I think whether we get something or not is all about what Feige wants to reveal and when he wants to reveal it. The deal will be closed very shortly and Feige knows it will be closed very shortly, so Feige's choice - rather than the closing date - is the real determining factor.
I’m just so looking forward to the closing date as then Feige and anyone else involved in the MCU can speak with much more freedom about a range of topics which they can’t yet bring up.

Exactly! As much as I want to see Doom/Latveria in EndGame/Far From Home, a mere mention of Latveria or perhaps some news report confirming a takeover of the nation from "Victor Von Doom" would be enough to have me have a permanent smile on my face LOL
Haha. Well I think you certainly deserve that. Let’s get it done! :D:

He needs to go on "I'm a hack, get me out of here" with Simon Kinberg, Scott Buck and all the others in that jungle. :o
I wonder who would win. This could be an all-star version.

So, if the deal closes, would they take the joke of having anyone spoiling the movie on the crew...

having Reynolds in full DP costume show up saying : "Mr. F bought a gold card with your name on it."

But who would even be a good antagonist for a Gambit solo anything? Belladonna? The Xternals?

I just don't see it. He works better in a team.

Gambit should be a Disney+ show, not a movie. In fact, a Rogue/Gambit series would be a great idea. Those two have so much history to explore, and a limited series would be the perfect format for that.
I’d love to see that. It could start with their origins before they eventually meet up.

Down the line a Rogue/Gambit, Mr & Mrs X series would be great. But I think both would benefit from being in the ensemble MCU movies first. Deep down, I really hope we get a X-Men Blue movie and then a X-Men Gold movie.

But that's the 90s baby in me talking.
I think that is the dream of many X-Men fans. But having a bunch of miniseries (and cameos in other MCU films in advance of the big team films would make things much easier to setup and create much more hype.

I hope Disney doesnt relegate X-Men just to Disney+ I still want X-Men movies. And I hope Feige is involved in this decision to seemingly move one marvels biggest IPs to the small screen. I hope Disney isn't mandating too much.

X-Men movies are definitely still happening. Too much financial potential not to. The miniseries will just be a big bonus on top.

That definitely won't happen. It's just there are SO many mutants that not just everyone can make the movie cut, but atleast they'll get the shine on Disney+

Gambit and Rogue is one of the most popular comic couples, and they are movie material.

If f**** Antman and Wasp got their movie, Rogue and Gambit must get theirs too.
no shade to antman and wasp, I like them, but you all get my point.

a Gambit mini-series is fine, but both have a huge movie potential ww.
I don’t think the suggestion was to exclude Gambit and Rogue from films. Just to introduce them in a miniseries before they are introduced in the films. That way they get a lot of time to develop even before their big screen debut.

It feels like a purely positive thing for me. It is giving the non-core Avengers much more exposure than they otherwise would have, and it can work the same way for the X men who don’t get as much screen time.

It just worries me a little when you hear that Wolverine might be getting sidelined to a Disney+ series. I know people are tired of him but hes still a major piece of the X-Men and should be part of the movies.

Nah, very unlikely they’ll relegate the X-Men to just the streaming service. They’ll definitely be MCU X-Men movies down the line as the Mutants are too darn profitable for the movies to be given such a treatment.

The FF, on the other hand, I’m not so sure. I think there’s a good chance Feige might make it a streaming show instead of a movie. Unlike the X-Men, FF is not nearly as lucrative especially after the brand-damaging films.

Definitely agree that Gambit works best in a team where he can bounce off of the other X-Men. But I wouldn't mind him and Rogue (after being introduced in the movies) getting their own show. As for the villains maybe Antoinelle Arcenaux or the Assassin's Guild

No joke Disney should bring back Taylor Kitsch. They owe him one after John Carter. And I didn't think he was that bad as Gambit tbh.

The highest-grossing movie of the year is a superhero movie :hehe:.

End Game will probably end up the highest grossing film of 2019.

Let’s remember to take these rumors with a grain of salt. Marvel doesn’t have these rights just yet. I’m sure there have been at least been some discussions internally about what could be done with the Mutants for the streaming service but I don’t see Feige sidelining the franchise’s most popular character to just the streaming service. This isn’t Iron Fist we’re talking about here. I’m sure after the MCU introduces its own version of Wolverine they might consider giving the character a mini-series spin-off that might explore his origins further(whether that’s on Hulu or Disney Plus is anyone’s guess).

I don’t get how personal relationships/politics can get you films when there are guys out there who can make a film that much better. I do agree on DP though. It’s win-win. I have every reason to want it to be great, and still get to enjoy MCU X-Men after.

The film industry is like most others. Untalented people can fail upwards (or vertically) for decades if they know how to shmooze and BS their way into the good graces of those with money and power. Good people skills can outweigh the complete absence of ability in other areas. Kinberg isn't alone in oozing his way up the ladder like this.

In contrast, many incredibly talented people aren't able to ingratiate themselves with executives, which holds them back or even ruins their careers. How many brilliant filmmakers have constant run-ins with studio execs who seem bent on interfering with their work? And this happens in other fields, too, of course.

I don't see this happening either. The Fantastic Four are wayyy too big to be relegated to a show on their streaming service. I don't even think the budget is there for it. A proper F4 movie should be larger than life. They have never been utilized properly on film and I don't see Feige dismissing their potential to a streaming show instead of giving them the same treatment as the Avengers.

If Marvel can make Guardians of the Galaxy a household name, they sure as hell can do it for Marvel's first family.

Even if Wolverine does have a Disney+ special, it's probably to save us the time of YET ANOTHER origin film after we already got the whole FOXverse dedicated to him. I'm not opposed to that, personally.

Time for some new mutant blood.

If they introduce him in the movies then he spins off into his own series I guess that could work but starting with a Disney+ series then moving him into films would be tricky since not everyone will sub to Disney+.

And just in case any Disney execs are on here on the low, can one of you PLEASE suggest a Marvel vs Capcom 4?

And put the Human Torch in it so I can have him and Ken together for a fire Shoryu-reppa! Thanks!

True, but when it comes to film directors I think there is a big difference as their work has so much visibility and they take most of the credit/blame for it. It wouldn’t even be worth it to a close relative to employ a film director not worth their salt on a major project. Any other less visible and less accountable role, sure. I’ve unfortunately seen plenty of this kind of thing happen in my industry but the one area where someone couldn’t employ their best mate for eg is for a role where someone visibly speaks on behalf of the company. I think it’s similar here.
