They’re already about to be out of a job, I don’t see the reason to pile on.

The Kinberg stuff is mildly funny just because he’s kept going about like nothing was happening, but the cast has mostly kept quiet about all of this, with a few notable exceptions. Some of them are really good and I hope they get second chances with different characters whether it be with Marvel or DC.

Shipp had to face hate on social media and that's never OK.

Leave them alone. This franchise is ending, and it must not feel good for the actors to lose that job. It's not hard to empathize.

We'll get our MCU X-Men anyway, so there's no need to throw **** at them.

She’s a bird bro.

She made a lot of ignorant comments about black people and her lack of understanding about colorism. She just rubs me the wrong way too.
Shipp IS black, my dude. Her comments are based in her own experiences as a black woman. It's honestly disheartening to see her piled on becuz she defended herself from the attacks

I never said she wasn’t. But her black parent totally failed her because judging from her tweets, she sounds like a privileged white chick who is totally clueless regarding the problems that Hollywood has with colorism and her taking roles that wasn’t meant for her. And it doesn’t help that her acting skills are just nonexistent to say the least.

But that’s a thread for another day.

Half black my dude . Just cause your black doesn’t mean you can’t be direspecful to ur own. And she disrespected black women with her comments and played the victim. Good riddance to her and her crap portrayal of storm

There are two sides to every story. Shipp has mainly gone on the offensive because they came for her, attacking her identity and dismissing her experiences. The hate for Shipp us just.. Overbearing. She played Storm.. Why are they going after her instead of Singer or Kinberg? They were the ones who cast her in the role. I heard they even wanted Zendaya initially before she turned it down

The world sees her as a black woman and she identifies as a black woman. She played the victim because she IS the victim. They came for her, she didn't come for them. Have you seen some of the comments she's gotten from people? You have a combination of benighted people who have a very specific vision of Storm that Shipp doesn't fit in their in mind and you have others who just hate Shipp because she stands up for herself. Out of all the Apocalypse cast members, Shipp has gotten the most hate. And it's almost always to do with the color of her skin.

Personally, I don't blame Shipp; she was cast because she plays the same Storm as Halle Berry, who is also half White/half Black, and in the Foxverse Ororo isn't really African but has a mixed heritage. But I do blame Shipp for being naive enough to believe that Marvel Studios will not recast her nor any of the X-Men roles when they transitioned to MCU, even after many people have told her why she's wrong. Here's a chance she can join MCU as another character, but her days as Storm is over.

And that's the problem: atleast Zendaya understood that everything isn't meant for everyone. I'm not mixed but I'm Zendaya/TI complexion, that's like having me being cast as T'Challa and then defending that silly decision. Granted we all know fans can be a**holes and trolls, but Shipp constantly puts her foot in her mouth singling out just black fans and it's just not a good look with her.

Speaking of which, I really wished that Disney/Sony had the balls to make Zendaya and Laura Harrier both the real MJ and Gwen Stacy. Fanboys would've lost their damn minds.

From the posts I've read, it seems as though most fanboys would have preferred Zendaya had been cast as Mary Jane Watson. Outside of having a smidge more melanin than the comic book version she would have been pretty much perfect for that role (though I still like her as MJ.)

I think what fans don't like is that she's just MJ in initials only. She isn't even the actual Mary Jane Watson character at all. It's not even her name. She's Michelle Jones. And if she does eventually turn out to be Mary Jane, it's like they're jumping through all kinds of hoops to get her there.

It would be like if Patience Phillips (Halle Berry) in the Catwoman movie eventually decided to call herself Selina Kyle. They're not even the same person and eventually using the classic name feels like a cheap token bone thrown out to appease fans.

A missed opportunity. Same way Keaton would've been a marvelous Norman Osborn.

Speaking of Catwoman, Disney technically owns the rights to Batman 66 tv series right? Since it was a 20th Century Fox production?

Is there something they can trade with WB in return for the rights to the Batman 66 series? It seems a bit ridiculous that Disney/ Fox would have the rights now when they focus on Marvel. Are they even going to do anything with it, or is it going to be a situation like Universal with Hulk and Namor?

And what about Gotham? I guess Disney own that as well? But is that based on Batman 66 rights? How can they use all these Batman characters?

What could Disney even get in return for these rights from WB? It's not like WB really own anything Marvel at all. It would've been different if they had Spider-Man instead of Sony, or they had Hulk and Namor. A Batman for Spider-Man swap would've seemed like an even trade.

Tommorow on the 29th of March the Dark Phoenix cast will come to Wondercon and obviously the subject of the Disney-Fox deal and it’s inplications on the current franchise will inevitably come up.

And here’s some scoopers giving out troll questions.

:funny:

They’re so cruel.

:lmao:

Is there somewhere I can watch this Wondercon thing like a YouTube livestream or something?

I want to experience all of their discomfort.... :hehe:

WB owns the distribution to Star Wars Clone Wars movie IIRC. They own the cable rights to distribute the 10 SW movies. They also own the exclusive streaming rights to the first 6 SW movies until 2024 and non exclusive to the other 4.

Yes and? Doesn’t mean she sees herself as black . She took her light skin and made it look like she should be Storm other than a dark skin woman because she feels she deserves the roll more. She deserves the hate the way she talked down on other black women and acted all high and mighty. Just cause the world identifies her as black doesn’t mean she indetifies as black.

I hate how they messed up peters cast . Why couldn’t they just make them diverse instead of just making most of them unrecognizable
