Though how can they even remove him? Can Disney just buy his stock back by force or something?
With the FOX merger his role can be reduced. Put Marvel Television and Animation under Feige or ABC Studios and all he’s got is comics. Marvel Studios been cut ties.

Well, now we play the waiting game. For those not in the know: Erik Olsen is the showrunner for season 3 of Daredevil.

Russos are holding a special Infinity War screening on the 28th and are doing a q&a with Collider.Avengers 4 Trailer incoming. lines up with the infinity war trailer last November.

Any reason to dump him is a good one. The TV/Netflix side could be in a better place now without his involvement.

The trailer I’m hoping will be minimalistic. You’re not going to see much but you’ll see enough to wet your appetite.

If you go back and rewatch the 1st Infinity War trailer they actually don't give a lot away through clever editing and misdirects. You only catch glimpses of some of the big set pieces. Titan and Wakanda.

I want to ask if people here would be fine with losing Spider-Man to Sony on the heels of Venom success, but gaining the X-Men/F4 back because of the Disney/Fox purchase. Personally I am fine with that.

I’m also fine with it. Having Spidey even for a little while has been great, but’s hope he stays around longer

In the New Mutants thread a user who allegedly works on these movies leaked that Namor is on the way.
He got some things right in the past but this time the casting he purports is really hard to believe, make of that what you want.

Hell no Sony should lose all the rights to Spidey Marvel Studios does him better.

I would love to see Namor, and yeah that guy got a lot of things right.

Sony ain't selling those rights. Not after Venom is going to cruise past 800 mil.

I'd rather give up the X-men than have Spidey out of MCU control. I actually dislike a lot of things the MCU has done with Spider-Man, but I recognize that Marvel Studios has a better chance to make a good movie than Sony.

Fox actually did a lot of good things with the X-men, so I don't mind if they were to continue putting out mutant movies. The only thing I'd be bummed about is no Dr. Doom in the MCU.

All that being said, the X-men/FF IP is way more important to Marvel Studios than Spider-Man from a longevity perspective.

A year ago, I wouldn't have even hesitated - if given a choice, of having FF and all related characters come back, but with Spidey going back to Sony (I don't even need X-Men to sweeten the deal).

And IF Sony had a good solid plan of building a Spider-Man universe, I would be intrigued by that.

The problem for me is how they're going about it, and I currently have no faith in the people at Sony putting all this together. As with the FF when they were at Fox, at this moment, I'd rather have seen Spidey go dormant for the next 10 years or more than have what it seems we're going to be getting from Sony - a Cynical effort to milk the value from the characters rather than making films that the characters really deserve.

From a 30,000 point view, I'm thrilled we're getting FF (and X-Men) and I really shouldn't worry about Spidey, but now that he is the biggest property still in jeopardy, that's the logical focus of all of us who want everything.

Quite frankly, and while I love the whole Spidey mythos, as long as we have the mutants back and can finally get REAL stories for them made by Marvel, I can do without MCU Spidey.

I said it before, there’s but so many times we can see Gwen Stacy fall and bust her neck, but so many times we can see Norman Osborn spaz out and become Green Goblin.

I’m ready for a fresh take on the mutants and the Fantastic 4.
