Can you post those leaked documents here? I’m quite curious to see them.

Aww dude, that was when wikileaks came out and I might be off with those numbers. A simple google search should suffice. That was when I read the actual 2004 and 2011 amended contracts as well. I posted a thread here on those contracts that you can read if you search threads started by me.

Be aware that Amy Pascal is dyslexic and reading her emails is like reading a google translated document from 5 years ago.

Maybe someone could clarify but I'm sure I remember reading some where that Sony and Marvel would sit down again in 2020 to discuss Marvel getting the rights back or something about Marvel getting the rights back in 2020.

The deal either expires at the end of FFH or another Spidey standalone movie after that. Circa 2016 Feige said it was 5 movies and Holland said it was 6. I believe Feige more than Holland. It could simply be that Holland is contracted by Marvel with a non compete for 6 movies, but the Marvel - Sony deal is for 5 movie. That's an easy, legal way to keep Sony from being shady and taking Holland to their universe as a different character (as Spider-man Holland is probably off limits). This is something the UFC is famous for doing to keep fighters from going to competing organizations.

If Feige was correct and the deal was for 5 movies then Disney and Sony will have to sit down and reach a deal in 2019.

Or... yunno... just buy the Sony film division outright.

So for the 6th movie on Hollands contract. Marvel could use him in say Dr Strange 2 but if they want Holland in Homecoming 3 in the MCU they would have to renegotiate with Sony?

Critics are destroying Venom.

Metacritic; 27

Venom

On RT is says 25% on the side column, but when you look it up specifically it says "Tomatometer not available".

Does a turd actually roll down the street in the wind? I need a mythbusters episode on this one.

We haven't seen the contract. I am not sure. That was speculation on my part.

Not surprising. Rotten Tomatoes is still 'stabilizing' but I guess it'll end up at something like 35%. It's currently at 29%.

Critics Consensus: Venom's first standalone movie turns out to be like the comics character in all the wrong ways - chaotic, noisy, and in desperate need of a stronger attachment to Spider-Man.

Welp!

Better luck with Morbius or (heaven forbid) the Aunt May movie.

Anyone think we might get a release date for Homecoming 3 in December?

So this is where the Sony **** verse dies like a turd in the wind.hopefully this means we will get Spider-Man's full rights home soon, and hopefully Marvel cuts all dealings with Sony afterwards and just deals with Spider-Man themselves. Games, movies, animated series(needs a reboot), animated movies, and so on and so forth.

LOL! I'm loving the negative reviews for Venom! I guess Sony is someone who keeps falling into the same manhole but refused to learn from the experience. Venom without Spider-Man is definitely NOT Venom, and perhaps after this movie tanks commercially as well as critically Sony will finally take a hint.

Yeah right.

Why would they cut out dealing with Sony for games? That's where Sony are actual rock stars. They just released a great Spider-Man game in partnership with Sony Interactive and Insomniac. Even the Sony produced Spectacular Spider-Man animated series destroys anything Marvel Animation has done under Disney aside from EMH. Marvel Studios is in a great place, but the Animation department is lousy right now and the TV division is like any other aside from HBO or FX, some great shows, some Good/OK shows, some bad shows.

Because for games all that Marvel needs is Disney and Insomniac and if Marvel is making a Marvel Games Universe Disney should push and monetize it. animation just get better writers like the one's from EMH.
