The Doom movie could still happen. Infinity War could almost be seen as a test run for it. It was basically a Thanos movie featuring the Avengers who were the "bad" guys. A Doom movie with the Avengers as the "bad" guys could be interesting.

Is every marvel character that’s not a lead getting their own limited tv series? This one I think may water down Guardians 3

We could be looking at a new roster for GotG 3. You just never know.

Yes I can see Gamorra and Drax not returning, not Rocket and Groot. It’s wouldnt be the Guardians anymore

Yeah rocket and groot are likely locks for the next movie. I feel like a new team would be kinda cool though. I'd love for beta ray bill to be on the team.

Semi off topic but I can't possibly reccomend going to see the Marvel exhibit at MoPop in Seattle enough. If any of you are are the Seattle area in the next few months(I think the Marvel exhibit is there through February) make it a priority. One of the cooler things to do is that you can take a pic with The Thing :)

TBH we don't know if Marvel will really proceed with GOTG3, because the firing of James Gunn will be a very sensitive issue as the cast is very loyal to Gunn. Maybe not all of them are like Dave Bautista but I'm sure they won't like to make a movie without him. They won't risk breaching their contract, of course, but I doubt Feige will want an environment where the cast is disgruntled, either. I just hope that Bradley Cooper & Vin Diesel will reprise their VO role in the Disney+ series, because it would suck to recast them.

I known all the major hurdles have been cleared, but I feel like there will be another newsworthy story on a place approving the Disney Fox deal, if they put remedies on it like for example Brazil.

Things look like gotg is happening, already rumors of bumblebee director being looked at by marvel.

I wouldn't expect Rocket and Groot to leave GOTG just because they get a series. I'd sort of expect the series to tell the story of Rocket and Groot prior to Guardians.

But I'm also a little skeptical, because it would seem a particularly costly option with two CGI main-characters and an alien setting that would require exotic sets, props, costumes, make-up etc.

... but maybe they feel technology is reaching the point they can do CGI characters and sets convincingly on a smaller budget.

Yeah, I expect it to be about how Rocket and Groot met.

Yeah both rocket and groot are all CG all the time. Seems very costly. But who knows maybe itll work.

R&G could end up being a full CGI series, with less photorealistic versions of the two characters. Something along the lines of the Rebels or Resistance on Disney XD.

I'd prefer live action.

I remember years ago reading about how CGI would free up independent film-makers to make whatever they want. Instead of building physical sets, they'll be able to film a couple actors in front of a green screen and put them in whatever environment they like. And, in theory, there should be a point at which those digital sets are less expensive than physical sets.

I don't know if technology is to the point it's less expensive than more traditional methods, but for a company like Disney and Marvel for whom digital sets and characters are becoming more common and they have a lot of models already built in their computers, they may be getting to the point they can do a lot with relatively limited budgets.

Remember they already have the assets for rocket and groot. So its not like they need to build them from the ground up.

Exactly. I don't know if it's as simple as having an actor walk around in a mo-cap suit and having the computer replace him with a digital "puppet", but it must be getting close.

Sort of excited for Venom 2. I liked Venom, and I am not ashamed of that. Plus, Carnage...played by Woody Harrellson? Sign me up

I think placing Morbius likely into July is odd. That is heart of the Summer, and I don't see this competing with bigger movies. Whether that is a bad move or not I think depends on the budget. Morbius won't make Venom money.

At the very least, it is now a slightly risky proposition, which it wouldn’t have been under Gunn.
