I'm so happy for everyone. This thread made me join this forum after 5 years of lurking. The excitement when Comcast dropped out of the bid was contagious that I had to register to comment on it. Here's to a brighter future for the Fantastic four and the Xmen.

It just hit me that Logan is now a Disney movie lol. Unreal.

The war isn't over kids.

The Disney-Fox deal was our New Hope where things end happily and the Sony/Marvel Spider-Man situation will end up being our Empire Strikes Back where it ends badly and Spider-Man is pulled out of the MCU!

Crushing the dreams and hopes of fans everywhere of Spider-Man meeting the FF and X-Men on film.

Our return of the Jedi will be when Apple buys Sony and Apple sells spidey back cause iger is on the Apple board.

So then what's our Return of the Jedi?

The other option is we just hope Disney was smart enough to put a clause in the amended 2015 deal for the rights to revert in case Sony is ever bought.

Marvel has the merchandising rights. It's only a matter of time, even if Sony is sold.. Right now the arrangement is working and if Lord & Miller keep producing the animated films and Marvel the MCU ones, I'm OK with the status quo. Different situation then Fox.

It's insane that Deadpool is representative of the X-Men brand on Disney's website. That just speaks to the current state of the film franchise. Deadpool has overtaken it
And to think Fox wanted nothing to do with him originally.

Well foX wasted the original cast so good riddance. And more X-Men films under Simon Kinberg "supervision" would just tarnish the franchise that the original cast built on. The franchise deserved a better ending than Dark PhoeniX and foX didn't even try to get another director for that one. So yeah good riddance.

More films featuring the less appealing younger versions, Deadpool films that treat X-Men characters a gag, and movies featuring mutants that doesn't have anything to do with the previous films. Thank God, its ending now.

Kinberg is put in his backyard kicking rocks
Insert the Rocket beating up grass gif.... not sure he knows the difference.

Feige has talked about having contingencies in place in case they get these properties back. I don't think it's going to take as long as some thing it might

Feige is a man with a plan and back up plans!
Yep.... Our man walks in and yells the command to open those plans up,telling the team to shatter that glass....
They have them in a case... labeled "Break Glass Upon Merger Completion."

So now it's complete. It would be nice to have an announcement from Disney other than the one they posted yesterday that was pre-closing. More importantly, I'd like an announcement from Feige.

Would also be funny to get an announcement from Kinberg about a new slate of X-Men films under Fox.

Where the heck is our truly Willie Lumpkin?!?!!

In his mailman outfit, trying to pitch Feige on his idea for the FF?
Delivering the first batch of mail to the MCU's Baxter Building?
Sleeping off a hangover from celebrating, like I should be?
