FOX released a new poster for Dark Phoenix in Brazil.

Call me negative, stupid, bitter, say I'm jumping to conclusions... but I hate so much that they're turning Dark Phoenix into a stage for Charles and Eric to butt heads again. Sorry, but that's the kind of thing that makes me want this movie to be shoved into a streaming service or something like that.

They're using Dark Phoenix as a vehicle to tell another story where Charles and Erik have an ideological struggle. It's just tired at this point. I don't want this movie to come out

That's not the Dark Phoenix. The Dark Phoenix has aliens and the Hellfire Club.

That's just Sansa Stark covered in CGI fire.

I usually don't agree with the GG noms, but they don't always look the same. This year literally the majority of the nominees are new shows like Barry, Pose, Homecoming, Killing Eve, Kidding, Bodyguard and others. The Americans is probably the only "old show" there, but deserves every nomination.

I'm happy for both Black Panther and Into the Spider-verse. And I genuinely hope Into the Spiderverse opens the door for many other (great) comicbook animated movies.

I'll give you that. But aside from that, it feels like it is always the same nominees: Keri Russell, Regina King, Mrs. Maisel blah blah.

- Some insidious, nigh-unstoppable threat appears.
- Xavier and Magneto unite, trying to set aside their differences.
- Xavier, Magneto, Wolverine, or Mystique takes center stage; everyone else is basically set decorations.
- Magneto shockingly betrays Xavier.
- "Goodbye, old friend."

For almost twenty ******* years.

Seriously, they have a world of characters and stories to pick from, and they're adapting this story again with Charles and Eric with their shenanigans upfront again. It's infuriating.

That makes me wish this movie bombs harder than Fant4stic. Hopefully the light at the end of the tunnel is right here.

I am sure Marvel will do it. Just won't be one of the first things they do.

It just pisses me off because you can tell that the FOX executives, Kinberg and Singer just googled a bunch of mutants, found out what their powers were, and just threw them in a story.

Source material be damned.

Most of them are chosen for power display only. Look at the mutants in the future timeline in DoFP. Or look at Warren and Betsy in Apocalypse.

And unfortunatelly it has been the same thing for Storm, who's one of the biggest female superheroes ever. Look at her role in DoFP and Apocalypse. She's a token for diversity and used for power display to show in the trailers.

I'm not so sure about that. The movie bombing would suggest damage to the brand, which obviously wouldn't be good for the MCU. We will see the light at the end of the tunnel whether it bombs or not.

I still wanna know what Halle's pay day was like for DoFP. She literally only said:

"Bobby!"
"No, but we can slow them down."

and of course:

After Nakia, Okoye and Shuri, MCU Storm has to be done right.

One of the reasons I want to see Storm introduced in a Black Panther movie, where her african origin can be properly respected and beautifully portrayed. And Coogler handled female characters very well.

(And no, I'm not saying introducing Storm as a love interest)

They better cast a dark skinned actress as storm or black twitter will be pissed. lol

LOL. These people underestimate the influence/power of Black Twitter. That's a major reason why Black Panther made it to that billion dollar mark.

Feige messes around and gets the casting/storyline right for Ororo and he really will be one of the greatest film producers to ever live lol.

No doubt black twitter hyped BP up so much that everyone wanted to see it. Black twitter was the best and cheapest advertisement Bp had. If they get the casting of Storm right the hype for the first MCU xmen movie will be high.

I hope Marvel does do Dark Phoenix again. But it's properly built up for more than 1 film (XMA> Dark Phoenix). It will be awhile before they do it again, so I'm thinking around 2029-2030. 9-10 years after the X-Men's debut; 9-10 years of anticipation and character development for these characters. It could be the next Infinity War-level event.

I am thinking if they do some sort of cosmic event many years down the road, they can introduce the Phoenix then. I'd have her as non-evil Phoenix for a few movies before doing the Dark Phoenix angle again.

I agree. It's incredibly stale. I used to be a big, big Fox-Men defender but that is no longer the case. The X-Men need and deserve, a fresh start.

That's what I was thinking.

Could be a stand-in for Spidey acquiring the Symbiote in the Secret Wars adaptation. Jean should totally just be a Phoenix-powered Jean for a couple of movies. We could have glimpses into just how immensely powerful the Phoenix truly is i.e Jean literally pulling the back together within the M'Kraan crystal
