin Smith tho at 48 times.

It’s going to be fun to see what happens with the Sony/Marvel deal, and when we get the first proof of the FF/X-men being mentioned in a MCU movie.

At least Edgar Wright wasn't negotiating the Disney Fox contract or else we could be waiting another 20 years. :o

Between Inhumans and Eternals, I would've rather had Inhumans as well, especially if Fantastic Four is going to be in play. The Inhumans TV series was such a tragedy.

Maybe Marvel can sell it on me eventually, but I just don't get Eternals and why it could be good or make a great movie. It just doesn't make sense when you look at the rest of the MCU.

Happy new year! Here is to a 2019 with the FF and X-men in the MCU. Just have to get past the looming thud that is the dark phoenix saga. Wish it had gone with the snap.

-2019 is the year the first ever MCU movie headlined by a female lead will be released.

-2019 is the year Avengers Endgame will be released which will serve as the finale to the MCU as we know it. We shall be saying goodbye to many old faces and it will change the MCU forever.

-2019 is the year that will end the Fox era of the X-Men. I know the Fox-Men has its detractors but I will personally see Dark Phoenix in theaters as I want to say goodbye to this iteration of the franchise(assuming Dark Phoenix & New Mutants don’t get shelved).

-2019 is the year Spider-Man’s second solo installment in the world MCU is released.

And most importantly 2019 is the year the Disney/Fox deal will be closed leading to the Mutants and First Family finally returning home after so many years of being away.

2019 will ultimately be the year that....

HOPE WILL BE REWARDED!!!

Id say if all goes well and the deal closes in the next few months the soonest well see the fox franchises is probably summer of 2021.if we use spiderman as an example.

it took marvel 2 and half years to get a spiderman movie out from Feb 2015 - July 2017. Summer of 21 seems like the safe bet. i wouldnt rule out cameos before then tho.

Cameos could happen early, sure. I see X-Men as a harder property to get right though so I'd prefer they didn't rush. They really need to get it right first time .

Happy new year everyone. May we all get to have all we desire this year.

I also wish that Marvel will get the film rights to all their characters this year.

It's definitely time for Nova and hopefully Nova Corps. Hopefully in Phase 4, but Phase 5 at the very latest.

Agreed. They should definitely be targeting a GL Corps equivalent with Nova Corps. And I hope Inhumans has a shot of getting a film once the show has had time to be forgotten.

I also wish that Marvel will get the film rights to all their characters this year.

And maybe ones that were just licensed to them before like Conan the Barbarian, Micronauts or Rom the Spaceknight?

Happy 2019, everyone! We wait now for Marvel's First Family and the Children of the Atom not years, but months- and if rumors are to believed, days! Happy 2019 indeed!
