Arrow The Roy Harper/Colton Haynes Thread!

It seem like he and Oliver know where and what to do at the right moment......I do hope he get more scenes! and show his skills off. I don't think Captain Lance know that he has a partner/side kick........Roy should have back Oliver during the Court Vertigo fight instead of Captain Lance

that was great from Roy......I wonder what is his cover will be during the day

As much as I enjoy seeing Roy as Arsenal now, I really feel like they cheapened his journey towards donning the hood.

It took Oliver 5 years to hone his skills, where he had learned from some of the best fighters out in the world...and yet Roy, is presented as being almost as capable as Oliver is currently with just 5-9 months worth of training?

He was better than Oliver pre island when he started.
He was already doing parkour and fighting in his thug life.

^ Right. And that's the normal for hero/sidekicks:

- Hero spends year training and becomes a hero.
- Hero gets a sidekick that debuts shortly with not as much training but can hang with the hero

I don't know Roy already have a street person since he appear in season 1......his training is more learning to shoot a bow and arrow......he already seem to be a capable runner. His archery skills is likely his weakness that why he has other weapons

Roy doesn't have the Mirakuru in him still, does he?

I like Roys costume but I think he looks ridiculous with the hood. He looks much better without it.

I love the costume but one thing about really bugged me during the episode. Haynes/Stunt-Guy seemed to be able to move around in it just fine during fight scenes, but whenever he stopped fighting it suddenly seemed like he couldn't move at all.

So Arsenal finally gets his name....

I don't like how the hood seems to be made out of leather. Because of that it loses the ability to take any shape, thus looking very stiff.

Exactly, I loved the last scene because it shows the difference with Roy and Diggle. Diggle came in with his own set of skills and helps out Oliver in a certain way, but Roy is still in training and has lessons to learn and Oliver is there to teach him until he's finally reached that level where he can fight on his own without help, or even be the one to go out and find Oliver if he's ever trapped.

Roy is basically still a Robin, and that's good enough for Oliver. He's skilled in many areas, but he's not ready to be a Nightwing.

I wonder if we'll hear a little about Roy's past this season. For instance,in the first season,he mentioned losing someone close to him. While in the 2nd season he says he can't say anything nice about his parents. Not knowing much about the Roy of the comics, it does have me curious....
hmm of the comic's that I have, he was found on a native American reserve, already had bow & arrow skills from his foster dad, before Ollie came & became his guardian.

And he's related to the Captain America of the DCU yes alot in make & personality. The senor Guardian (Jim Harper) & also related to the second » Guardian (James harper II) (those are their profiles)

the First Guardian's Shield

& a super villain called Vandal Savage (ancestor major threat in the DCU at times ) who is immortal & can give Ra's a run for his money as far as being immortal goes.

The latter has been know to kidnapped those related to him to help extend his immortality by their deaths as well.

Roy and his daughter both have meta human dna potential as a know fact but it's hasn't been activated yet.

That thing with Slade in the show & the fact that the second guardian is alot like Captain America more so then ever. Let's just say I wasn't too surprised with the Mirikuru event with Roy. minus it make him into a none speaking killing machine

oh and personality wise(mostly due to Oliver raising him) he was the Titans version of gambit . Only he was a teen dad with it.
