The Rebooted "Keep Hope Alive" (that the rights can revert back to Marvel) Thread - Part 8

Stan is the One Above All, I always thought Fiege had more the look for Uatu. And, given his role in overseeing the MCU's birth and growth, it would be a great nod.

Or, we could get Stan as Uatu the rebel watcher, I suppose, with Fiege as one sent to take over the watching over of Earth.

Either one would be great, as long as we have Ben Grimm seeing them both at some point, looking down upon the FF then commenting on smells from a certain place, anyplace, on the planet. Ala that old Invaders/FF crossover story arc.

I thought Kirby was supposed to be the One Above All.

He looks pretty cool. I'm used to seeing black lines on him though.

That's exactly what Disney is doing but it's acceptable to MCU fans because hey it's Disney they can do whatever. The longest running Marvel cartoon is X-Men at 76 episodes and fans want another animated series but let's not give it to them because we don't have film rights.

Heh... actually, Ultimate Spider-Man just ended it's run at over 100 episodes.

Not denying that the X-Men COULD bring in another long-running series, but Spider-Man is already on track for another animated series.

So with Simmon "this isn't a disaster" Kinberg in talks to write and direct the next X-men. Does that further suggest hands off of the F4 franchise? If so I personally hopes he gets the deal.

While ruining that next!

I'm left wondering if Ultimate could run this long, another is on the way, along with an animated film, how did Spectacular only get two seasons?

Disney took over the TV rights after the Marvel buyout and opted not to continue the Sony produced series.

Wtf? Seriously...:loco:

Well, I guess third time's the charm for Kinberg to completely ruin the X-Men. Though if Kinberg directing a X-Men film would lead us to finally get a reboot from scratch, then great. I don't like the current cast members anyway.

Fox has been inconsistent since day 1. One step ahead, two steps back. For thoe who laud them for Logan, don't forget from the last 4 Marvel movies, 2 of them are panned and one is considered one of the worst movies of it's genre.

Yeah Fox is the definition of inconsistent. For every great CBM there's a terrible one. Luckily Logan is amazing according to reviews.

I was thinking about the untitled Avengers 4 and how perfect it would be to introduce our beloved F4 there. Utopia I know.

How is this guy still collecting a paycheck?

Sturdy knees and well worn lips I would imagine....

If they must keep him around leave him in a producer role where he can't do much harm. Letting him write (without someone of better talent on board to cover his hack @ss) is taking a big chance with him...and directing?

Only directing credit I can find for him in IMDB is as 'secondary unit/assistant director' for....FFINO.

I can buy Fox might let him loose on another screenplay, but directing? :loco:

I'm generally ambivalent regarding X-Men. And Fox management and Simon Kinberg deserve each other.

But NO film deserves to be treated so badly as to have Kinberg both write and direct.

I mean if I heard he was going to write and direct a remake of Gigli, I'd feel obligated to speak up and hope they could find someone else.

:lmao:

Yeah I just popped over to IMDB (like you apparently) to see if he had any directing credits (knowing full well it's rumored he directed a good chunk of FF), and saw that was his only one listed.

Apparently Fox was really impressed by his writing/directing on that one.:loco:

Kinberg will surprise everyone with finally delivering an X-MEN film not about Wolverine, Magneto, or Mystique. While finally not wearing all black costumes. And no Singer directing

That's what I've been asking for years and years.

Kinberg signed off on the laughably bad casting and costuming for FFINO while writing the truly awful script. There's absolutely no reason to suspect he has what it takes to get the X-Men franchise back on track.

What do you base this on? He has been involved with most of the previous efforts, so why would there be a significant shift in focus? (continuing what they've been doing is probably the strongest argument anybody would have for hiring him).

And as for all black costumes, prepare for "containment suits":

Throughout the production of FF, all he did was crap all over the comics and fans and explain why his version would be better than what was in the comics or what we wanted.

And the result was arguably the worst superhero film ever made (in the bottom 3 for certain).

But I'm glad you're happy.

from a man that wrote and co-directed Fant4stic to the savior of the X-verse? I'm not saying it's impossible, but highly unlikely

Member when we first saw the concept art with the belts and springs? Good times.

Idc about any of that. They aren't rebooting so no sensible director is touching this continuity. I refuse to support another Singer film (They may be good films but it's not X-MEN IMO). So Kinberg it is. Just give me the costumes from the end of X6 kick out Lawrence, Fassbender, Jackman, & Singer Directing set it in my favorite X-MEN era of 90's and I'll take what I can get
