He does. He started in Shameless, and he's now in the main cast of the HBO adaptation of Golden Compass, which has already been renewed for a second season.

...Or more likely Legion takes place outside of the continuity of the Fox X-Men Universe so this is merely a different version of the same character therefore requiring another actor to signify this is a new take. Besides its not unprecedented to have two different live-action adaptions of the same iconic character co-exist at the same time in different mediums. For example; Brandon Routh played one version of Superman in a movie around the same time Tom Welling was playing a different version of the same character in a televison show. So it can happen.

Obviously Wolverine will be recast for the MCU but there’s a delusional portion of the fanbase who thinks Hugh Jackman will be in Endgame so I posted the link to the article with Donners comments that will hopefully be the final nail in the coffin for the crazy rumors that Jackman will return as the character in Endgame. It’s not happening, folks. The only who one who won’t be recast in the MCU is a certain Merc-With-The-Mouth.

If I had to guess, it’s because he’s the most popular of the X-Men and he had crossovers with non-X-Men Marvel characters in the Marvel universe more than any other member. Let’s not forget, unlike most of the members like Cyclops & Jean who debuted in a X-Men comic; Wolverine made his debut in a crossover with the Green Goliath himself. He’s also been an Avenger as well. So it makes sense that he’d be the first to be re-cast.

Yes, I hear what you're saying but since when has popularity ever been the guiding light for Marvel Studios' decisions? Look at what they did with Guardians and Ant-Man. Wolverine regardless of how popular he is -- is overexposed. Doesn't it make sense to let him cool off a bit before he starts dominating the franchise again?

Why not use Storm? She has connections to Marvel's biggest franchise that's not named Avengers. I'd rather her come first.

If Logan does show up before anybody else, I sincerely hope he sits the first X-Men movie out.

The first Iron Man movie happened first because Iron Man was the most popular toy tested with a focus group of kids and Hulk was also seen as another popular character hence why his movie was the second MCU movie made after Iron Man.

And while popularity hasn't always been the guiding light for Marvel Studios-- necessity most certainly has been. Let's not forget: Most of Marvel's A-list properties were at other studios at the time they began making films so there weren't that many popular characters to choose from. Heck, I would argue that until 2014; Marvel was mostly relying on their most popular characters they had access to like Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America and their popularity did impact the decision to use those characters first over their less popular characters. Sure, something like Iron Man wasn't exactly an A-list hero(he wasn't Spider-Man level) but he was still(along with a lot of the Avengers) the most popular character Marvel had access to at the time. Case in point: There's no way Marvel would've done a Guardians Of The Galaxy movie pre-Avengers. It's only after the immense success of Avengers that Marvel felt the brand was strong enough to branch out to more obscure properties.

Marvel is going to let the entire X-Men franchise cool off for a bit after Dark Phoenix & New Mutants hits theaters(if they ever do hit the big screen that is). The overexposure complaint largely stems from the X-Men films placing more of a focus on Wolverine instead of truly balancing the ensemble but I argue Iron Man is just as overexposed(if I'm not mistaken, he's actually appeared in more movies overall) but most people never complain that the Avengers films are too Iron Man centric like they did do with X-Men films in regards to Wolverine. Why is that? Because unlike Fox, Marvel knows how to balance the ensemble and make sure that every member of the team gets a shining moment that exemplifies the best of their characters. The solution to this problem doesn't come with omitting the Wolverine character entirely but actually placing less of a focus on him; making him more of a supporting character than a main character like he was in most of the Fox films. Wolverine can easily appear in the first X-Men film and not overshadow the other team members. All you have to do is make characters like Cyclops stand out more. Its that simple.

I'm not opposed to it but I'd rather Storm debut in an X-Men film. I feel that Wolverine makes the most sense to appear since he's one of the oldest mutants around; has had a longer history of crossing over with other characters in the comics and I think pairing him up with other Marvel characters like Spider-Man and Hulk would be infinitely more interesting than seeing Storm in Black Panther interacting with Shuri and T'Challa.

If Logan does show up before anybody else, I sincerely hope he sits the first X-Men movie out.

Just wait for a few more years before choosing the next Logan. It took us more than 8 years for us to be comfortable with a new take on the Joker after Ledger’s. Just wait until 2025 for a new Wolverine. Time will fly by. Trust me.

I think it's her regional accent, not just that she's American. She sounds immature, like a young girl at times. I also think she has a bit of a slight frame which makes it look awkward. I think they should have looked to someone a bit bigger and older.

Yes I saw him in Shameless. A lot of actors have successfully graduated from that show. I didn’t know anything about this TV Golden Compass adaptation though. Is it good?

But most weren’t comfortable with the new Joker even after all that time (and the new Solo even after a generation had passed). I’m sure it’s more about quality than the length of time between different versions. New guys can have different strengths and weaknesses and if they are given the opportunity to put a stamp on the character then the time won’t be a factor IMO. If you’re talking about audiences doing well with a break from the character to keep things fresh, then I’d agree with that.
