In all honesty, If Feige left Wolverine out of the first 3 films, I'd be completely fine with that. The X-Men are more than Wolverine and most people don't seem to realize this because of the Fox-Men films. I could see the logic of Feige wanting to rebrand the X-Men's image. Wolverine can show up in non-XM movies as a lone wolf and I'd be okay with that

Leaving him out of the first 3 might be a bit much. They could do a new standalone wolverine trilogy along side the first x-men trilogy(including iconic moments like wolverine vs hulk etc) which builds up to him joining the x-men in the third x-men movie. I think they could do a new wolverine by 2022. 5 years after Logan. The good thing is Logan wasn't a bad movie unlike Fantastic Four. it was perfect the way it was so they may not feel they have to wait as long to recast compared to something like FF where they may not reintroduce them till 2025 lol. Just to avoid the stench of the 2015 movie.

That's wayyy too much focus on Wolverine imo. Another Wolverine trilogy could be a Storm movie or a Dazzler movie instead. A Starjammers movie. I'd rather have a Wolverine: Weapon X miniseries on Disney+ instead of taking up a movie slot. Then he can appear in different films through the MCU and then he can come back in X-Men 3

Leaving Wolverine out of the first MCU X-Men film is one thing but leaving him out of the entire trilogy is kind of nuts. People want to see the character in this universe. If Wolverine doesn’t appear in first film at all(assuming they don’t have a post-credit scene with him in it) then he’ll likely appear in the second film. There are ways to have the character included in the series without having him hog up the spotlight like he did in the Fox-movies. The solution is simple: Make him a supporting character instead of a main character and give other characters time to shine.

Let the other X-Men shine for a damn change. It’s high time for Logan to have a siesta and let Cyclops, Storm, Rogue, Psylocke and the lot of them have the spotlight.

Just get a different cast and I’m cool with it.

Yeah, that could likely be quite manageable with a mini-series. I really hope these MCU mini-series totally take off as they could potentially put so many more options on the table.

Exactly. That's how Claremont handled him for the first several years of his run. Wolvie was the supporting character who sometimes stole the show. Someone you constantly got just enough of, and always wanted more.

Especially having to fill Hugh's shoes, this approach would be best. Jackman will cast a long shadow over the role and you don't want a "George Lazenby" sized backlash. Let folks ease into accepting a new actor as Logan. Giving him the mask this time out will also help differentiate the Fox style and MCU style.

I’m all for another Wolverine trilogy tbh. I think he’s the best X-Men character and the one that can best carry their own franchise. You guys are letting your personal feelings get in the way of logic. Just because YOU are disappointed how Wolverine got all the focus in the Fox movies doesn’t make him a bad character, or change the fact that he’s the character that has always been best equipped to lead his own series. He’s popular for a reason. Whether he’s overexposed or not is irrelevant.

Wolverine doesn’t have to be shelved to give other characters the spotlight. He can take more of a backseat than he did in the Fox films without being a background character or “taking a siesta” lol. You guys are just pissed that he got all the attention in the Fox movies. Understandable, but you guys aren’t being logical. He’s one of the greatest Marvel heroes and we’re finally going to see the definitive version of him onscreen.

A Dazzler or Storm trilogy doesn’t interest me. Give me a Hulk/Wolverine movie over that any day.

If anything, I like for Wolverine to be a counterpoint to Cyclops early in story. In my view wouldn’t it be interested to have Wolverine constantly berate and insult that wimpy “softie” Cyclops & challenge him for leadership of the team until Cyclops eventually proves he is worthy of being the team leader leading to Wolverine to develop some mutual respect for Scott?

Wolverine’s cynical, jaded, personality can actually help serve as an interesting contrast to the other X-Men and make characters like Cyclops look good if the MCU manages to make Scott look cooler than Logan(if that’s possible).

Especially a wolverine series that could give a better sabertooth, lady deathstrike, omega red and more. I'm totally fine with him being a supporting character/action plot device in the xmen series.

keeping logan out of all the x-men films is a mistake

he doesn't need to be the focal point, but marvel has done a great balancing roles in their ensemble movies. Give him a role like Banner's in A1 and thats perfect. a few key moments to shine, but he doesn't dictate the overall plot.

I think they'll perhaps delay introducing Wolverine- but only for a little while if that's the case. Yes, Marvel Studios will want to differentiate themselves from Fox, and yes, they'll undoubtedly be more willing and competent in shining a light on the entire ensemble of characters, but they'll also realize that Wolverine has been the breakout character of the X-Men for decades, and that he contributed perhaps more than any other character to the longevity of the franchise. Plus, let's face it: Marvel Studios is ultimately a business- and if Wolverine means better business, the choice is obvious.

Wolverine will obviously front the new FF movie.

Honestly, my preference would be use Wolverine in another movie. Give him his own solo. Then put him in Uncanny X-Men 2. I would not put him in the 1st one. In fact, I would make the post credits scene in his solo Xavier coming to meet him. I would develop a younger X-Men team in the 1st film. I think they may be too tempted to let Wolverine dominate the movie if he is in it, and given he can support his own X-Men less solo easily using Alpha Flight in his own movie and covering his backstory, I would do that.

Definitely on board with Logan not being in the first x-men film. Establish the team and the world around them. Let us watch them struggle and overcome, while we fall in love with the x-men all over again as I know we’ve all done many times over.

But a Logan centered post credit scene giving us a taste of what’s to come would be so awesome.

Wolverine in a Hulk movie first.

Then Wolverine in an Alpha Flight movie.

That already sets him on a different path to X-Men without him even being in the team yet.

They prolly wont do a hulk movie. But it would work vice versa.

It's not quite the same though having Hulk in a Wolverine movie as it is having Wolverine in a Hulk movie. Just doesn't have quite the same momentous feel or significance.

I get that. Just from a technical standpoint given how vocal they've been about hulks distribution rights and ruffalos desire for a solo flick I just doubt we'll get one anytime soon.
