I think they're still shooting the first season (or yet to start shooting). But it's already been renewed for a second season, which indicates at least they really trust this show to succeed.

Besides McAvoy, there's also Ruth Wilson and Dafne Keen in the cast.
Oh right, thanks for that. I’ll definitely check that out.

This may be a rather unpopular opinion but I’m in favor of the film being released. Just get this embarrassment over with already.

Was always gonna have a theatrical release

They have to at least try to break even with it. It won’t, but from a pure business standpoint they gotta at least try.

So according to Lauren Shuler Donner, Channing Tatum’s Gambit is on hold until the merger is complete. This is good news for Gambit, I think it has a better chance with Disney. Fox never knew how to handle the Gambit character. But I don’t think it will be a solo movie,at least not from the start.
They might try integrating him with the MCU or with Deadpool, then a solo movie later.

well to say that was a disappointing earnings call is an understatement. At this point I question whether or not well be given any prior notice when the deal closes. I guess it will close when it closes.

So... no closing announcement again- just that Disney will get started on the Fox properties as soon as possible. However, I think that we will know ahead of time- I think it's simply bad business to do otherwise.

When is the next opportunity for a scheduled announcement of the closing date? April 11th with the Disney+ demo?

yea the April shareholder meeting would be the next place to announce it. Thats if it doesnt close by the end of March.

it will sting a bit if Brazil decides to drag out its review for another 90 days after March 18th which means no teases during the captain marvel or end game press tours.

Really good discussion about the future of the X-Men on film. I’d recommend folks here watch even if you’re not the biggest Colider fan.

What exactly were people hoping for, today? Did I miss something?

Let’s get some X-Men we haven’t seen on the big screen

I know I shouldn't be too worried, but the fact that the deal is still months away from receiving complete approval really irks me.

They did the same thing to secure China approval. Last month they announced an expansion on Disney shanghai. Brazil approval is all but guaranteed in March now.

Well, unless Brazil want something else.

Not really anything to worry about now mate. The deals will all get done. It was different when we had to genuinely worry about Comcast who could easily have taken it all away.
