The Rebooted "Keep Hope Alive" (that the rights can revert back to Marvel) Thread - Part 4

I have friends who are Disney fans and they've been complaining about this for the past several weeks. Apparently Disney World is now trying to nickel and dime every little thing and charging for things that used to be part of the package and giving people who are willing to pay preferential treatment.

I think it's a terrible idea. When you book a Disney World vacation, it should be inclusive so you can pay a big fee up-front and then not worry about decisions and expenses through the day. That's something that sets Disney World apart from other, more traditional vacations where you have to make decisions about paying $30 to go to the museum or maybe pay $20 to go to the zoo, etc.

I think this strategy is going to make Disney World a less attractive place to vacation than it used to be.

When Ike Perlmutter had Marvel Studios taken out from under his control many of us suspected the former Toy Biz owner would go quietly into that good night.

I wasn't one of them. Scrooge McDuck doesn't go out quietly.

The Inhumans movie pulled from schedule. The half glass filled is that it sure means Marvel is juggling different ideas for Phase 4, and a big maybe is that the Inhumans would be better introduced in a FF movie.

hopefully the inhumans news means that we'll get the X-Men and F4 in the MCU one day even though its a huge long shot

perlmutter wanted something to replace x-men and now that he's out, feige can mend the relationship.

I'm not offended at an Inhumans movie, but I'm not super-enthused. I wasn't super-enthused at the prospect of Guardians, either, but I did enjoy it. The Inhuman plots on Agents of SHIELD is okay; obviously it's nobody we recognize (or at least no one I recognize). I assume that the royal family are being reserved for the movie version.

Namor is still an important concept as yet unexploited. It's best to keep it under wraps until the ownership issue can be settled once and for all.

Spoiler! :D

You should remove that post. It has profanities in it.

Phase Four needs to start with Fantastic Four. The numbers are too perfect. 4th times the charm.

I don't care much about the Inhumans, especially if it means Marvel is finally getting their First Family back.

I don't have any idea who those people are. Is there any reason to think the person responding knows anything?

Have there been any credible FF rumors related to the Inhumans announcement?

Fantastic Four opening with the InHumans is a possibility. What is obvious is that Marvel realizes what their brand is. It's always going to be Iron Man, Spidey, Hulk, Avengers, and eventually the FF. These second tier characters can't really carry a phase alone. That's why FF is in prime position to open PIV. Plus Reed is a great substitute for Tony Stark.

I expect them to open summer 2020 with something FF related. Either 2020 or the following year. Fall 2019 might be a sequel or a carryover from PIII.

I'm a tad disappointed that the Inhumans were removed mainly because like Guardians it's a relatively unknown property that someone can have a lot of fun with. I wonder if they get the F4 rights back if they plan on Inhumans being the antagonists?

If anything this is good for SHIELD, now there is no restrictions story wise for the inhumans (I believe there was actually rumors of frictions because of this, pointing to the movie being cancelled)

So wait if Inhumans is getting cancelled can they just make show or introduce them on SHIELD? Cause I kinda still wanna see them. :D

If they're shuffling the Inhumans aside to make room for FF (pleasepleaseplease), and they're also planning to show off the Inhumans in FF, I highly doubt that they'll be doing so in the first FF outing. That's a hell of a lot of characters to nail in one go.

The girl works for Marvel, I guess.

I think a 'soft introduction' could work. The FF could encounter a couple of the Inhumans in their travels, but it could be a short, mysterious encounter that would set something up for later and create interest.

Unless the FF are Inhumans...I dunno...just sayin.

Johnny could have a crush on a lovely young lady who is an enormous dog lover.

Have the FF battle the Frightful Four. That would allow the FF to encounter an amnesiac Medusa who wouldn't be aware of her true identity, just like in the comics, and eventually other Inhumans would come looking for her.

Wasn't Indy 5 being released a week after Inhumans? I wonder if this is just more restructuring with the schedule. Inhumans would probably be moved to Nov 2019 or Aug like GOTG. They may not be sure where to fit this on the schedule.

Sequels to Spidey and Dr Strange probably being released in 2020. That 3rd film in 2020 could be a new property launch. FF hopefully being the May 2020 film. BP sequel coming in 2021. So much stuff coming out of Disney.

Then again it could be GOTG3 in May 2020. Usually one of these films is a new property launch once a year though.

I think that, while the whole schedule is evolving, Inhumans probably will be replaced by something 'new'. Marvel seems to have a clear strategy of releasing a number of sequels while also keeping things fresh with things like Dr. Strange, Black Panther and Inhumans. I suspect that there will be something interesting replacing Inhumans, but it could be 1 of 100 potential new projects.

Where's the proof the woman who responded works for Marvel?
