Wasn't expecting the trailer to April based on the rumors. I have a feeling Captain Marvel's huge opening perhaps pushed the trailer forward. But the timing lines up with the second Infinity War trailer. So we shouldnt be surprised.

Carol would be much better than Ironman. At least to me
that, or Wanda.

Am I the only one that finds it weird that all of these guys who worked on the soon-to-be scrapped Fox projects, are now breaking silence and telling everybody what their movie was going to be? First it was Noah Hawley and now Rupert Wyatt. I'm expecting Bendis and Tim Miller to tell the world what their version of Kitty Pryde would have been tomorrow.

It's almost like they're all indirectly letting Feige know or they're getting nervous

Wasn't it supposed to cover Kitty fighting the N'Gari Demon on Christmas Eve? It could be re-purposed as a Disney+ MCU holiday special.

But that Gambit 70s idea was the silliest thing I've heard.

Most likely the projects have quietly been scrapped behind the scenes. So now they figure what the heck may as well talk about what could have been.

We need Josh Trank to tell us about the fant4stic movie he was going to make that we'll never see now.

I agree with New Mutants ending up streaming. But Dark Phoenix has a rumored $200M budget and pricey actor contracts that may necessitate a theatrical release.

Even the craptastic Apocalypse grossed $544M WW, and my guess is Writer/Director/Producer's Dark Phoenix is a lock for $450M even if awful. I think the Mouse will ok a minimal promotional budget and try to break even on the final film in the Singerverse.
Exactly this. New Mutants could easily be dumped which is fine, but Dark Phoenix will be released in theaters. I don't think it'll make more than Apocalypse, but the X-Men movies have a audience and people will still go see it. $450-500M with over a $200M profit, or dump it on Hulu and lose money? What would you do after spending billions on Fox...

"It was supposed to be kind of like The Godfather, except with mutants and a heist"

So nothing like The Godfather, then.

It was the Godfather, because Disney made Fox an offer they couldn't refuse, and entertainment was going to be a big factor in drawing Gambit in casinos.

Probably would've been the usual dumpster fire Fox turns out, but props to Wyatt for apparently trying to be consistent with the character's age- unlike so many other examples in the Foxverse thanks to certain people.

Do you think well get a tweet from marvel on the 20th confirming the rights have reverted for xmen and Fantastic Four?

Maybe. I wouldn't be surprised if we got something on Marvel's website welcoming the X-Men and F4 back into the Marvel family.

Probably not. I could see Disney tweeting something about the deal though

more like "Welcome to the A-list, X-Men"

and "close the door when you leave, Simon" :funny: :funny: :funny: :funny: :funny: :funny: :funny:

We might get a tweet on the 20th from Kinberg saying how he's looking forward to starting production on the sequel to Dark Phoenix and how he hopes this new trilogy will be better than the last one.

He might think Fox still need to release an announcement on the same day Disney/Marvel do to keep up with the competition.

It would be cool for them to recognize the acquisition on social media, but I think the first time we’ll see them officially acknowledge it as a company is when they officially/formally announce plans for said characters

It would be really cool if Feige can tweet #Welcome Back Home First Family and Merry Mutants! on the day the deal closes.

But Feige, being the professional he always is, will most likely won't not do that; keeping his twitter feed completely silent on March 20th and beyond. Press for Endgame is when we'll get an official confirmation that they have rights when Feige says something along the lines of, "Yes we now have the rights and we're very excited to finally have access to almost all of our characters and we're thinking about it." But Feige will likely caution people that just because they have the rights that doesn't necessarily mean Marvel will all of sudden prioritize the Mutants and the First Family over the characters they currently have plans to make movies out of. So I expect Feige to give a general statement about how nice it is to have the characters all while tempering fans expectations about how soon will they do anything with those characters.
