Something as simple as a bright silver 'meteor' shooting past the GOTG et al, rocking their ship and prompting Rocket to say "What the hell was that?" would get people like us giddy while not locking in any story-lines, cast, design etc.

I wouldn't be surprised if they filmed something like that.

I think we've discussed this before, but I think they could get away with a casual verbal reference to mutants or the Baxter building. Maybe even a mention of the Fantastic Four's I'll-fated space mission. Imagine seeing a reference to a private space mission on a newscast regarding Reed, Sue etc?

I think a movie is gonna be later than 2021. The schedule probably looks something like this:

May 2020 - Black Widow
Nov 2020 - Eternals
Feb 2021 - Panther 2
May 2021 - Strange 2
Nov 2021 - Shang Chi
Feb 2022 - Cap Marvel 2
May 2022 - Guardians 3
July 2022 - Ant Man 3

Plus all the Disney+/Hulu shows. Unless they take up the Fox spots and fast track other movies, I don't expect an XMen or FF movie until late 2022 or 2023. Cameos and intro before that, of course. If I'm wrong I'll be happy to eat crow.
Accurate, but I think we'll see 4 MCU movies in either 2021 or 2022

Yeah, the only thing preventing them from including those things in the film from the start would have been the threat of Fox suing.

Knowing the situation as they were filming, they could have included all kinds of things with the idea that they just wouldn't include any of them if the deal wasn't done by that time.

I wouldn't even be surprised if we actually see a Baxter Building in construction in Far From Home.

Gunn has said he wanted SS, right? That could be one advantage of the mess. He now has plenty of time to work with Feige and fit SS in with no restrictions.

Gunn has also referenced Gladiator (not the Daredevil guy) as a favorite. Maybe this was the plan all along? Fire Gunn for a ridiculous reason in order to delay the film to incorporate the Surfer, Galactus, Annihilus, the Shi'ar and the Imperial Guard into Volume 3?

I'm not familiar with the Guardians in the comics. Are those common adversaries for them? When I think of Surfer, Galactus and Annihilus I think of the FF. Same with the Shi'ar and the Imperial Guard with the X-Men.

They're going up to 4 movies a year. So that leaves a couple of slots open.

I think it's either the Baxter building or more likely, Oscorp

I hope it's Oscorp. Reusing things for the FF makes the universe feel smaller. That's why I also don't want their origin tied to the Quantum Realm.

I'm starting to get a sinking feeling when it comes to core elements of the Spider myth of and why we still don't see the Osborns or J. Jonah Jameson, the Bugle etc. I'm worried the Sony deal is preventing key elements being adapted and maybe why a lot of what we have got is so different already.

That's very likely, Sony most likely kept many things for itself.

I've been thinking the same thing. It would certainly explain the whole Michelle "MJ" Jones thing which still baffles me..I find it weird that Marvel has not used Jameson yet. He's the perfect character for the MCU

I doubt it'll happen but... remember the little nods to the ill-fated journey of the Icarus spaceship in Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Something like that in Endgame would be a fun subtle nod to Fantastic Four.

As for the X-Men I really think The Eternals is a part of Feige's long term plan for bringing mutants into the MCU. I don't think it's the only reason the film is being made obviously but he knew the deal was coming and that an Eternals movie afforded him the opportunity to start seeding in elements that will come to fruition in X-Men.

Many of the Guardians characters were reintroduced in Annihilation and became a team Abnett and Lanning's Annihilation Conquest, series which incorporated most of what we know as cosmic Marvel. I would be surprised if Volume 3 doesn't at least introduce a handful of newly acquired characters and/or alien races.

The fact that they showed it being sold in Homecoming makes me think it's Oscorp.

I don't. I think Marvel is behind a lot of the changes because they wanted to be different from the other iterations. They still did the casting and Watts is behind the changing of characters like Flash, MJ, Ned, etc.

He'll no longer be under the gun to get things done in a certain way.

Will Constantin allow Kevin Feige to make Fantastic Four movies? The internet told me they own the rights.

A random user on SHH told me LSD company owns the X-Men rights. Will her company allow Feige to produce X-Men movies?

They must've been taking LSD to think that.

Seems like it could be to do with legal restrictions. That could even be why they have MJ instead of Mary Jane. Maybe the Mary Jane character is off limits?

Yeah, let's not blame Sony for Marvel's missteps. Marvel Studios are no strangers to doing stupid things.

Eternals may explain the existence of mutants and x gene but how will it be incorporated into the world and history? Mutants have always existed but everyone thought it was all meta powers?

Feige even said the "Michelle/MJ" thing was used because it would be a "fun easter egg" for fans :whatever:
