Yes and? Doesn’t mean she sees herself as black . She took her light skin and made it look like she should be Storm other than a dark skin woman because she feels she deserves the roll more. She deserves the hate the way she talked down on other black women and acted all high and mighty. Just cause the world identifies her as black doesn’t mean she indetifies as black.
She does in fact see herself as black

And nobody has any right to tell her that she's not a real black woman. Again, her comments are in self-defense. She feels like she deserves her bag because... She earned it fair and square? She had to fight for her role through hundreds of different actresses. What's wrong with her being proud that she nabbed the role? She never said a dark-skinned actress doesn't deserve the role, she only threw shade at Kiki because she indirectly attacked by her comments & i don't blame her, honestly. Shes a bit bitter about this whole situation but honestly, after being dragged so many damn times, anybody would be. This is the comment that got everybody riled up but the hate was directed towards her, first.

She's being disrespectful? Tell that to the hundreds of people tagging her saying she's not dark or real enough to play Storm despite the fact that Storm has been interpreted hundreds of different ways. Are people forgetting that the most popular, iconic version of Storm looked like this?

Vanessa Williams or Tyra Banks could have played Storm and it would have been not only accurate to TAS' interpretation but it would have also been accurate to the comics where Storm is basically a "white woman dipped in chocolate" as some say

I don't like doing this but it's getting on my nerves how people are being purposefully intellectually dishonest about what Storm looks like HALF of the time.

As the black community, we need to do A LOT better. And yes, colorism is a huge problem but we should not be turning on our own brothers and sisters. That's not how we fix this issue

I hate how they messed up peters cast . Why couldn’t they just make them diverse instead of just making most of them unrecognizable

I personally found the reimagining of the Flash Thompson character rather refreshing. Having grown up in the 80's the psychopathic, bullying, white male jock villian was in literally in every 80's high school movie, and the traditional Flash Thompson was in both previous iterations of Spider-Man. Plus physically bullying someone at a public school today would likely get you expelled. Bullies have changed with the times, and I'm happy that Spider-Man: Homecoming reflected that.

I think my main issue with Flash in Homecoming is that he posed no obstacle to Peter. A modern preppy, rich kid interpretation of Flash could have worked -- if they illustrated the social power and privilege that Flash has over Peter. The school/students love him but hate Peter. They could have been two sides of the same coin.. Instead we have a Flash who nobody in the school likes that is merely a nuisance to Peter. He's like a fly buzzing around his head that he can easily swat away.

Peter's life overall in Homecoming wasn't as difficult as It should have been. I'm hoping they up the ante in FFH

Tommorow on the 29th of March the Dark Phoenix cast will come to Wondercon and obviously the subject of the Disney-Fox deal and it’s inplications on the current franchise will inevitably come up.

And here’s some scoopers giving out troll questions.

:funny:

They’re so cruel.
Are you sure they were not being serious? I've seen some people on twitter hoping marvel uses the same actors.

There definitely not serious considering they’re not fans of the current Fox-Men cast.

Both of these scoopers have been saying Dark Phoenix stinks for awhile based on the information they’ve received from the apparently poor test screenings.

And me being familiar with them both of them I know they both don’t actually want this cast to reprise they’re roles for the MCU.

So yeah they are just being jerks.

I'm glad marvel will be recasting, Shipp can continue being bitter for all I care. I kind of feel for her a bit because black twitter is coming for her when the part gets recasted. I already saw someone tweet her when the deal was finalized weeks ago (has it been up to 2 weeks?). I hope Kiki gets it, but I'll be down for anyone Marvel gets as far as she's a good actress and looks the part.

What is Black Twitter? Is that an actual separate social media platform to Twitter? If so, why the segregation? And how can they verify who is actually black if anyone just signs up to it?

:funny:
Its not separate. Its the term some use for black twitter users, especially when talking about issues that affect black people.

I see. Thanks for the clarification. I was starting to wonder if there were also other separate things out there like Black Facebook, Black Instagram, Black YouTube, Black Pinterest etc. It would really start to beg the question why they needed separate platforms when they want to feel included in other things, and what they can't do on just the regular versions of these.

They definitely deserve a break, but hopefully they are back one day.

Sounds like they are literally saying if Marvel gave them more opportunities under the right circumstances they'd be happy to come back immediately.

I think in that case my advice to Marvel would be to....give them more opportunities under the right circumstances!

These right circumstances can be as different characters. Why does Shipp still have to be Storm in the MCU? What if Marvel want an older Storm now? Or if they don't want the whole Fox continuity imposed upon them? Why should Marvel have to accept the Fox continuity just because these people were playing them before.

It's not like they were actual Fox employees who were working within the company, and Disney had to find them similar roles or extend their original roles under the new acquisition. Indeed, many Fox employees were let go. The Fox X-Men cast can simply look at it as if they were let go as well. Only Deadpool got to stay on.

Wait, I thought we were talking about the Russos coming back. Ignore me if not.

I don't know what we're talking about! Ignore me if we're talking about different things. I thought we were talking about Black Twitter originally anyway!

Why can't Disney give a definitive answer about New Mutants? What's the harm in saying right now that they're just going to stick it on Disney +?

Why would they bother wasting more money on reshoots now anyway?

You don’t seem to get it and I understand. I’m not gonna drag the thread down with race but you are missing the point. Your saying she deserves the role but she doesn’t . Colorism was definitely in play when she got the role and if you can’t see that well then I’m sorry. Also those gifs you posted don’t even come close to ship

This is true but that doesn’t mean its good. This flash looks like you could beat him up without using any strength. He’s more of an internet nerd who bullies online and quiet in real life.

If no-one likes this Flash, then he's just an annoying troll. Why should Peter even care what he thinks or what he says online if Flash doesn't have the backing of others to influence them? Why would others even believe what he says?

Even if Flash weren't a physical bully and jock, he was still the most popular kid in the class or school and girls wanted to be with him. He also had social influence and his words carried weight with others.

Revelori's Flash seems like the least popular kid in the school. How can this Flash even realistically bully Peter even psychologically if no-one is supporting him? There's an old proverb which says "He who thinks he is leading when no-one is following is only taking a walk". That's exactly what it's like with Revelori's Flash. Who is actually following him when no-one seems to like him? He's walking alone. At least comic Flash had followers.

Even Peter seems more popular than him. In fact, compared to any of the other kids at this school and how nerdy they look, Peter looks like the coolest and most traditionally Flash like. He should be the one getting all the girls.

When Peter looks like the coolest kid in a school full of nerds, then there's something wrong with that.

This Flash is just a pest, not a major influencer of others. He's like the kid no-one liked whom everyone beat up - even the girls.

I want this to crash and burn as much as the next person but Superhero movies have been bulletproof lately. I think the box office might surprise people.
