I love how y’all just spent the last 3 pages going back and forth about the use of Marvel Girl lol. I for one am against Jean Grey being called ‘Phoenix’ right off the bat in the MCU. When they do decide to do MCU Dark Phoenix, let the Phoenix be its own entity and let us finally see a big ass talking firebird please.

And I think it’s interesting how Iger said they spent the last year focusing on integration plans with the FOX assets.

Aside from business, me thinks that includes Feige’s mutant and 4 ideas.

Carol's going to put a 'Squirrel Girl' style beat down on The Mad Titan within the first half hour, leaving the remaining 2 hours or so for MCU style quippery and other such shenanigans.

Eh, I'm less than enthusiastic about the "save us Captain Marvel" element. It feels like flirting with the Superman Syndrome that Marvel would really be best to avoid.

Good thing this acquisition happened, now Marvel doesn't have to box itself into the Carol Danvers corner.

They have a whole cavalcade of characters to cherry pick from now.

Nothing about that clip really says "Save us, Captain Marvel!" to me, tbh.

Its the "you have me" quote. It frames why they stand a chance as, not because you have a better plan, or because of years of preparation, or some new insight into the enemy or situation. . . but because you have. . . one extra hero. It is not a good look, since even if its not truly accurate to the situation, it paints Carol Danvers as suffering from the kind of hubris problem that Thor had, at the *beginning* of his first movie.

I'm hoping the way it works out is Carol is one piece of a larger puzzle that strange saw in the one outcome where they win not that Carol is the key or because of her strength it should be a team effort.

It's almost certainly not going to work out as simply as "The heroes fight Thanos again, but this time they win because Captain Marvel is there." Especially since by now it seems very likely there's going to be time travel and other concepts involved in the film.

See that's the idea a lot of people aren't a fan of.

I know. Hence why I used it as an example of what is probably not going to actually happen. The situation is going to take more than another slugfest to resolve.

This seems to be early in the film, I think they go after Thanos and get their asses beat at that world he is on. Carol being cocky is setup for Thanos beating the crap out of her.

Cap still has a beard in the post credit scene. We see him crying without his beard at the compound, and again without it at the support group.

The bit about the post-credits scene is a spoiler for those, like me, who haven't seen Captain Marvel yet. Please tag even things that seem like minor spoilers out of courtesy to those who don't want to be spoiled. Please and thank you. :-)

I hope that didn't come across as harsh. The film has only been out for a day in the US, so many haven't had the chance to go see it yet.[/QUOTE]

That’s how it works in team sports. No player is going to beat the opposition by themself but top individual players can make the difference between winning and losing in a tight game (and tight scenarios like the Avengers are facing). If CM joined but Thor dropped out they would likely still be losing.

I can't wait for the day when the X-Men and Fantastic Four are dropping 100+ million OWs like Captain Marvel is currently doing.
Yes, and hopefully a lot more than $100m.

That's just Captain Marvel being Captain Marvel.

So.... odds are one what day this next week The Deal seals?
Monday: 30:1, figure they won't play the markets, unless after close for the announcement.
Tuesday: 45:1, figure we get that trailer that day for A4.
Wednesday: 20:1 Midweek is rougher to avoid massive moves on the market.
Thor'sday: Naw,Thor owns that. A gazillion to one there.
Friday, after the bell: 5:7.... ?

Got a bit nosy and had a read of Disney's 2018 annual report I think we knew most of this right?

Prior to the Company’s acquisition of Marvel in fiscal year 2010, Marvel had licensed the rights to third-party studios to produce and distribute feature films based on certain Marvel properties including Spider-Man (licensed to Sony Pictures Entertainment), The Fantastic Four (licensed to 21CF) and X-Men (licensed to 21CF). Under the licensing arrangements, the third-party studios incur the costs to produce and distribute the films, and the Company retains the merchandise licensing rights. Under the licensing arrangement for Spider-Man, the Company pays the third-party studio a licensing fee based on each film’s box office receipts, subject to specified limits. Under the licensing arrangements for The Fantastic Four and X-Men, the third-party studio pays the Company a licensing fee and receives a share of the Company’s merchandise revenue on these properties. The Company distributes all Marvel-produced films with the exception of The Incredible Hulk, which is distributed by Universal Pictures.

From what ive been told they have to own Fox before the exchange offers can commence which means the deal has to close before the 15th. So basically sometime between Monday-Thursday.

XMen will be the kings of the world in some years.
Fox and Kinberg were unable to achieve that, poor selfs. But we dont need to worry, the world will love the X-men like never before the next decade.

Now that Fox will be owned by Disney I’m curious if Trank will ever be open to speaking out on his surely difficult experience working on Fan4stic. If I recall, he was on Kevin Smith’s Fatman On Batman podcast and it supposed to be a four part podcast interview but it was only three parts because Fan4stic happened before they could do the fourth one and the rest is history. I wonder once Trank's career is rehabilated with that Al Capone movie he's doing with Tom mumbling-extroadinare Hardy himself starring, will he ever return to do part 4?
