Expect Feige to talk about the new properties on the press tour for Endgame

I honestly don't think he'll say much. There's a reason they haven't announced anything Phase 4 yet. They learned their lesson.

Something like, "Now we can finally put our ideas that I told you guys about a few months back to paper and start the work. So many different opportunities, characters, and storylines. These great characters and stories will be introduced to the MCU and will be great....now, Avengers EndGame is fantastic and I am looking forward to seeing your reaction as we close this part of the MCU arc".

Yeah, I am expecting nothing answers like "It's great to have all the toys in the toybox back now" or "We're stilling ironing out some details, but we have plans." Things like that. We won't get "Hey guys, Adam McKay is making our Silver Surfer movie!!!! Be there in 20XX!!!" or anything like that.

Oh yea I wonder what this means for Dark Phoenix? I think its a bit too late for Disney to pull it's release entirely but moving it to Hulu could be a thing I guess.

So does this mean its time to turn this thread's attention to Universal and Sony?
I guess, but honestly I feel its over. Most of the important ones are coming back in full control and the remaining important ones like Hulk and Spider-Man already have presence in the MCU and I'm not too sure Marvel will use Namor even if they had full access to him considering they would have to work really hard to differentiate the character from Aquaman. The best Marvel could do with Namor is have the character play a supporting role in crossover movies similar to what the Hulk is currently doing in the MCU.

There's still the possibility of Spider-Man being pulled out of the MCU after Far From Home but that's assuming Sony is able to make successful superhero movies besides Venom. There's little chance Sony will luck out with Morbius the same way they did with Venom since they don't have Marvel's magic of turning obscure characters with little mainstream recognition into mainstream hits like Guardians. Venom alone isn't going to be enough to support an entire cinematic universe and it wouldn't surprise me if the Venom sequel under-preforms & makes less than the previous one(like what happened with Ghost Rider). Sony will eventually get desperate and might eventually come to view the deal they have with Marvel as a safety net that they need to maintain. Plus, if Far From home makes serious bank and exceeds expectations(I think it might potentially make over a billion dollars) Sony would've have to be f**cking stupid to not renew the deal.

If Sony pulls Spider-Man from the MCU the franchise would nose dive. They saw how the audience rejected the amazing spider-man 2 surely they cant be that stupid? And pull that crap again? The franchise was lucky to recover after that movie.

Regardless of if Morbius is not a sure fire hit, Venom being one sets a scary precedent

Also there's no guarantee Marvel would be all that welcoming 2nd time around. Sony can't really afford for Spidey to find himself in a TASM2 situation again given the shakiness of their other franchises.

Venom was an outlier imo. I dont think the sequel do as well. And I dont see the audience caring about Morbius.
I can see it doing well in China again but seeing a significant drop in the US and Europe.

Unless Jared Leto can summon his legion of fans to support Morbius I dont see it going anywhere. Thats basically the only chance this movie has and maybe why Sony cast Leto in the 1st place.

Morbius I see being a modest hit. Remember, Venom's reported budget I think was $100 mil (discounting marketing expenses). Morbius likely will be even cheaper. So the movie only will need to make like 200-300 mil WW to be a smash hit for Sony.

A lot of people said the same thing about Venom. I could see Venom 2 doing better than the first film simply based in the fact that Sony has found it's own audience and they know what works for people. They're probably going to embrace the camp in the sequel.

Morbius is probably low-budget so it may not need to make blockbuster bucks to be considered a hit

It sucks that we are probably going to have to wait at least until Venom 2 to see the future of Sony's Marvel verse and where it stands box office wise. (I refuse to call it SUMC)

I think some studio acquisitions will be happening with FAANG getting serious about streaming. Paramount, SPE, Lionsgate are attractive targets. I just hope Disney was smart enough to make the rights non transferable when they did the 2015 amendment.

The only upside to Sony owning the rights is that as the rumour goes that it was Sony Japan that pushed for the Marvel deal to happen.

It will be Comcast all over again except with Sony and Spider-Man
